Semenya Told To Take Gender Test



New world 800m champion Caster Semenya has been asked to take a gender test, according to athletics' governing body. The International Association of Athletics Federations says it demanded the test three weeks ago amid fears she should not be able to run as a woman. IAAF spokesman Nick Davies said the "extremely complex, difficult" test results were not due for several weeks. The South African athletics federation insists it is "completely sure" that Semenya, 18, is a female.

"We would not have entered her in the female competition if we had any doubts," said a statement. Semenya won gold in impressive fashion on Wednesday, leaving her rivals trailing as she won in a time of one minute, 55.45 seconds. Defending champion Janeth Jepkosgei was second, a massive 2.45 seconds adrift, with Britain's Jennifer Meadows taking bronze. Semenya did not attend a post-race news conference following her success, but IAAF secretary general Pierre Weiss did appear before the media.

"We know you want to talk to her, but she is young, she is inexperienced and she is not able to reply properly to all your questions," he said. "I will answer for her". The decision not to put her up was taken by the IAAF and the South African federation. "I repeat, she was not prepared for a situation like this". Weiss insisted the IAAF had handled the situation as best as it could and defended the timing of the announcement to test Semenya. "She was unknown three weeks ago," he said. "No one could have anticipated this. We are fast but we are not a lion". He added: "If it is proved that she is not a female, she will be withdrawn and the medals revised. At the moment, the athlete must be given the benefit of the doubt".

Semenya burst on to the world stage when she ran 1.56.72 in Bambous last month, smashing her previous personal best by more than seven seconds. She also broke Zola Budd's long-standing South African record and arrived here as the newly-crowned African junior champion. "In the case of this athlete, following her breakthrough in the African junior championships, the rumours, the gossip was starting to build up", said Davies. "The gender verification test is an extremely complex procedure. The situation today is that we do not have any conclusive evidence that she should not be allowed to run".

A group of doctors, including an endocrinologist, a gynaecologist, an internal medicine expert, an expert on gender and a psychologist, have started the testing procedure but it is uncertain when the results will be known. Weiss said testing was being done in Berlin and South Africa but admitted it was a complex issue. "At this stage, it's confusing,' he said. "Personally I have no clue what's going on [they never have a clue whats going on !]. I rely on and trust our doctors. We would have preferred not to have had a controversy".


Caster Semenya - is that a female name ? Rumour is that "she" is actually a "he' ... can you think of a more embarrassing test to undergo ? How did they know in the first place ?... I mean did someone see something ? Does it bulge in her shorts ? Does it speak with a deep voice ? Do these girls shower together ... or what ?
Now the IAAF says to determine sex is a difficult and complex procedure that takes weeks. Say what ? I thought it was a simple chromosome test 44XX or 44XY. I might be wrong, but if all else fails, I mean somebody can just have a look ... or what ? Has anybody ever thought of testing the Williams sisters ?

Chuene Shifts Semenya Blame To SA Racists

Chuene from ASA said he never had reason to suspect her gender despite the athlete's muscular physique, facial hair and deep voice. Semenya's father and coach have both assured in media reports that Semenya was indeed born a girl but it is far more complicated than a simple glance at her genitals at birth.

There is no doubt that Semenya believes she is female and was raised as a girl. But, if she was born with both male and female chromosomes, the IAAF must then decide - after numerous tests in a complicated procedure - whether Semenya can run against women. If the test results prove she is indeed entirely female, then case closed. Sort of.

Chuene went on to blame racist South Africans for writing letters to the IAAF which, he believes, triggered the governing body's probe into Semenya's gender. "This is about racism," Chuene said. "These rumours come from South Africa. Why did these people write to the IAAF ? "These are the same people who don't want the 2010 World Cup, the same people who bring black people down and the same people who refuse to believe that Africans can make it on the world stage".

Malema Must French-kiss His Girlfriend, Caster Semenya



Seeing that Malema is so convinced, Semenya is a woman ...there is only one way to solve this issue. Julias Malema should French kiss Semenya and Jacob Zuma can make "her" his tenth "wife".  Why, what is the problem ? Malema does not have a girlfriend, he is an "Inkwenkwe" (uncircumsized boy) and seeing that no woman wants him, he can share Semenya with Zuma. Zuma is forever looking for a new wife, so I think they should prove their loyalty to Semenya in public and their allegiance to women in general, because I see right through their bullcrap.

Personally I think Malema should be tested to see if he is really a man. Or he can just drop his shorts in public and we will all judge for ourselves. This idiot failed two high school grades as well as several subjects in his final secondary school examination. In fact, his marks were so low that they later attracted significant media attention. His highest mark attained at school was reported as a "C" for second language English and his lowest marks were published as an "H" (sub 33%) in maths and a "G" (sub 40%) in woodwork, all in the standard grade.

Just the vehement cries of Racism from the ANC peanut-gallery is enough to convince me they have something to hide. That Semenya is in fact a man. If Semenya was really a woman, they would just get the tests done, get it over and done with, prove to the world it is a woman and get on with there lives ... but no, they are jumping up and down, going totally nigger and shouting Racism as in the case of Zuma's trials and just like in the case of Zuma where the judiciary crumbled under public pressure, the Western World will crumble and truth will be sacrificed.

Malema can the one moment say the woman who charged Zuma with rape, enjoyed her ordeal, and that Helen Zille should not comment on circumcision "women are not allowed to speak about it" and the next moment he loves this so called "woman", Semenya. Wonder what in his opinion women ARE allowed to speak about ? He even called the DA youth organisation Helen Zille's garden boys and her concubines. Even inside the ANC he has called the butch minister of Education, Naledi Pandor speaking with a fake English accent ... funny ... I always thought she had a fake female accent, but never a fake English accent ...

War will be declared if the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) excludes South African gold medallist Caster Semenya because she is a hermaphrodite, Sport and Recreation Minister Makhenkesi Stofile said on Friday. It would be unjust to exclude Semenya from competing as a woman, Stofile said at a media briefing after it was widely reported that a leaked IAAF gender test result showed that Semenya was a hermaphrodite.

"I think it would be the third world war.[yeah right - with a "police force" fighting the "defence force"] We will go to the highest levels in contesting such a decision. I think it would be totally unfair and totally unjust." Mud Stofile said the department was consulting with its lawyers regarding the human rights violations against Semenya. "The ministry feels let down by the way this matter is being handled by those with devious vested interest, especially after being promised a meeting with the IAAF leadership. No one doubts her gender anymore. Now the issue of the percentages of her gender; this is unethical and disgusting." Stofile reiterated that Semenya was a girl even if reports were accurate that she was a hermaphrodite. They indicate that she is a hermaphrodite. For me that means nothing. The issue here is not whether she is a hermaphrodite or not. Where is the science that says they [hermaphrodites] have an advantage ?" Stofile asked.

The Limpopo Progressive Women's Movement - Semenya is from Limpopo - on Friday expressed hurt, anger and deep offence that Semenya's tests had been leaked to the media. "We want to urge all roleplayers in this sad saga to be more sensitive in how they handle it going forward. Stop the leaks, stop the double standards and stop hurting Caster and her family ... How can we victimise a national hero like this ?" The Movement called on IAAF to release Semenya's results so that the matter would be laid to rest even if she was a hermaphrodite."She is still God's child, made in the image of God. We love her and are very proud of her achievements," it said in a statement.
