Charles Townsend...From my personal opinion anyone is justified in reclaiming property that has been stolen. I know if I had something of value stolen from me I am going to all that is in my power to retrieve it. I think South Africa has every right. Apartheid has been a stain in that country for a long time and it's time to remedy that.

Shirley Johnson...As far as I am concerned it was never the Europeans' land in the first place. I think it is a difficult task — the redistribution of land. But from a justification point of view, yes the native born Africans do have a right to reclaim what was naturally theirs. What they will have to be prepared for is the blowback both politically and socially.

Mike Pierce...I don't think the violence is necessary, but I think from a theoretical perspective the people of South Africa are justified and have the right to redistribute the land stolen. White colonization has run it's course as consciousness is rising and awareness is growing in terms of the wrongs of the past. Society is becoming more compassionate towards the victims of those wrongs and the victims are beginning to fight back.

Monique...South Africa has every right to claim what is theirs. White people have been robbing the resources of that continent for centuries and the chickens are coming home to roost. Blacks (Aboriginals) in Australia are the same. The Aboriginal Industry/Land Rights Industry officials are mostly keeping their traps shut on the subject - or at least so it seems if you rely on MSM for all your information - but word is getting around that most Aboriginal Australians and their Elders or Cultural/Community Leaders are cheering on the ANC. Whether or not it works in South Africa, they intend to do the same in Australia.

Extract: A man known only as Dion told a packed Tuesday night forum at Mandurah, south of Perth, he would help his loved ones and spare taxpayers the cost.

'We will look after them we will feed them we will pay their medical bills — please let us get them here,' he said.

Citizenship Minister Alan Tudge told a full school hall at Mandurah Baptist College Australia could rescue white South African farmers after giving refugee status to people fleeing violence in Iraq, Syria and Myanmar.

'We have been generous to many, many other people around the world and I like to think we can be equally generous to South Africans who have been persecuted,' he said.

The minister heard from scores of people whose relatives are stuck in South Africa after black lawmakers voted to seize their land without compensation.

White farmers have been subjected to brutal assaults, with one elderly woman in the Vaal region last year tortured by having her foot mutilated with a power drill.

One woman told the forum 'every single day a farmer is farming on his land' increased the odds of them being raped or murdered the longer they remained in South Africa.

A farmer called John, who is still living in South Africa with his wife, told the ABC he hoped to immigrate to Perth to join his daughter.

He rejected a suggestion the murders of white South African farmers were simply reflective of the nation's high crime rate.

'When you torture people, you rape women and children, and you do it in front of their husbands after they've been incapacitated that's not crime,' he said.

The local federal Liberal member for Canning Andrew Hastie said the stories told at the forum highlighted how bad the situation was in South African for white farmers.

'We need to take some sort of action,' he told the ABC's AM radio program.

That whole offer of refuge in Australia for White South Africans was just another bullshit election promise. (Not that I voted for any party, but you know how it is.) It's like Trump's wall: 100 feet of impassable wall (that falls over in high winds) with a hundred miles on either side of open land without even a small fence. I know we knew all of this before, but for me, that's the end of it. If the government says it's going to do something good, in future, I'll call bogus, declare it to be part of their election campaign, and continue to call for a White Revolution - it's the Final Solution. There has been a surge in South Africans seeking refuge in Australia after Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton controversially instructed his department to accept claims from persecuted farmers, but none has had their visa applications approved.

Just 41 South African applications under the offshore humanitarian and refugee program have been accepted since 2008, which has remained unchanged since The Australian first reported the statistic in September 2018.

While there were only 350 applications from South Africans for humanitarian visas between 2008 and 2018, there were 220 more claims made in the past two years.

The South African community in Australia has attributed the significant increase to Mr Dutton asking the Department of Home Affairs in 2018 to "accept and consider" those South African farmers and landowners, alongside people from the Middle East, Asia and other African regions.

His direction followed a push from Liberal MPs for a special intake of up to 10,000 persecuted South Africans, which the Greens described at the time as a return to the White Australia policy.

Liberal National Party members Savanna Labuschagne and Patti Maher, Australian citizens from South Africa, initially felt a "glimmer of hope" but were now questioning why nothing has changed.

The duo stressed they were not critical of the Liberal Party or Mr Dutton but were frustrated by the bureaucracy they felt was preventing South Africans from receiving assistance.

Ms Labuschagne said white people were the minority in South Africa but no one was suggesting they were the only ones suffering, as black people were suffering just as much due to the "corruption" of the government.

"We were looking for humanitarian visas but we picked up a lot of flak, (with people) saying, 'Why do you feel white minority people are more important than people are from war-torn countries?' That's not the case. We are saying our people are as important as people from those countries," Ms Labuschagne said.

She said people were being raped, having holes drilled through their knee caps, their skin ironed off.

"The elderly are also being targeted. An elderly couple had boiling water poured down their throats. I could go on for days. How do we help our people?"

The LNP passed a motion last November calling on the federal government to expedite sponsored family migration applications to assist family members "experiencing violence and discrimination" in their home country. The policy is not specific to South Africans.

Ms Labuschagne said the government could cap the number of visas available to South Africans and charge a fee for the visa, insisting they did not want to come to Australia for free and worked hard when they arrived.

Government sources said the department was still looking at ways South Africans could apply under the humanitarian program "outside of the scope of the current criteria", as they were not currently eligible.

Rejection letters from the ­department to South African families applying for protection visas, obtained by The Australian, state they are not refugees because the violence and crime they have ­experienced is not "systematic and discriminatory".

Mr Dutton's delegate says the crime is "pervasive and cuts across all sections of the community".

"I find the risk of murder and serious physical/sexual assaults is one faced by the population of the country generally and not by the applicants personally. Accordingly, I find there to be no real risk of significant harm under (the ­Migration Act)," the delegate says. "The violence is a result of unlawful activity and is random and ­opportunistic ... rather than any systematic, religious or politically motivated objective."

The South African Human Rights Commission has not disputed there are farm murders and attacks motivated by hate or racial hostility but in 2015 noted evidence of black farmers "who clearly underlined the fact that safety on farms is not the preserve of one racial group".

Protection visas have also ­become a popular option for South Africans but while at least 33 have been lodged since November, none have been approved, with 97 protection visa applications from South Africans rejected.

"There are many other visas available to South Africans who want to come to Australia through both the permanent skilled and family streams and the temporary visa program," a department spokeswoman said.

"Under these programs they can come to Australia to work and reunite with family, and many will settle here."
