A "SADIST" accused of beating, raping and pimping out Australian women — including a teenager he married on the Gold Coast — will this week face trial in the US. 
 
The Jamaican man, accused of being a violent pimp who abused and forced women into prostitution in Australia and overseas, faces dozens of charges including sex trafficking by force, identity fraud and coercion after being arrested in New York in January following a joint operation by Australian and US authorities.

Among Damion St Patrick Baston's victims was an 18-year-old woman — who he prostituted, violently abused and threatened to kill during their relationship — after meeting at a party in 2009.

They married the following year in a small Islamic ceremony at an Australian mosque.

In 2010, Baston reportedly drove her to a Gold Coast golf course in the middle of the night before tying her to a chair, raping and threatening to kill her for not earning as much money as he expected her to on a trip to Perth, the ABC reports.
The following year he took her to Dubai where he continued to pimp her out and abuse her before taking her to Miami where she worked as a stripper and prostitute.

The 37-year-old will face court in Miami, Florida, this week after allegedly trafficking women across the world for years.

An Australian Federal Police (AFP) officer is expected to give evidence at the trial in the US District Court, for which jury selection is scheduled to begin on Monday (Tuesday AEST), but the AFP declined to comment.

"Baston is a violent pimp who has trafficked women across several continents, including in the southern district of Florida, Australia, and Dubai," prosecutor Roy Altman told the court earlier this year

UPDATE: AFL star Majak Daw has denied sex assault allegations being investigated by police. 
 
The North Melbourne forward, who it has emerged was arrested last month over allegations dating back to 2007, has said he is horrified by the claims.

The alleged victim told investigators she was assaulted by the Daw at Altona North when she was a teenager.

A Victoria Police statement said: "Sexual crimes squad detectives arrested and interviewed a 23-year-old Wyndham Vale man on May 25, 2014, in relation to historical sexual assault in Altona North in 2007."

He was released without charge. No further comment would be made as the investigation was continuing, a spokeswoman said.

When approached by the Herald Sun on May 22 over speculation of impending charges over a sex assault matter, the Kangaroos star said he was shocked.
Daw is the first Sudanese-born footballer to play at senior level in the AFL.

He is regarded as having enormous potential and is one of his club's main marketing figures.

A TEXT message found on the phone of one of Armin Asrawe's alleged killers said "I need to finish someone before they finish me", a court has heard. 
 
Mr Asrawe was killed outside his home on Avenue Rd in the early hours of August 9 last year.

The court has previously heard Mr Asrawe suffered 26 identifiable stab wounds consisted with a machete and smaller knife.

Nigoc Linh Bui, 33, and her partner are jointly charged with his murder and she today appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court seeking release on bail.

Prosecutor Andrew Wilson opposed the application for bail saying Bui had previously provided a false alibi to police about her and her co-accused's whereabouts on the night of Mr Asrawe's death.

He said CCTV footage at a service station and at neighbouring houses showed footage of an Audi belonging to her co-accused on the street where Mr Asrawe, a debt collector to whom the pair owed money, lived.

Mr Wilson said phone-tower evidence placed the pair near Mr Asrawe's house. Phone intercepts and text messages between the pair and friends, some in Vietnamese and some in English, were being translated.

Among them was the one on Bui's co-accused's phone saying he needed "to finish someone" in the week before the alleged murder.

The court also heard blood matching the co-accused's was found at the scene, and that he had attended a medical centre for wounds from a knife.

Mr Wilson said other reasons Bui should not be released include her previous convictions, her risk of reoffending and the possibility she would intimidate witnesses.

A HIGH-ACHIEVING student who fled to China after allegedly bludgeoning his mother to death at Burnside is being extradited to Adelaide to be charged with murder. 
 
Wei Li, 21, has been the subject of an international manhunt since his mother, Hong Xia Tian, was found dead inside the family's home in 2011.

He was deported to Australia by Chinese authorities earlier today because he did not have a valid visa.

Li, who escaped Australia when a SA Police bungle  saw him pass through immigration, was arrested at Sydney Airport when he arrived on an Air China flight from Beijing.

He will now be flown to South Australia after Major Crime detectives successfully applied to have him extradited during a hearing at Parramatta Local Court this afternoon.

Once back in South Australia, Li will be charged with murder. He will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

Ms Tian's battered body was found by a friend in an upstairs bedroom of the family's Lockwood Rd home on Tuesday, March 22, 2011.

A TRAUMATISED former asylum-seeker VIOLENT MUD was last week placed on a good behaviour bond after threatening Department of Human Services staff in Dandenong with a bottle of petrol and a cigarette lighter.

The defendant, 28, had threatened to "burn down the place" if he didn't secure a public housing property "by the end of the day" ...

Magistrate Jack Vandersteen said "the circumstances in which you came to Australia are highly relevant to the circumstances you're in now".

Before his arrival, the man had been under "constant threat" from an Iraqi militia and the "subject of severe abuse" in his homeland. The man fled Iraq after the same militia killed his brother.

While coming to Australia, he survived a "very tragic incident" at Christmas Island. Many of those who died were relatives and close friends of his.

Mr Vandersteen found those events led to the accused's "multitude of mental health issues" and to his "unacceptable" threats to DHS staff. [more ...]

Circumstances in which I have been forced into violent altercations with blacks, whom have been encouraged by media, elected government, the judicial system and do-gooders to pursue a lifestyle of total violence against the White are highly relevant to the circumstances in which I find myself feeling the need to fling a molotov cocktail at Magistrate Jack Vandersteen.
