I don't get it? Badges near the door handles? I put them on the lower back doors, because that's what they did at the factory.

I also have magnetic CREATOR FLAGS at near a foot long, that I can chuck on anytime I like.
I chuck them on when I have to pick up CREATORS from the airport.

You have a point, but I prefer to have them near my door handles because, for me, it attracts more attention that way.

I wonder if a 600 cu motor can be daily driven or would it over heat or prematurely wear out in the traffic

In this spec it'd probably be a bit impractical and the fuel bill would be be horrific at $5.00 + per litre for race fuel, but there's only reason why you couldn't build a tamed down street version of such an engine if there is enough cooling system/passages designed into the block internally.

My Bike is due for new tires ...

Tyres: The last I bought I went for an oversized front and the phattest phucker possible at the back - the previous pair of tyers included a rear slick with a centre groove so deep it poured out water directly on the rider behind me.

As you can see, the last set were quite standard, but they were what I liked. I also liked the look of the slick, but it aint good for riding with a club - unless you want to ride tail-end-charlie all the time.

See that groove in the front centre? It delivers more water to your face than ever. Not good without a front guard.

The Honda Rebel always has a nice note, but it's only as loud without baffles as a 60's and back Triumph Tiger 650 or 750 Bonneville or Trophy with baffles - which do sound frigging good. But then, what should you expect? They are all vertical twins with excellent handling. What's important though is the Honda Rebel is a good safe bike to learn to ride on. It's also a good bike to learn to customise with. Engineers can experiment, and the poor, like me, can get the bolt-on parts these days that we only dreamt about having custom manufactured in the 80's - because everything custom is/was so frigging expensive.

Here's two different styles that builders have gone for. What I want is a cross between the two. Basically I want a fat bike with a 10 Litre Frisco Sportster Tank. I also want the option to change from extreme wide cow bars to medium ape hangers. If you've ridden long, you know why. And maybe from a 10L Sportster tank to a fat phuck of a tank. Why not? If I'm building it, I can do anything!

Bigger tank and higher bars? This aint England. In Australia ...

There's also a bloke in Pommieland that has built himself a springer front end for the Honda Rebel and does a lot of work that could be useful for anyone without experience. If you like bikes and you like working on your own, take a look; you'll be impressed.

I hated my Honda 750 Four Supersports that I got after my Rebel. I disliked my Honda 350 Triple I got after that - although I did wonder about chucking the 350 into the Rebel frame ....

I'll do the Rebel, and then I'll straight away begin looking for a motor - Yamaha XS 650 or Suzuki Savage ... I don't care. Get the motor, get the frame, and build the bike with the fattest triple trees I can. Use the Honda Rebel as the template. I'm poor - the JOG long ago told me that I am not permitted to work - but bikes are easier than cars, and I WILL DO IT.

Ten years to do my car. I can do two bikes in less, because I can do most of the work myself! And anything I cannot do myself, I can dictate. RAHOWA CoC!
