I up graded to IE8 and it keeps kicking me off the forum

But that's too easy. Your problem sounds like a standard problem we used to have when upgrading IE 5 to 5.5 and 6. Since I have never used IE 8 I'll advise the standard IE 6 and 7 techniques.

Go into your Tools menu, select Internet Options.
Go to the Privacy tab and make sure you are able to accept Cookies. The standard Privacy setting is Medium.

If cookies are the problem, and the options are there, this will fix it.
