The neo-Nazi who sparked a firestorm when he led a rally outside Parliament is an Adolf Hitler-worshipping air conditioner installer whose views have been publicly disavowed by his parents

Sydney tradie Jack Eltis, 28, was behind a National Socialist Network protest at NSW state parliament on Saturday, which saw 67 men dressed in black chanting antisemitic slogans and holding a banner that read 'Abolish the Jewish Lobby'.



The demonstration spurred outrage as Australians demanded to know why the rally was allowed to go ahead, as politicians scrambled to close the legal loopholes that gave it the green light.
Now, Eltis - a young father who openly admires Hitler and refers to Germany as the 'motherland' - has been unmasked as the organiser of the controversial event.

The business owner, who refuses to serve non-white customers, has claimed his family and friends have no problem with him being the head of the neo-Nazi movement in NSW.

However, just last year, his parents publicly distanced themselves from their son's views after they were targeted on social media.

'As some of you know, our son Jack Eltis has involved himself in a Neo Nazi organisation,' his father Matt wrote online.

'None of our family condone or support this organisation. Jack is a grown adult and has made his decisions.


'We all have children, raise them, guide them as best we can - ultimately they choose their path.

'Life is short, be kind to everyone.'

Family photos of Eltis show him as a bright-eyed youth wearing braces on his teeth, who once enjoyed celebrating birthdays with his close relatives, as well as going to footy matches and festivals together.

The images are a stark contrast to the scenes at last weekend's rally, which saw ranks of men in black, standing shoulder-to-shoulder chanting 'blood and honour' - an infamous motto of the Hitler Youth movement.

The event, which lasted approximately seven minutes, was approved by NSW Police following a Form 1 application submitted by the White Australia group on October 28.

However, both NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon and Premier Chris Minns said they were unaware of the protest until after it occurred.

Premier Minns described the rally as 'racist, violent, and often horrifying'.

NSW Police were slammed for allowing the rally to be held, with politicians and community leaders condemning the event, calling it a 'shameful act of hate' and a chilling threat to Australia's multicultural values.

The scenes created a political furore and sparked an apology from Deputy Police Commissioner Peter Thurtell, who knew about the demonstration but failed to brief his new boss, Commissioner Mal Lanyon.

Eltis joined the National Socialist Network in 2021 and said the group, which once boasted just three members in the NSW chapter, is now approaching close to 100.

'We recruit all sorts of men - blue collar, white collar, from 16 all the way through to like 65 years old. Most work normal 9 to 5 or 7 to 3 jobs,' Eltis told The Daily Telegraph.

He said the NSN was receiving significant legal advice, to curate their protest permits and determine how much they could get away with at public rallies.

'We go up to the legal threshold - up to the maximum that we can' he said.

'Most of the members are happy to show their face and espouse their political beliefs to the public now.' 

The Age reported Eltis went on a study tour to Germany to meet a far-right group as part of the National Socialist Network's push to register as a political party and run for seats in Australia's state and federal parliaments.

'We want to do state and federal (elections), starting with federal. Our platform is racism. Mass deportations.'

He said the group was about '90 percent' through the application process.

Registering a federal political party with the Australian Electoral Commission involves selecting a name and logo within the requirements of the Electoral Act, drafting a constitution, paying a $500 fee and assembling at least 1,500 members.

Minns said on Wednesday the NSW Electoral Commissioner had a public interest test available when determining registration, and while it was an independent decision, he assumed 'that a nakedly racist organisation would be a very strong risk' of failing that test.

The Premier also warned the names of anyone who was prepared to sign on as a political member risked being publicly associated with Nazis in NSW.

'Despite what the organisers of the party will tell you, this information may well become public and you'll be exposed as a racist,' Minns warned.

NSW Police are monitoring the NSN's activities in Sydney, including their regular public gatherings where they engage in physical activity including mixed martial arts and power-lifting.

It is a requirement of NSN members to meet once a month.

At least his folks realise their lad is a grown adult that makes his own choice. The Jew tools of trade are to go after his loved ones and ostracise them just because he doesn't like how his community is headed and wants the old Australia back.

It isn't fair on his loved ones to get picked on and they'll try drive a wedge between him and them.

A nationalist activist who took part in a peaceful police-approved protest against the influence of the Jewish lobby in Sydney has had his visa cancelled and faces deportation to South Africa.

Matthew Gruter, a married civil engineer with a newborn baby who has been in Australia on a working visa for the past three years, was among 67 members of the National Socialist Network who demonstrated outside NSW Parliament on November 8.

Mr Gruter was identified after a doxxing campaign conducted by far-left extremists working with The Sydney Morning Herald in the weeks following the protest, which had been approved by NSW Police, was non-violent, and resulted in no arrests or charges.

Immigration Minister Tony Burke , whose government has allowed hundreds of foreign criminals out of immigration detention over the past two years, said on Monday Mr Gruter's work visa had been revoked, and claimed the nationalist activist "specialised in hatred", telling a press conference "he can leave".

Noticer News understands that Mr Gruter intends to appeal via the courts or a tribunal, and a GiveSendGo has been started to support him and his family.

Jack Eltis, the NSW leader of political organisation White Australia, said in a statement on Monday evening the decision of the government to deport Mr Gruter while allowing immigrant criminals to stay made it clear that "the Australian government hates White people", and called Mr Burke a "traitor to the nation".

"Matthew is an intelligent, honourable, hard working White man who has come to Australia and contributed productively to Australia as a civil engineer. He has a loving wife, and a newborn baby. He represents some of the greatest traits of our race and spirit," Mr Eltis said.

"Matthew's only 'crime' in the eyes of the treasonous Australian government, is advocating that Australia remain a White nation and not turn into South Africa, having seen the effects himself.

"In complete contrast to this decision, Noticer News reported yesterday on the decision to allow a convicted Afghani rapist to remain in Australia and not be deported. Africans who terrorise Melbourne daily with knives and machetes, and Palestinians who protest weekly for years on end burning our flag, are similarly never deported."

United Australia Party senator Ralph Babet also criticised the decision, writing in a comment on Facebook: "You can't cancel peoples visas because you don't like their political views. This is a slippery slope and will not end well for everyone."

Mr Burke's comments come just days after the Administrative Review Tribunal of Australia restored the visa of Mohammad Mohammadi, 28, who sexually assaulted a teenage girl on a Melbourne bus in 2018 and only had his visa cancelled in August this year.

The Albanese Labor government has also allowed about 350 immigrants to remain in Australia, despite convictions for serious criminal offences, as a result of a November 2023 High Court decision that ruled a Rohingya refugee who raped a 10-year-old boy could not be kept in indefinite detention.

They include a violent Sudanese thug who was allowed to stay because he self-identifies as Aboriginal, a New Zealander who raped his 14-year-old stepdaughter while his wife was giving birth, a Lebanese immigrant who raped a girl, 13, he picked up in his van, and many more.

Dozens have gone on to commit more crimes, including an African man who is back behind bars charged with the brutal bashing murder of a photographer in Melbourne, a Sudanese national who allegedly murdered a man in Brisbane, and a Sudanese gang member who went on to commit more violent crimes.

Another, a Pakistani rapist who cannot be named due to a court order, was recaptured after cutting off his ankle bracelet in Melbourne in March.

In July a grieving widow spoke out after learning that an Indian driver who was jailed for five years for killing her husband had still not been deported due to repeated appeals.

Federal deportation laws require the cancellation of visas of non-citizen criminals who have been sentenced to a year or more in prison, but Victorian magistrates have been given training on how to impose lesser sentences so as to avoid triggering deportation.

A South African neo-Nazi facing imminent deportation from Australia after attending an anti-Semitic rally has a Jewish tattoo emblazoned on his arm
Engineer Matthew Gruter was one of 60 demonstrators linked to the National Socialist Network who protested outside NSW parliament on November 9, shouting Nazi slogans and unfurling a large banner that read 'Abolish the Jewish Lobby'.

Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke confirmed on Monday he had cancelled Gruter's visa in light of the incident, with the foreign national currently in custody at a western Sydney detention centre.
Photos of Gruter show he appears to have Hebrew script reading 'גם זה יעבור' inked below his right bicep.

Sources close to Gruter confirmed to the Daily Mail that it is indeed Hebrew text.

The phrase reads 'gam ze yaavor' which roughly translates in English to 'this too shall pass'.

When contacted by the Daily Mail and questioned on why he has a tattoo in Hebrew - the official language of Israel - given his neo-Nazi viewpoint, Gruter said 'no comment'.

The revelation comes just hours after Gruter was taken into custody by Australian Border Force officials during a raid on his home on Tuesday.

An update to a neo-Nazi fundraising page said: 'This morning at approximately 4am Matthew Gruter and his family were raided by the Australian Border Force and Matthew was separated from his family and taken to be detained in a detention facility.

'Leaving his wife and four-week-old newborn with 30 days to leave the country, whilst Matthew will be detained at a facility pending his deportation.'

Gruter is reportedly being held at Villawood Detention Centre, in the city's west. When asked about his encounter with the ABF, Gruter told the Daily Mail 'I am not speaking to you' then hung up the phone. 

Mr Burke confirmed the raid during a press conference in Perth on Tuesday morning.

An Australian Border Force spokesperson said 'the Department cannot comment on individual cases.

'All non-citizens who wish to travel to, enter or remain in Australia must satisfy the requirements of the Migration Act 1958 (the Act) and the Migration Regulations 1994 (the Regulations), including identity, health, character and security requirements,' they said.

'The Australian Government is committed to protecting the Australian community from the risk of harm posed by non-citizens who engage in criminal conduct or behaviour of concern.'

The fundraiser, which lists Matthew Gruter as its creator, has so far raised more than $16,000.

Some donors have left comments reiterating Nazi rhetoric, including 'HH' (a reference to Heil Hitler) and 'stay strong white man'.

In announcing the government's ruling on Monday, Mr Burke said: 'If you are on a visa, you are a guest.'

'If you're a citizen, you're a full member of the Australian family,' he said.

'Like with any household, if a guest turns up to show hatred and wreck the household, they can be told it's time to go home.'

He added on Tuesday: '(We're) not only confident of our legal position, but also confident of the values of this country.'

'We are a decent, welcoming country, and the sort of hatred that was involved in that protest has nothing to do with Australia.'

The neo-Nazi protest outside NSW state Parliament drew intense criticism, with Premier Chris Minns labelling those involved 'pissants' and flagging another tightening of protest laws in response.

Police said a communication error within the force resulted in some top cops - including Commissioner Mal Lanyon - not being aware the protest was taking place.

Mr Minns has since confirmed the government would aim to establish new laws to crack down on hate speech.

The NSN rallied outside NSW parliament in June, when participants wore black uniforms and displayed a banner with the words 'End Immigration'.

Numerous protests involving NSN members have been staged in capital cities and towns over the past couple of years. In September, members of the group marched at anti-immigration rallies in Sydney and Melbourne.

The fringe group has ramped up efforts to form a political party in an effort to creep into the mainstream, which would require 750 members to join the party to formally register.


Mr Minns questioned if that would happen, given it would require those members to publicly associate their name with neo-Nazism.
