A POLICE investigation into child sex offences at a prominent Jewish school was hindered by sections of the Jewish community amid attempts to protect a man charged with dozens of crimes against students, a Victoria Police detective has claimed.

David Cyprys, 43, was charged with 16 counts of indecent assault and 13 counts of gross indecency from his time at Yeshiva College, St Kilda, Melbourne, during the 1980s and 1990s.

"They (Jewish community) have failed to act in any way to protect the children and the matters have been swept under the carpet," Sen Det Metcher said "Lies have been told to police...information has been twisted or covered up," she said. [more ...]

there can be no defence for the horrible things a peadofile does to children. Some say it is a sickness, I say no, a sickness can be cured but they will always be the same. Children are not safe whilst these monsters breathe air. We need an island way off the coast to put them on and leave them there till they die. I have a niece who was the unfortunate victim of one at 5 years old, she is now 12 and still bears the emotional scars. Anyone who harbors or defends one of these creatures is just as guilty in my eye's.

A LEADING figure within the ultra-orthodox Jewish movement that governs yeshiva colleges in Australia has ridiculed victims of sex abuse, likening the impact of child molestation to the "embarrassment" of diarrhoea and insisting victims are "not that damaged".

In a video-taped interview posted on YouTube this week and since removed, Rabbi Friedman questions whether sexual abuse is a big averiah (sin) and why victims of abuse feel damaged. "You are not that damaged -- cut it out," he said. "If in fact you did do an averiah, so do two mitzvois (good deeds). Regain your balance."

Rabbi Friedman suggests abuse was endemic within the ultra-orthodox community, saying "there is hardly a kid who comes to a yeshiva, to a program, that hasn't been molested". In a lengthy and at times rambling interview, the rabbi recalls the case of an abuse victim who sought his advice on whether to tell his fiance about his experiences.

"He said: 'Do I have to tell that I was molested?'. I said: 'Do you have to tell that you once had diarrhoea?' It's embarrassing but nobody's business."

Anybody who can sit there and see humour in what this twisted kike is saying would have to be one their selves. I can't believe that anyone would belittle child abuse and the psychological trauma it can create. I wouldn't know anything about it, but at the same time I wouldn't sit around making jokes about it and pretending to understand things about which I know nothing.
