Indigenous senator Lidia Thorpe has lashed out at the Voice referendum after being sent a "disgusting" video shows an apparent neo-Nazi burning the Aboriginal flag and threatening her.

In the video, a man in a balaclava who claims to be from neo-Nazi group Warriors for Convict Resistance reads a statement from his phone endorsing "white Australia".

He then makes racist statements about First Nations people before burning the flag and performing a Nazi salute.

The Australian Federal Police were made aware of the video on Tuesday when it was posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.

It has since been taken down and the account that posted it has been de-activated. The federal police are continuing to investigate.

On Thursday, Thorpe hit back, blaming the campaign on the Indigenous Voice referendum for increased abuse directed towards her.

"The referendum is an act of genocide against my people. And the Prime Minister knows exactly what he's doing," she said.

Thorpe – a former Greens senator from Victoria and a prominent campaigner for a No vote on the Voice – was surrounded by supporters while she made her statement.

She also accused Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the federal police of doing too little to protect her.

"His (Albanese's) violent force that he has sent to protect me can't even protect me, refuse to protect the black sovereign woman because the police are part of the problem in this country," she said.

"You want to paint me as an angry black woman, well you are about to see an angry black woman.

Conservative commentator Andrew Bolt has called out the selection  of Ray Martin for a prime time TV debate on the Indigenous Voice to Parliament, describing him as a 'white-faced' hand-picked "Aborigine"

Martin stirred controversy after delivering a speech at a Yes campaign event in Sydney. During his speech, he criticised the no campaign's slogan, 'If you don't know, vote No,' calling it nonsensical.

What that asinine slogan is saying is if you're a dinosaur or a dickhead who can't be bothered reading, then vote No,' Martin declared.

Bolt expressed disdain that Martin took part in the Sunday night Channel Seven forum as an Indigenous representative.

Daily Mail has confirmed Yes23 actually put forward Ray Martin after Indigenous Australians Minster Linda Burney refused to go on the show.

The other Indigenous spokespeople representing different sides of the Voice debate were Senators Jacinta Nampijinpa Price (LNP), Lidia Thorpe (independent) and Malarndirri McCarthy (Labor).

While Bolt accepted the Senators all had relatively recent Indigenous ancestry, he said that was not the case for Martin despite him being officially chosen as an Aboriginal representative for the Yes23 campaign.

'Why did Channel 7 add Martin, a white-faced superannuated TV presenter from decades ago?' Bolt wrote in Sunday's Herald Sun column.

Bolt questioned whether the veteran journalist and TV presenter should be counted as Indigenous when Martin's ancestry was almost entirely Irish except for an Aboriginal great-great grandmother, Bertha.

'To be fair, Martin doesn't go around identifying as Aboriginal, yet his single Aboriginal great-great-grandparent was important enough for Channel 7 to choose him as an 'Indigenous man',' Bolt wrote.

Noting the show producer's stated intent that they did not want 'white people talking for' Indigenous people, Bolt questioned whether Martin was 'really Aboriginal in any meaningful way?'

This question led Bolt to question the validity of the Indigenous Voice to Parliament.

'Just one of his 16 great-great-grandparents was Aboriginal, so why does that one define Martin more than the other 15?' Bolt asked.

'Why does that one great-great-grandparent privilege him in a debate, or qualify him to be represented by a Voice to Parliament in the Constitution – unlike anyone of any other 'race'?

'What an insult to our individuality to assign people to a victim race because of a single ancestor 150 years ago or even more.'

In looking at the illustrious panel of three elected senators and one famous TV personality, Bolt also questioned whether Indigenous people did not already have a 'voice.

'Millions and millions of other Australians will never have a Voice as loud as any of these Aborigines have already,' Bolt wrote, saying the debate heaped 'absurdity upon absurdity

'How mad to divide us by race so crudely that even a Ray Martin could get a Voice in the constitution to speak for him, but not for the 97 per cent of Australians who don't also have a great-great-grandmother of the 'right' race,' Bolt wrote.

The referendum to constitutionally recognise Indigenous people by establishing the Voice will be held on Saturday.

To pass it needs to get the approval of a majority of voters but also win in a majority of states.

Voter surveys have delivered little but bad news to the Yes23 campaign for the past month.

Tensions broke out between an Indigenous actor and Liberal MP on ABC's Q+A program, after he agreed colonisation has been a "good thing" for society

A Liberal MP was called "disgusting" by an Indigenous actor in a fiery clash on ABC's Q+A program after defending senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price's views on colonisation.

Tensions broke out on Monday night's program when James Stevens, Member for Sturt, was asked about Senator Price's claim that British colonisation has had "no ongoing negative impacts" on Indigenous Australians.

"As a No supporter, how comfortable are you being associated with a campaign that continues to spread misinformation and disinformation .... How do you feel being associated with Senator Jacinta Price?" an audience member asked Mr Stevens

"I respect Senator Price, she's more entitled than me to make those sorts of comments," he replied, when pushed by host Patricia Karvelas to address Senator Price's remarks.

"I think she holds an opinion that should be respected and others with different opinions should be respected as well."

When again pushed for his opinion, Mr Stevens continued to avoid the question.

He eventually conceded, saying, "I think European colonisation has been an overwhelmingly good thing for the great society that we live in".

Met with boos from the audience he continued: ...

"I am a proud Australian, I am proud of our Indigenous culture.

"I am proud of the English institutions that came to this country. I am proud of the multicultural community that we have.

"I am very proud of this country and I think Jacinta Price is a great Australian and she is very entitled to put her views forward."

His comments were quickly blasted by fellow panellist, Indigenous actor and proud Kaurna Narungga Ngarrindjeri and Nyoongar woman Natasha Wanganeen.

"And this is exactly why I am sitting here," she said.

"That is disgusting language. I cannot believe you. You are disgusting, bro," she added as the audience erupted in applause

"Any politician that sits there and says stuff like this, their heart is not in the right space, your spirit is wrong, bro.

"And any politicians that sit here and ask me to be Australian, I don't want to be that. I am a Narungga, Nyoongar Ngarrindjeri and Kaurna woman.

"I hope you go home and think about what you said tonight, I seriously do."

Mr Stevens did not respond to Ms Wanganeen.

As the debate continued, Mr Stevens was asked if he agreed with No campaigner Warren Mundine's claim that the Uluru Statement from the Heart is a "symbolic declaration of war".

"I wouldn't use those words no," he responded. "Warren Mundine can speak for himself."

Senator Price earlier sparked controversy when she claimed colonisation had a "positive impact" on Indigenous Australians during an address at the National Press Club in September.

"I mean, now we've got running water, we've got readily available food," she said.

"I mean everything my grandfather had when he was growing up, because he first saw whitefellas in his early adolescence, we now have."

Indigenous Australians Minister Linda Burney later condemned Senator Price's comments, labelling them "offensive" and a "betrayal".

Australians will have their say on the Voice to parliament in four days when the referendum is held on October 14.
