Excerpt: An incorrect claim by an ABC political reporter that Aboriginal Australians are the subject of an 'ongoing genocide' has been allowed to go unchallenged on the influential Insiders program.

And that's prompted the Opposition's shadow minister for Indigenous Australians Jacinta Nampijinpa Price to demand the broadcaster 'rein their activist reporters in'.

Federal political reporter Dana Morse told ABC TV's Insiders on Sunday that those protesting Australia Day being held on January 26 'are protesting about the invasion, they are protesting about the genocide of Aboriginal people that is ongoing today'.

The ABC later tweeted out Ms Morse's statements, but edited out her false genocide claims. 

Instead, the clip they posted showed her hitting out at the federal Opposition leader Peter Dutton's strategy regarding The Voice referendum debate, accusing him of 'sowing division and doubt'.

'It's really entirely in keeping with someone of Peter Dutton's political tenure over the years, this has been the game he's played over a number of years, particularly when it involves minority groups and people of colour'.

The fact her commentary aired unchallenged on Sunday's show was slammed by both Senator Price and 'No' campaign leader Warren Mundine, who said the national broadcaster was airing 'false information'.

Mr Mundine added that claims there is an ongoing Aboriginal genocide are 'rubbish'.

The comments follow [a forced] apology by the ABC in February after an ABC reporter claimed a meeting in Alice Springs to address crime and violence had been a 'disgusting show of WHITE SUPREMACY'.

'There is no genocide being perpetrated today, and comments saying there is have no place on public airwaves', Nampijinpa Price told The Australian.

'I've called on the ABC ­previously to control their staff and ensure balanced and impartial voice commentary, but once again an ABC so-called reporter has been allowed to spew divisive and false information without being pulled up by the host,' Ms Price said.

'The No campaign has tried to work with the ABC to ensure ­balance. I personally have done six ABC appearances on TV and radio in less than a week, but their bias in this referendum is still on full display and the ABC bosses must do more to rein in their activist employees.'

No campaign leader Warren Mundine added that the last 56 years since the 1967 referendum had led to vast improvements in the lives of Aboriginal people.

I can tell you about FEELINGS and FACTS. I was at a shopping centre the other day and some coon tried it on me. I stood my ground and didn't back down and the subhuman piece of *skin buggered off. It was a common, nothing occurrence not worth mentioning, but it's a FACT OF LIFE for Whites living with Australia's Wonderful, Sacred Aboriginal People. Abos are violent, subhuman scum, against which I FEEL all White Australians must be prepared to fight anywhere, anytime, day or not.

Furthermore, White Australians cannot call the police for assistance. Whites do not have any choice other than to fight and win, or lie down and accept that you will be beaten - possibly killed but definitely left with permanent injuries - and robbed of all your possessions, and hope that you survive the beating. Whether you fight back or not, if you call the police, you will be threatened with criminal charges by the police. So your choice is to either lie down and surrender your life, or fight back and stomp that coon's head into the ground, smash its phone and take its identification - because when it loses, it will call the police and it will have you arrested.

But many sharply criticised Senator Dodson for comparing it to Beijing's human rights record.

Critics claimed a failed referendum didn't come close to the human atrocities that had been committed in China.

Senator Dodson said while he wouldn't 'despair' if the Voice was not established, it would be a 'great day of reckoning for {White} Australians'.

MPs overseeing the official brochure for the 'no' case in the Indigenous Voice to Parliament referendum are refusing to say whether it will include an inflammatory claim by Senator Pauline Hanson debunked as a falsehood by experts.

The clash over the issue puts two leading campaigners on the 'no' side of the debate on a collision course over a critical piece of public information about the referendum – but one that is not legally required to be accurate

There are less than two weeks remaining for the official 'yes' and 'no' cases for the Indigenous Voice referendum to finalise the wording of an official information pamphlet to be distributed to all Australian households

Ensuring that the hard-copy pamphlet would be sent to 12 million households was a key demand made by Opposition Leader Peter Dutton during negotiations over a recently passed bill allowing for the referendum to be held.

Politicians who voted in favour of a recently passed constitutional alteration bill can contribute to the 'yes' essay and vice versa; their contents must be authorised by a majority on either side.

Essay excerpts

Senator Hanson is pushing for the inclusion of excerpts from her own 2000-word essay on the subject.

It alleges that the Voice would "effectively undo the great achievement of the 1967 referendum" which led to Indigenous Australians being counted as people in the Census for the first time by undermining constitutional equality.

The Voice would, the essay claims "be a vehicle for constant litigation in the High Court, resulting in multiple constitutional crises".

Changes flowing from the referendum, it claims, could lead to "hundreds of millions" of dollars in legal settlements, the cost of which would be borne by "non-Indigenous taxpayers".

"As these cases are being decided, Parliament and the executive government will be left effectively powerless and constantly subordinate to the Voice," the essay asserts.

That claim is made despite the proposed amendment to the Constitution including a clause that would explicitly reaffirm the status of the Voice, an advisory body, as subordinate to the Parliament.

Legal experts agree that the Voice, if established, would not come at the expense of the sovereignty of the Parliament.

Neither of the chairs of the parliamentary group producing the 'no' case, Coalition senators Jacinta Nampijinpa Price and Paul Scarr, said on Tuesday night whether Ms Hanson's contribution could be included.

The issue could potentially create a fissure in the 'no' camp after Nationals Leader David Littleproud – who is Ms Price's party leader – previously said he did not support the inclusion of contributions from Ms Hanson of that nature.

"I'm committed to making sure that not only the tone but also the pamphlets [are] factual," he said last month.

Despite carrying the official status of public information material for a referendum, there is no obligation on the material contained within the pamphlet to be accurate.

"The Nationals have the majority on the No pamphlet committee, and we will ensure that its content is respectful in tone," Mr Littleproud told TND.
Senator Lidia Thorpe, who rejects the Voice on the grounds that it is an unacceptable compromise of Indigenous sovereignty, has meanwhile been pushing for the inclusion of a progressive case against the referendum in the official pamphlet.

Senator Hanson has been outspoken in her opposition to those arguments being carried in the publication.
