Constable charged over 1985 child sex

A POLICE Community Constable has been arrested by detectives from the Pedophile Task Force over child sex offences allegedly committed more than 20 years ago.

The Pennington man, 59, was arrested at his home early today and charged with unlawful sexual intercourse, unlawful detention, and failing to supply food, clothing and shelter to a minor.

The alleged offences occurred in 1985, before the man was appointed a Community Constable.

The man has been bailed to appear in court in September.
