A vote on same-sex marriage in federal parliament is looming, with Labor to move a bill next week and MPs predicting legislation will pass by the end of the year.Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has moved to head off a Greens bill by announcing he would bring his own legislation to parliament on June 1.'I have given notice that I will move a bill on Monday which will finally bring about marriage equality in Australia,' Mr Shorten tweeted on Tuesday.

Opponents of the bill have begun to lobby, saying Mr Shorten had failed to consider the consequences of changing the definition of marriage.Australian Christian Lobby director Lyle Shelton said it meant children would miss out on having a mum or dad.

'It is disappointing that Australia's alternative prime minister is legislating a family structure which requires a child to miss out on their mum or dad,' he said following the announcement.'I wonder if Mr Shorten has considered the consequences of changing the definition of marriage.'We urge parliamentarians to vote against the bill.

'But Labor frontbencher Anthony Albanese said his reading of the numbers showed there was now a favourable majority in both houses of parliament. In a surprise move, Mr Albanese torpedoed a push by his own Left faction for a binding vote on Labor MPs, calling for the retention of a conscience vote.

Labor deputy leader and Left faction member Tanya Plibersek, who will second Mr Shorten's motion, has called for a binding vote, arguing it is a matter of legal equality.'It is now time for Australia to join the nations that recognise people should be able to marry the person that they love,' Mr Albanese told parliament.'I strongly believe there should be a vote this year and it should be a conscience vote.

'He said Labor and the Liberals needed to respect that some MPs oppose the law change on the basis of their conscience.Prime Minister Tony Abbott has declined his frontbenchers a free vote, leading to the defeat of Labor private legislation in 2012.

However, the weekend success of a same-sex referendum in Ireland has led to calls to act in Australia.Cabinet minister Malcolm Turnbull expects parliament to legalise same-sex marriage before the end of the year.'I have never seen a social issue which has changed attitudes as rapidly as this one,' he said, adding his feeling was that legislation was 'very likely to pass'.Liberal MP Russell Broadbent, who opposes the laws, said he would be in favour of a free vote within his party.

But cabinet minister Ian Macfarlane says same-sex marriage is not a priority issue for the government and he will oppose it based on the views of his conservative Queensland electorate of Groom.Environment Minister Greg Hunt said he would be comfortable with allowing a free vote.Recent polls have put public support for gay marriage as high as 72 per cent.

That's all the white race needs! Poofters  getting married and raising kids from foreign sows or Lebsians getting their fag mates to blow on their dildos to get knocked up!

White kids born to fag parents don't count!

I was speaking to a guy that knew Paddy O'Sullivan as a young skinhead in Para Hills. They said he came from a dysfunctional violent household. Is it any surprise to you why he is a maniac? His dad belted him up regularly... he has a massive chip on his shoulder!

No one likes him, Australia First Party, Creators, Volksfront and the Southern Cross Hammer Skins all hate him and want nothing to do with him. One told me recently that even doing what he does for 30 years hasn't done any good and it is a testament to his mental illness that even though he has no followers, he still hasn't endeavoured to change his ways to attract others.

http://www.skynews.com.au/news/top-stories/2015/05/25/bikies-rejected--weird--monis.html?cid=BP_RSS_sn-topstories_3_bikies-rejected--weird--monis_250515

Sydney siege gunman Man Haron Monis tried to join the Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang but was rejected by the bikies, who thought he was 'weird' and took his motorbike. But Monis's attempt to become a bikie may have been another example of his ongoing personal quest for 'significance', the inquest into the siege has heard.

The inquest has heard Monis, the gunman who took 18 people hostage at the Lindt cafe in Martin Place on December 15, 2014, attempted to join two western Sydney chapters of the Rebels in 2012.

Junior counsel assisting, Sophie Callan, told the court investigators spoke to bikies, who declined to testify about Monis.'However one individual said that no one in the club liked him and he was 'weird'.

Another said he was strange and weird, that things didn't add up with him,' Ms Callan said.'Ultimately, he was rejected by the Rebels and they took his motorbike around the middle of 2013.'Photos tendered to the court show Monis in a black leather vest and a black T-shirt with the 'one percenter' symbol of outlaw motorcycle gangs.

The inquest has heard Monis, who styled himself as an Islamic cleric, had few friends and no standing with any of the people or groups he sought to influence.Counsel assisting, Jeremy Gormly SC, told the court that by 2014, after being charged over sexual assaults, being treated for episodes of mental illness and apparently being out of money, Monis looked like 'a man spiralling downwards'.

Ms Callan said while trying to join a bikie gang may seem an unremarkable chapter in Monis's life, his willingness to change his appearance, 'adopt the garb of a new persona' and his attraction to a group 'he perhaps saw as exercising power and influence' was not surprising.'His constant goal in life appears to have been achieving significance,' she said. -
