Alice Springs Councillor Jacinta Price has told Sky News of the "reality of the circumstances" occurring in remote communities which the weekend's Black Lives Matter protesters "care zero for".

Ms Price said watching the footage of the protesters and the conversations around 'white privilege' "make me sick to my stomach" and labelled the protesters as "narcissists" who don't care about "anyone else's lives than their own".

"The idea that they can pump themselves up, make themselves feel virtuous ... half the time these protesters and these supporters don't really know what it is they're attempting to support".

Mrs Price lambasted the "ignorance that's being bred through the Left right now" who seemingly ignore that almost "70 per cent of Aboriginal men and women incarcerated are incarcerated for acts of violence against their loves ones

Victoria Police officers were guarding Captain Cook's Cottage on Sunday as Black Lives Matter activists defaced historical monuments across the country.

The police operation was carried out on the same day NSW Police charged two women, aged 27 and 28, after a Captain Cook statue in Sydney's Hyde Park was vandalised.

Police were alerted to graffiti on the statue about 4am on Sunday and arrested the two women on College Street in the CBD, NSW Police said in a statement

It appeared Victoria Police was anticipating a similar attack on Sunday, with several officers watching over Captain Cook's heritage-listed cottage in Melbourne's Fitzroy Gardens

Across the country, protesters have vandalised several statues of divisive historical figures as part of the global Black Lives Matter movement.

In the Victorian town of Ballarat, bronze busts of former Liberal Australian prime ministers Tony Abbott and John Howard were found covered in red spray paint on Saturday morning.

The statues have since been wrapped and fenced off

On Friday in Perth, a statue of Captain James Stirling – the first governor of the colony of Western Australia – was also defaced with red paint.

The statue's neck and hands were painted red and an Aboriginal flag was painted over the inscription at the base.

A 30-year-old man has been charged with criminal damage or destruction of property


Statues of explorers and slave traders are considered offensive to Indigenous Australians because they are painful reminders of their ancestors' suffering at the hands of the British Empire.

Between 1794 and 1928, there were at least 270 frontier massacres of Aboriginal people as part of an organised attempt at genocide, according to figures from The Guardian.

As part of the Black Lives Matter protests sweeping the globe, there have been renewed calls to destroy or vandalise these statues.

So the Boongs think it is acceptable to destroy white monuments? If I went to a sacred site of theirs and disrespected it there would be outrage!

If I went to some of the Japanese monuments /attractions around Australia and trashed them because I took umbrage to an attempted Japanese invasion most people wouldn't see that as being fair and reasonable ! Not to the Japs who peacefully live in my community.
Or the fact Australia fought Afghans too And they have a monument.

There are plenty of Abo statues and memorials across Australia, and as @Br.IanVonTurpie pointed, there plenty of Afghan, Jap, statues, memorials and China Towns across Australia. There's always Abo flags and example of Abo art to tear down everywhere across this country.

If this becomes a concerted campaign to legally or illegally tear down and remove White History, then EVERYTHING NON-WHITE IS FAIR GAME. Remove all evidence that non-Whites have ever existed in Australia.

For the time being, however, we can afford to bide our time. Wait out this CHINESE DEATH VIRUS. Allow the BLACK PLAGUE to become infected and die out. Give the government a chance to do the right thing - and when they don't, we shitstir the melting pot of hate. By then it'll be war on the streets and only the BLUE NIGGERS will be in our way.

An Indigenous town councillor from Central Australia has slammed foreign aid charity World Vision for suggesting coronavirus had reminded Aboriginal children about diseases brought to Australia by white colonialists

Jacinta Price, from Alice Springs Town Council, said the charity's 30-second video did more to 'drive the racial divide and ingrain fear of our government and police in our children's hearts

The World Vision video features a woman suggesting COVID-19 had made children recall how Europeans had brought diseases into Australia

'One of the issues is this disease is bringing back family trauma, re-traumatising families thinking about the disease which were imported into Australia in settler times,' she said.

World Vision also argued lockdowns, still in force in Melbourne, had reminded Aboriginal people about 'being told what to do constantly by the government and having a real fear of government and of police'.

Ms Price, who has Indigenous Warlpiri and Celtic heritage, said this kind of campaign only encouraged children to hate police and did nothing to reduce the high rates of Aboriginal incarceration.

'Let's not teach our kids to calmly behave in a considerate manner during a pandemic let's blame colonisation, government and police instead,' she said

'COVID-19 came from China not from anywhere else, but that's right, we're not about talking facts here.'

Ms Price, who ran as a Country Liberal Party candidate at the last federal election, described the World Vision video as 'propaganda'.

'I mean seriously where do you get these people from and the soundtrack for extra dramatic effect?,' she said

Victorian State Premier, Daniel Andrews has been slammed for cracking down on the anti-lockdown protests after letting thousands of people gather for Black Lives Matter rallies in June.

Up to 200 protesters descended on Melbourne and clashed with police as the 'Freedom Day' rally spiralled out of control on Saturday.

Frustrated activists, furious with Mr Andrew's Stage Four lockdown, turned out in their droves to demand restrictions come to an end.

One crowd faced off with police on horseback as they chanted 'freedom' as officers arrested 17 people and gave out more than 160 fines.

The heated demonstration came months after 10,000 Melburnians took to the streets for the Black Lives Matter protests, when police were encouraged to 'exercise their discretion' when issuing fines.

Despite the massive crowds, only three fines were issued during the June rally.

The major differences between both rallies saw Mr Andrews' slammed on social media for the double-standard.

A Federal Court judge has approved a defamation settlement between Daily Telegraph columnist Miranda Devine and a nine-year-old Indigenous boy, after she apologised for tweets suggesting he faked being a bullying victim.

On Friday, (((Justice Anna Katzmann))) said she was satisfied the confidential settlement, including a "not insubstantial" amount of money, was in Quaden Bayles' best interests. The court was required to approve the settlement because he is a minor, and the court heard such claims were unusual.

Quaden Bayles was suing Miranda Devine over comments made on Twitter.

The Brisbane school boy, who has achondroplasia dwarfism, launched defamation proceedings against Devine and her employer Nationwide News in July over a series of tweets from her Twitter account in February that raised questions about whether a viral video in which he cried after being bullied at school was "a scam".

The case was brought on his behalf by his mother Yarraka, who was also suing Devine in her own right for suggesting she "coached" Quaden.

Nationwide News, the publisher of the Telegraph, had taken the unusual step of briefing a lawyer to appear only on its behalf in court. It claimed tweets from the prominent columnist's public Twitter account, which identified her as an employee, were "private" and unrelated to material it published.

Devine did not appear in court, either in person or via a lawyer, until the settlement hearing on Friday when Holding Redlich partner Susan Goodman appeared on her behalf.

The settlement covers all four parties including Nationwide News. It is unclear whether either or both Devine and the company will cover the settlement plus legal costs.

Justice Katzmann said the settlement involved "pecuniary and non-pecuniary" elements and the money would be paid into a trust for Quaden, with his mother and her sister appointed as trustees.

The terms of the settlement are confidential but reports have suggested the family will receive almost $200,000.

The barrister for the Bayles family, Sue Chrysanthou, said Devine had tweeted a "sincere and detailed apology" last Saturday and "those sorts of apologies can't be ordered by the court".

Devine, who is on secondment at The New York Post, tweeted: "In February this year I posted some comments on my personal Twitter account about Quaden Bayles and his mother Yarraka.

"I now know those comments were hurtful and untrue. I sincerely apologise to the Bayles for those comments."

Yarraka Bayles said the family was "very happy with that settlement" and "very appreciative" of their lawyers.
