March for Australia has organised rallies in each capital city and some regional towns, starting at 12pm on Sunday.

The organisation is demanding the federal government end 'mass migration', after leading nationwide protests for the same reason on August 31.

A March for Australia spokesman told Daily Mail on Tuesday that organisers were 'looking forward to another great turnout'.

'We've had a huge amount of positive feedback from our last event on August 31 and are excited for what we have in store for the 19th,' he said.

This marks the second instalment of the March for Australia rallies, organized nationwide to protest what organizers call 'mass migration'. An earlier demonstration in August led to a series of brawls and was attended by far-left extremists.

Protests and counter-protests were also organized across Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth, and Adelaide on Sunday.

Tens of thousands of Aussies demonstrated against immigration at March for Australia rallies around the country, but violence erupted in Melbourne where far-left extremists attacked police.

Flag-waving patriots gathered peacefully in every capital city on Sunday, including Melbourne where the only violence was between counter-demonstrators and police near Parliament House.

Victoria Police said a female Sergeant suffered a suspected broken hand and a male Senior Constable was also hospitalised for a non-life threatening laceration to his lower leg, while projectiles were thrown with such force that protective shields were cracked.

Described as "anti-racism demonstrators" by the corporate press, the far-left extremists threw large rocks, chunks of concrete, bottles filled with shards of broken glass and rotten fruit, burned flags and set rubbish bins on fire, police said.

Police Commander Wayne Cheeseman said the violence only involved the far-left, and praised the anti-immigration demonstrators for remaining peaceful and cooperating with police.

"People came to pick a fight with the police, the people that came to pick a fight with the police were the issue-motivated groups on the left," he said.

"I can tell you that the March for Australia group, they were peaceful, they were engaging, they listened to our instructions, they did what they were told, and they protested by example."

Police said they were forced to deploy flash distraction devices and OC spray, and arrested a 30-year-old Brunswick West woman, while investigations are underway to identify further offenders.

Far-left extremists were also seen attacking a small group of patriots near the rally at about 2.15pm, with a fight erupting after an Australian flag was stolen, The Age reported, while attendees carrying Israeli flags also sparked disputes at the main rally.

The violence comes after far-left extremist protesters attacked attendees at the first March for Australia rally on August 31 and vandalised their cars, and did the same at another patriotic demonstration on September 13.
