Cyprus: A Dozen Jews Rape British Girl

A British woman has allegedly been gang raped in a Cyprus hotel with police arresting 12 Israeli tourists.

The dozen men were detained in Cyprus after the 19-year-old reported being raped in the resort town of Ayia Napan.

Israel's Foreign Office said it was aware of the case and in contact with those arrested.

"The Israeli consul in Nicosia, Yossi Wurmbrand, is following developments and is in contact with the detainees. Their families have been updated," the ministry said.

The alleged victim was said to be having medical treatment.

The mother of one of the suspects told Channel 12 her son didn't speak English well and could not understand the legal process he was being subjected to.

According to her he called her "in tears" and said "I didn't do anything."

The Jerusalem Post reports two members of the Israeli group struck up a friendship with the alleged victim, with one of the two helping the other with the English to Hebrew communication.

The men were due to start their army service and deny the allegations.

According to the Jerusalem Post "a large group of British people began beating up Israelis" they thought were close to the room of the 19-year-old British person once news of the alleged crime spread in the hotel.

WTF..  I don't see how this gang rape thing could even grow in a culture..  This happens a lot in middle eastern countries..  First I heard of it was from an Egyptian news article.
