A SENIOR Chinese Communist Party member has purchased two cattle stations on the Northern Territory-Queensland border. 
 
The $47 million deal will see Xingfa Ma, who made his billions in the ball bearing business, acquire Queensland's Wentworth station and the NT's Wollogorang station – a property known for its shady criminal history as much as its beef production and natural beauty.

Mr Ma is listed by Bloomberg as a member of the Chinese Communist Party and a former member of the Zhejiang Committee of the National People's Congress.

According to Reuters, the sale was finalised this week and will see Mr Ma add to his portfolio of Australian pastoral properties: Balfour Downs, Emu Downs and Wandanya Station.

He will acquire 40,000 head of cattle along with more than 700,000ha of pastoral land, where a gang of notorious international criminals were once busted running a massive drug operation. Former member of the NT Police Drug Squad Dennis Hart said the drug plot came undone when the group tried to fly a shipment of drugs into Sydney.

ATSISPEP held a roundtable for more than 40 service providers in Darwin on Monday and NAIDOC 2015 Person of the Year, Rosalie Kunoth-Monks, said subtle assimilation policies were driving extraordinarily high rates of indigenous suicide.

"The assimilation process so far has failed, has failed to the extent that people are taking their own lives because they've been made to feel second-class; they've been made to feel less of a human being then the rest of Australians," she told reporters.

She said Aboriginal people in remote communities needed to be placed front and centre when it comes to developing strategies to fight suicide.

"Enough is enough: give us back our responsibility and I guarantee within a decade we will have brilliant black Australians accessing whatever they want to access, not only within Australia but throughout the world."

THE 17-year-old passenger of a Toyota HiLux has been hit with a $1260 fine after throwing fireworks at itinerants in the Parap area early on Monday morning. 
 
Police were able to track the young man back to an address in Berrimah after CCTV cameras in the Parap Village Shopping Centre captured images of the registration plates on the white Toyota.

Supreintendent Brendan Muldoon said the Parap incident saw fireworks being thrown from a moving car at itinerants *BOONGS*sleeping around the Parap commercial centre.

"CCTV picked up the vehicle and we got the registration number," Supt Muldoon said.
