No, you don't, Jimbo.

I posted the following blog link in "General" about ten days ago:

My old friend Hadding has done a yeoman's job of researching, then exposing HAC here as the lying fraud, and long-time troublemaker he definitely is. Pass this link on whenever the name Covington comes up, regarding his criticism of Creativity and Founder Ben Klassen.

PM Klassen died on August 6, 1993, so missed the explosion of the Internet for WN use, but Dr. Pierce went online in 1995 with two Web sites and a subscription listserve for subscribers to receive the texts of his radio show a few hours before the weekly broadcast of American Dissident Voices. The National Alliance made good use of the Internet in those 7 years before Dr. Pierce's death in 2002.

The Hill of the Ravens is not Covington's latest book, BTW. He wrote some trilogy that's he's promoting now as part of his NW Migration ruse.

Jimbo, don't you post at VNN forum? There's a poster there with the username Hilda who says she is a Creator.  Go read some of her posts and then PM her and invite her to this CA forum. She's a very good writer, and underappreciated by Linder, the VNN host. I'd invite her myself but I'm banned from VNN and can't PM or search the archived posts.

Bump!

This blog has expanded considerably in the past ten days. Hadding just wrote the following today:
---

Harold Covington would have us believe that Ben Klassen was responsible for a number of murders, and that although he, Covington, knew this, somehow Klassen was never charged:

[Covington writes in his A Brief History of the White Nationalist Movement:
1978 - Klassen business manager Barry Edwards is murdered in what police call a "gangland style execution." Edwards's body is found on June 12th, 1978 in the trunk of a car parked at a public beach in West Palm Beach.

This seems to be total fiction.  In a Google News Archive search through the whole decade of the 1970s you will not find reference to a murdered Barry Edwards in West Palm Beach. Furthermore, I inquire to the West Palm Beach Police Department as to whether any Barry Edwards was murdered in that city in 1978 and after three weeks I got this response from Sergeant Jim Cink of the Homicide Unit, Criminal Investigations Division:
---

Regarding your inquiry into the  death/murder of a Mr. Barry Edwards, our records show a Barry Edwards alive as of April 1984.  Without any other details such as his date of birth, social security number, etc., we may not be talking about the same person. I can tell you we don't have, according to our records, a Barry Edwards murdered in the City of West Palm Beach after 1967.

---
So, that's how it goes with Covington's wild, malicious claims -- dig around some for details and one discovers such claims are unsubstantiated. Klassen had no "business manager," much less one named Barry Edwards.

Turner may have never given incriminating evidence to the JOG, what he may have given was any sort of private information about other White Racial Loyalists - whether it be names, associates, planned events, employment details etc.

For example, if a so-called racialist gave out someone's employment details to the JOG, they'd be no less an informant than if they assisted in framing someone for a crime. Speaking to the JOG on any matter and giving away any information is the act of a race traitor and they deserve whatever they get.

It has been stipulated that Turner was paid at least $100,000 by the FBI to be a listening post for WN activity.

The most salient fact about Turner for a Creator to remember is his public declaration that anyone who is not a Xian needs to be killed. That alone, besides being a JOG informant, put the blustery SOB solidly in the enemy camp as far as I was concerned.

Does a Creator really need know anything more than that about Turner to know that he is not "one of us?" He's no more "one of us" than is Harold Covington who has maliciously smeared Creativity and its founder for more than two decades.

I used JOG's Postal Inspector to aggressively go after Covington for mail fraud a few years ago because he is a fraud and because I could, and legally. Doing so put his phony NSWPP operation out of business. I used NC District Court to win a judgment against defendant Covington for his outrageous libels of me, and by extension, of others. If that makes me a race traitor in some comrades' eyes, then so be it -- we have a different view of who is the enemy and of the available means to fight him.

The Law: use it or lose it.

This is a new blog launched by a comrade for the express purpose of refuting the lies of one Harold A. Covington in one specific document. Many of those lies are leveled at Creativity and its Founder, PM Ben Klassen

Harold Covington's Defamation of Ben Klassen

Let's look at the case of Ben Klassen, a former Florida legislator who founded the Church of the Creator in 1973.

The anonymous author of the "Brief History," lapsing from pretend-scholarly mode, refers to him as "Benny" Klassen, which I remember also seeing in Harold Covington's Resistance newsletter in 1993 (which he authored under the pseudonym Winston Smith). After I initially posted this information on the Radio Free Mississippi forum (along with evidence that other sections of the Brief History had been written by him), Covington stated "that a lot of the Klassen material (although not all of it) is either plagiarized directly from my past writings or re-worked from my stuff."

There is nobody else with a history of attacking Ben Klassen like this, apart from a few that read Covington and repeat what he says.  The two smears that I address here certainly originated with Covington circa 1989-1993.

With the increased availability of information through internet in the past 15 years, it has become much easier to investigate an accusation about somebody's past, especially in the case of somebody like Klassen who was a Florida politician before he founded COTC.  I went to Google News Archives to see what I could find.

The "Brief History" alleges that Ben Klassen's country of birth is a great mystery, and that he has alleged several different ones at different times. The anonymous author gives no examples to support that claim.  I found a newspaper item that somewhat addresses this alleged confusion about Klassen's country of origin.

Klassen, former Republican state representative from Pompano Beach, protested vigorously when the board denied his application to register for sale Palms and Pines Ranchos, a Collier County development.
    [...]
"I don't want to appear contentious," said Klassen. "But I have lived in four countries and I am a refugee from communism and the only nation I chose to live in was the United States.  Jabbing his finger at his Constitution he continued, "I contend that when I can't sell my land due to some bureaucratic edict, my constitutional rights under the 14th Amendment have been abridge."   "Board  Eyes All Isolated Land Sales," from the St. Petersburg Times, 2  November 1968.

I looked into Ben Klassen's connection to the 1968 George Wallace presidential campaign in order to determine whether there was any evidence, as the Brief History alleges, that Klassen was involved in a group called "Jews for Wallace."  I really had no idea what I would find!  Could Covington have been right about something?  What I found was this.

NO. 2 man on the Wallace-For-President Committee is former Rep. Ben Klassen, a Palm Beach Republican who lost out in an attempt to move from the House to the Senate.   "Wallace Supporters In State Gear For January," St. Petersburg Times,  6 December 1967.

The next article is about a dispute between two factions of Wallace supporters, about who was really in charge of the Florida campaign. On one side, Miami Realtor Thomas H. Hart, on the other side Dr. William Campbell Douglass and Ben Klassen.  Douglass and Klassen were both members of the John Birch Society, which Hart apparently regarded as political poison.  Since this article discusses the character and connections of the men on both sides of this dispute, you might expect "Jews for Wallace" to be mentioned, but it is not.

Vice-chairman of Dr. Douglass' Wallace organization is Ben Klassen, a Palm Beach Republican, the only member of the Florida Legislature to identify himself as a member of the John Birch Society.   "Wallace  Men Feud in Florida," by Charles F. Hesser, from The Miami News,  7 December 1967.

There is plenty of mention of Ben Klassen's involvement in the 1968 Wallace for President campaign, but no mention of "Jews for Wallace" anywhere.

The only curve in the state's new election law is that no more than 2458 signatures can come from any one county.  And there must be petitions from at least 34 different counties in the state with a minimum of 61 signatures on them.  But Broward County's Wallace chairman, Ben Klassen, has said this requirement can be easily met and will actually be an aide to Wallace workers in stimulating voter action.  Wallace  Builds Election Machine in Kirk County," from the St. Petersburg  Times, 18 January 1968.

As far as I can tell, not only is there no mention in the online newspaper archives of any connection between Ben Klassen and Jews for Wallace: the organization may have never existed.  It certainly doesn't turn up in a newspaper archive search for the 1960s.  In a Google Web search, it only appears in the context of this smear of Ben Klassen.  Anybody can prove that to himself by doing a search on this term:

"Jews for Wallace" -Klassen

From all the books, all the newspapers, all the articles online, you will get zero results, which implies that "Jews for Wallace" probably never existed except as a fictional element in this attack on Klassen.

Klassen had a few words to say about Covington too while he was alive, although nothing trashy like what Covington has been promulgating about him. "Anatomy of a Hypocrite" from the March 1989 issue of Racial Loyalty can easily be found online.

Following publication of that criticism, Harold Covington sued for libel and lost.  Thereafter he began publishing scurrilous attacks on Ben Klassen and his right-hand man of the time, Will Williams, and subsequently against anybody, like Tom Metzger or Dr. William Pierce, that seemed to be other than hostile toward them.

Material about Klassen from the SPLC

The timeline in the Brief History's section on Ben Klassen is partially plagiarized fr0m an article originally published in the SPLC's Intelligence Report, Summer 1999, titled "A History."  Obviously, the author of the anonymous Brief History simply copied the SPLC's article and, maintaining the original format, simply made changes to it.

One of the changes was to alter a paragraph referring to the nature of Ben Klassen's involvement in the 1968 George Wallace campaign.  The SPLC's article, published in 1999 says this:

1973 Benhardt "Ben" Klassen, a former Florida state legislator and state chairman of George Wallace's 1968 presidential campaign, announces the formation of the Church of the Creator (COTC) in Lighthouse Point, Fla.

In his COTC chronology published sometime after 2003, Harold Anonymous Covington has changed SPLC's sentence to this:

1973 - Benny Klassen, a former Florida state legislator and state chairman of "Jews for Wallace" during Wallace's 1968 presidential campaign, announces the formation of the Church of the Creator (COTC) in Lighthouse Point, Fla.

Apparently the anonymous historian deemed some of the SPLC's passages sufficiently hostile toward COTC as to require no further alteration, like this tidbit:

1990 - Declaring that church leadership would change "at the top of every decade, on the decade," Klassen announces that Rudy "Butch" STANKO-then serving a six-year sentence for selling tainted meat-will take over once he is released from prison.

According to Rudy STANKO the meat was not tainted.  STANKO was the owner of Cattle King Meat Packing ,  a very large meat-packing business that had been in his family for three generations.  Meat-packing is now owned mainly by Jews and STANKO says that they determined to eliminate him as a non-Jewish competitor.  The Score is STANKO's book about his ordeal.  A real, good-faith history of White nationalism would have given STANKO's side of the story instead of just reproducing the SPLC's hostile summation verbatim and without comment.

The reason why the SPLC's entries for 1997, 1998, and 1999 are reproduced in the Brief History without alteration or addition is probably that Ben Klassen by that time had been dead a few years, so that it was not practical to change those entries in a way that would make them  defamatory to him.
