Britain has agreed to take refugees in from Rwanda under Priti Patel's landmark deal, it has emerged.

Those who fled war or persecution and were granted asylum status by Rwanda will be able to come to the UK under a reciprocal scheme signed by the Home Secretary last week
The crucial detail in the agreement's small print – which could lead critics to reappraise the agreement – emerged only after Miss Patel returned from the East African nation on Friday.

It states: 'The participants will make arrangements for the United Kingdom to resettle a portion of Rwanda's most vulnerable refugees in the United Kingdom, recognising both participants' commitment towards providing better international protection for refugees.'

A Home Office source said it would apply to 'a number in the tens, not hundreds' of people who have already been granted refugee status in Rwanda.

However, the agreement states no limit. The refugees who are brought to this country are likely to be those with the most complex needs, it is understood, such as those with physical or mental health problems.

Details set out in a 'memorandum of understanding' between the UK and Rwanda reveals that victims of modern slavery and trafficking could be sent to Rwanda under the scheme.

After a migrant arrives in Britain and is selected for transfer to Rwanda, the Home Office will provide them with a travel document if they do not have a passport, the deal's small print adds.

This aspect could be vulnerable to legal challenge, it is thought.

But the Home Office's top civil servant claimed in a letter to Miss Patel that the Rwanda scheme is 'entirely appropriate' given the scale of the crisis.

Matthew Rycroft, the department's permanent secretary, said it was 'regular, proper and feasible for this policy to proceed

A government spokesman said: 'Rwanda is leading in supporting the UN High Commissioner for Refugees... and as its partner, the UK will support this effort by resettling a portion of the most vulnerable refugees currently in Rwanda.'

Under the agreement made last Thursday, asylum seekers who arrive in Britain through 'irregular' routes – such as across the Channel in small boats – will be removed on Home Office charter flights to Rwanda

The scheme will apply to everyone who has arrived illegally since January 1. Downing Street hopes the first removal flights will take place by the end of next month

Figures released yesterday showed 255 migrants arrived from France on Saturday. Overall, 6,266 migrants have made it to Britain so far this year – a figure not reached last year until July.

Cabinet minister Jacob Rees-Mogg yesterday told Radio 4's The World This Weekend that the plan would benefit the East African nation.

'What is being done is providing an opportunity for Rwanda... a country that has gone through terrible troubles. The Rwandan story is almost an Easter story of redemption, isn't it?'



How about UK gets some African crap from Rwanda in exchange for other African and middle eastern crap (that came on boats illegally) to be somehow resettled peacefully in Rwanda?! How's that going to work?!

STOCKHOLM, April 15 (Reuters) - Violent riots erupted in the central Swedish city of Orebro on Friday as counter-protesters attacked police ahead of a planned right-wing extremist demonstration

Police said on its website that four police cars had been set on fire and at least four police officers and one private individual had been injured as protesters threw stones and large groups attacked police cordons and tore down riot fences

The demonstration, which had received police permission, was organised by Rasmus Paludan, leader of Danish far-right political party Hard Line. Police disbanded the demonstration to calm the situation, and later in the evening said most counter-demonstrators had left the area.

A number of counter-protests against planned demonstrations by Paludan, some of which were cancelled, in Swedish cities have turned violent this week. Swedish news agency TT said violence erupted in the Stockholm suburb of Rinkeby after Paludan earlier on Friday set fire there to a copy of the Quran

Police said some of the officers taken to hospital had, among other things, suspected arm fractures.

So you get consent for a demonstration and leftards/commies attend and make trouble, hurt the cops who are their to keep the peace.

Some people don't like their fine country getting destroyed by globalisation/force fed immigration, a demonstration is the right way to talk about it.... But to the :- commies, mud people now in the system that is off the table?!

Mohammed Rahman Arsala, 32, moved to Saint-Brieuc in northern France in 2018 where he committed a string of offences

He was jailed last year for 15 years for raping a 12-year-old boy and was hauled back before the courts last week to answer for further offences against children.

The court heard in July 2021 how Arsala followed the underage boy off a bus, grabbed his arm and took him to an abandoned warehouse to carry out the attack in August 2018.

After returning the boy to the park, a group of underage girls who had previously been bothered by Arsala saw the distressed look on the boy's face and alerted police and he was arrested later that day

The defence lawyer asked the judge to consider the 'cultural element' of the case, saying it was common practice for men to abuse underage boys in Afghanistan.

The defendant said: 'In my country, it is normal to have sexual relations with young boys because women are inaccessible. When I arrived in France I did not know your laws, but since I learned that it was prohibited'.

The practice of Bacha Bazi is illegal in Afghanistan but perpetrators are rarely punished, with many powerful officials taking part.

Prosecutors said of the defendant: 'He tells us that if he had been married, that would never have happened because he would have had a wife to satisfy his needs... But does he, therefore, see others only as objects?'

Last week, Arsala was taken from his cell in Brest to answer for other sex crimes committed in France.

Before the rape of the 12-year-old boy, the sex criminal assaulted and harassed two underage girls.

In April 2018, he approached one girl claiming to need help in his broken English and lured her to his room where he locked the door.

The young victim said, according to Actu: 'He slammed me against the wall holding me down with his knee, he was way too strong, I was trying to resist, but I couldn't get away, he was trying to kiss me and tear my clothes off, I was terrified, he ended up telling me that if I wanted to leave I had to touch his penis.

'When I told him I would call the police, he immediately opened the door.'

Just days later, she was hospitalised after a suicide attempt, which happened another five times.

Arsala said in court: 'I wanted to touch her a little, but she wouldn't. If she was a decent girl, she wouldn't have come up to my room.'

The following month, another underage girl filed a complaint with police, saying he had pleaded with her to have sex with him.

She said: 'He was insistent and pursued me, I was very scared, I warned my parents who called the police.'

Arsala was jailed for a further three years for the two attacks against the young girls, extending his prison sentence to 18 years.

After serving his term, he will be deported from France.

The sex pest has also been accused of taking photos of young children at school while others reported him masturbating on a beach

'What we do need to do is be very honest about the challenges that the ECHR, these European laws, have on our ability to grapple with this problem.

'I've said that no options should be off the table. We have a new British Bill of Rights that's being introduced into parliament that I believe will help solve the challenges

'And I've put some other further points in the plan today saying how we could do things differently from the European Convention to strengthen our ability to deport people who shouldn't be here and protect our borders.

'I want people to know this is a very serious issue. It is a priority for me. It's a priority for the country.'

Great Britain has become used to occasional flashes of public disorder and even rioting in recent years.

But seeing a 200-strong mob of masked Muslim men surrounding a Hindu temple in Smethwick, near Birmingham, this week was more than shocking — it was terrifying.

As the group screamed 'Allahu Akbar!' outside the sacred site, dozens of police in riot gear struggled to keep order. Bottles and fireworks were thrown and at least one knife-carrying man was arrested.

This was only the most recent clash in the Midlands between hardline Hindus and Muslims

Leicester, some 50 miles from Smethwick, has witnessed similar violence over the past month or so, with gangs of Muslim men attacking Hindu-owned property; mobs of Hindu men carrying weapons and chanting in the streets; and even unconfirmed reports of a Muslim man burning a Hindu flag.

At least 25 officers and a police dog were injured in violent clashes in Leicester last weekend.

What on earth is going on?

The violence seems to have been sparked following a cricket match in August between India and Pakistan in Dubai, after which India fans gathered in Leicester screaming 'Pakistan Murdabad!' ('Death to Pakistan!')

The clashes have continued throughout September, and some 47 people have now been arrested in Leicester

That city was once held up as a paragon of social cohesion, a model for British multi-culturalism. But cracks are beginning to appear in this cheery narrative.

Indeed, the situation there is now extremely serious, and could prove deadly soon.

I'm of Bangladeshi Muslim origin, so I know very well how deeply migrants and their immediate successors have enriched British life — and how people of all faiths and none can thrive in this country.

Britain remains the world's most successful example of a multi-ethnic, religiously diverse democracy, and we should all be proud of that. But the harmony between different communities must be nurtured, or it risks crumbling away.

For years — including for my PhD — I have studied the best means of helping people from ethnic minorities integrate into British life.

My current research is even more timely: I am examining the ideologies that threaten cohesion in Britain, including home-grown extremism and foreign-inspired sectarianism.

Both of these, sadly, appear to have been on ugly display in Leicester and Smethwick.

The fact is that ultra-religious identity politics — not to mention political grievances on the other side of the world — have gained a foothold in British cities, with increasingly alarming results. Unless we take drastic action to staunch this poison, it will spread.

In Luton, where I grew up, such tensions are never far from the surface. Back in 2009, I watched as angry scenes flared during a parade for the Royal Anglian Regiment.

These soldiers, who had gallantly served in Iraq, were branded the 'butchers of Basra' by an angry crowd of largely Muslim young men.

The far-Right English Defence League (EDL) was formed in the aftermath of these unpleasant scenes: for a time, it seemed as if my beloved Luton might spiral out of control.

Order was eventually restored there, thank goodness. But the question now is: why have political differences that fester thousands of miles away erupted into violence in Britain?

There is no doubt that, as police have warned, fake news on social media is playing a crucial part — with claims of 'hate incidents' used to whip people up into a state of fury on both sides.

Hindutva (extremist Hindu) and Islamist activists are believed to have been travelling from across Britain to inflame tensions in Leicester, spurred by lurid claims that they have read online.

Indeed, at Smethwick, one masked Muslim demonstrator said his group was targeting Hindu nationalists that he alleged were travelling across Britain looking for trouble
'If you come in, you're going to get met by us every single time,' he said. 'So if you are coming to Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham, London, just give us a time and a place and we're there.'

But the internet is only part of the story. The roots of this problem also lie in a failure of leadership from both national and local politicians.

Councillors should properly focus on the bread-and-butter issues that matter to us all: the cost of living, employment, education and healthcare.

Instead, in some British towns with large immigrant populations, councillors and community leaders increasingly focus on issues far beyond our shores — the longstanding tensions between India and Pakistan over the disputed Kashmir region, for example, or the overt Hindu nationalism of Indian prime minister Narendra Modi.

Lamentable

During the last local elections, representatives of the so-called 'Overseas Friends' of the BJP, India's ruling party, visited community groups in Leicester and Slough, among others, and firmly told them how to vote.

They drove voters away from Labour and towards the Conservatives, owing to the latter's stance on the disputed region of Kashmir.

You and I could spend all day arguing whether India or Pakistan has the better claim to Kashmir. But the fact is that events there are a long way from Britain — where, perhaps, it matters just as much whether or not your bins are being collected on time

The fact is that no one — least of all the representatives of a foreign political party — should be telling communities in Britain how to vote. To do so undermines the integrity of our very democracy.

Worse, some British politicians have been actively partisan, fraternising with divisive organisations and wading into these inflammatory issues in a shameless bid to win votes.

The disgraced ex-Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, for example, has previously showered praise on the Islamic Human Rights Commission — a band of Iran-linked rogues — in a bid to garner votes from British Shia Muslims.

Fixing this lamentable state of affairs will require a radical overhaul of our current thinking. It must start with us acknowledging that British multiculturalism has failed on some of its own terms.

Petty

Yes, it has brought tremendous benefits to our economy and our civic life, and in exposing Britons to new cultures.

Yet, at times, it has also promoted the 'rights' of individual creeds and faiths — emphasising the differences between cultures, that is, instead of urging all migrants to this country to respect hard-won British principles such as the rule of law, equality of opportunity and democracy.

This inclusive civic identity is a joyful thing — one that was poignantly illustrated by the way people of all ages and faiths came together to mourn our late Queen

It is these values — and not petty cultural or tribal differences — that should be winning votes.

Regional police forces, meanwhile, need to cooperate far better. In Leicester, the local constabulary has been ill-equipped to deal with an apparent influx of out-of-town agitators. The intelligence services also need to play their part.

Finally, and perhaps most crucially, post-Brexit Britain needs a more streamlined immigration and asylum system that places social cohesion and public security at its core.

Diversity can be a strength, but only if it goes hand-in-hand with an emphasis on shared values, our common obligations to one another and mutual respect. Without those, even the most apparently peaceable communities can unravel fast, as events in Leicester and Smethwick have shown


They just continue to dream that we can all get along in a perfect world! It's a nice idea but "Every Rose has it's thorn". They let that many non whites in there that are driven by alien ideologies it is beyond control and has become a "free for all".

Logically ... where do you think these foreign warring parties belong? If you aren't going to keep them , go parachute them on an enemy nation , they'll at least achieve something good in their lives!
