A VICTORIAN man was chased by a group of up to six Asian men and stabbed several times early this morning in the western suburbs.

The man in his 20s was chased along Hanson Rd by the group and into Alison St where he was stabbed numerous times.

The man “received severe lacerations to his hands, arms and body and is in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital undergoing emergency surgery,” police spokesman Senior Constable Mick Abbott said.

AN opportunist thief has taken advantage of the honesty of a good samaritan by claiming ownership of a lost wallet filled with cash.

Asian thief dishonestly claims lost wallet at WestfieldThe wallet was found in a cinema on Friday, May 16, at the end of a movie screening at Marion Megaplex, Westfield Marion.

Police said a person found the lost wallet and asked a nearby couple if it belonged to them.
