STAFF at two northern suburbs hotels were assaulted by a gang of armed men this morning.
In the first incident, staff leaving the Brahma Lodge Hotel about 2.30am were confronted by three men carrying a baseball bat and iron bars. One of the staff was assaulted.
The men, all of aboriginal appearance, escaped empty handed, but about five minutes later three people fitting the same description entered the gaming room of the Old Spot hotel, Salisbury Heights.
A security guard on duty received minor injuries when he was assaulted with an iron bar. He received a cut to the arm.
The trio took gold coins and fled in an early model white Holden Commodore with a spoiler on the boot.
