A British man being held hostage by the Muslim extremist organisation IS (Islamic State) since 2012 has has his father step forward in a plea for his safety and for the man to be released.

John Cantlie (43) was seized by IS in 2012 where he had been working as an independent photojournalist. Speaking from his hospital bed Paul cantlie who described his son as a "good man" in his plea for his release also stated that john went to Syria "seeking out the true story of the suffering of the Syrian people and ensuring the world was made aware of their plight". Johns father who is critically ill and facing his 81st birthday mentioned how "proud" he was of his sons work!

The insurgent group, which currently controls large parts of Syria and Iraq, have previously killed three western hostages which include on Briton and two Americans!

Who exactly are IS?

Islamic State (IS) is a radical Islamist group that has seized large swathes of territory in eastern Syria and across northern and western Iraq.Its brutal tactics - including mass killings and abductions of members of religious and ethnic minorities, as well as the beheadings of soldiers and journalists - have sparked fear and outrage across the world and prompted US military intervention.

Some of this Cantlie fellows broadcasts have been very interesting. The government is not without blame for these atrocities. They could have paid the ransoms, as other governments have done, and had these people released. The excuse that they refuse to deal with 'terrorists' on 'principle' is weak and does not hold up to historical scrutiny. The British government bowed to the IRA, and recently the US government worked towards the release of a soldier in Afghanistan, so why not work with the ISIS people? Seems pretty obvious to me. They *want* an excuse to bomb these mud people, and if it takes sacrificing a few hostages, then so be it. Also, and I hate to sound like the conspiracy nut here, with these dodgy 'execution' (brutal murder) videos, we can't say for sure if the perpetrators are genuine representatives of 'ISIS' or if this is all black propaganda. Regardless of what it is, we have absolutely no business meddling in the middle east. The guiding principle of all our actions must be, will it benefit the White Race? Does any of this madness, any of these idiotic wars, benefit the White Race? Of course not.

I don't think anyone could have put that better! Outstanding comment and sumerisation towards the case! The sudden change of mind is without a doubt due to some meddling scheme for the government and Although they say it won't happen, with the rapid growth of IS and it's 75% of fighters coming from foreign countries such as the uk and such, the end result will most definitely end up resulting in British boots being placed on the ground and white lives being lost for a countless cause towards the mud race

In a pervious statement I read regarding IS it stated that they are also one of the best funded extremist organisations ever to be formed but how they receive their income is also one of their downfalls! They have been capturing Kurdish airstrips and have seized control over several oil fields! Who they are selling it to remains an unsolved case but no doubt the government will have that in mind when it comes to their "tactial air strikes" that I can imagine will somewhat conviently miss the oil fields whilst Westminster then use it to line their own pockets

A British jihadist who skipped bail and fled the country has begun taunting British authorities from Syria, where he is now fighting alongside Islamic State.

Abu Rumaysah was arrested in an anti-terror operation in September and later released on bail.

He was detained along with the radical Islamist Anjem Choudary and other former members of the now banned al Muhajiroun group.

He is understood to have skipped bail in the last couple of weeks and has now begun tweeting photos and messages from his new home in Syria.

In one message he said: "What a shoddy security system Britain must have to allow me to breeze through Europe to the Islamic State."

In a recent interview for the US broadcaster CBS Rumaysah told the 60-Minutes programme that he couldn't even love his mother because she was not a Muslim.

It comes as Home Secretary Theresa May prepares to announce a series of counter-terrorism measures in the House of Commons on Wednesday afternoon.
