Of course this video is simplified for civilians.

I was never on a Gun Group, although I have helped to dig the gun pit with OHP (overhead protection) enough bloody times. And I did lead the Rifle Group when it mattered. In training only, I used an M60 and an L2A1 SLR fully automatic. When it mattered, I used the 30 round magazine from the L2A1 in my L1A1 SLR semi automatic 7.62mm Rimless NATO. Watched a demonstration of the brand new Mag58 that was to replace the old M60's before they threw me in prison and threw me out. Used plenty of other weapons in the army and as a civie. I once owned plenty of rifles including a Lee Enfield 303, Wehrmacht K98 Mauser 6.5, Swedish Karl Gustav Semi-Auto 6.5, .22's, air rifles in .175 .... And now, all I own is a pickaxe handle, because I'm a good little citizen in the Soviet Socialist Only Black Lives Matter Crypto-Republic of Australia.

FYI, where the US Army works in Platoon size, the Australian army works in Section size. It's different tactics. The Australian army uses what they call Fighting Patrols. The Israeli army uses the same method (know thy enemy). The reason is because the US army has more men at its disposal, so it can afford to use other tactics.
