Tourists watched open-mouthed as the semi-inflatable Zodiac carrying around 50 Moroccans - including about ten children - beached near a luxury hotel area on Spain's Costa de la Luz. Footage shows refugees sprinting up the popular Barrosa Beach at about 3.30pm on Sunday before attempting to scale cliffs. The incident happened near a purpose-built residential and tourist resort called Sancti Petri which boasts shops, restaurants and several four and five-star hotels. A tourist filming the scene could be heard saying in Spanish as the migrants leapt from their boat: 'They're heading for the all-inclusive Melia Sancti Petri. Look, look, look.' Last month around 50 migrants were filmed landing on a packed beach and running up the sand at a beach in Zahora a half-hour drive away. Spain has this year overtaken Italy as the preferred destination for migrant arrivals in Europe.

German authorities have dropped a case in which a 10-year-old Afghan boy raped a classmate during a school trip while Syrian and Afghan accomplices held him down, as the perpetrators are apparently not old enough to be tried.

The incident began when 38 students from a Berlin school went on a field trip to Schloss Kröchlendorff, a castle in Nordwestuckermark, Germany. The students were supposed to have a fun day out enjoying nature – but that wasn't possible for everyone

The day turned horrific for a 10-year-old boy, who was told by the perpetrators: "We f**k you today!" A total of three boys ganged up on the victim; an Afghan and a Syrian, both aged 11, held him down while a 10-year-old Afghan boy sexually abused and raped him, according to the Berliner Zeitung.

Two other classmates saw the incident unfold, but did not notify any teachers. It was not until a week-and-a-half later that a friend of the victim told a social worker at school what had occurred.

After the rape became known, the school informed parents and police. The perpetrators were suspended from school.

But now authorities have dropped the case, stating that the boys are simply too young to be tried in the justice system since they are not at least 14 years of age.

The best that can apparently be done is to stop the main perpetrator from attending a normal school with other students. "We want to exhaust all legal possibilities that the main perpetrator does not attend regular school, but experiences special schooling," a spokeswoman for the Berlin School Administration said on Monday, as quoted by the Berliner Zeitung. The two boys that held the victim down are now attending schools in other districts.

The disturbing case comes as anti-immigrant sentiments continue to boil in Germany. Such feelings have been on the rise since the 2015 refugee crisis which saw the country take in over one million asylum seekers.

It also comes amid violent clashes between anti-immigrant protesters and counter-protesters, after a 35-year-old German was fatally stabbed by suspects identified as Afghan and Syrian nationals in the city of Chemnitz.

A far-right German MP has been seriously injured in a 'politically motivated' gang attack in the north of the country

Frank Magnitz, leader in Bremen of the anti-immigration populist party Alternative for Germany (AfD), was assaulted in the city centre on Monday afternoon.

The AfD party published a photo of Magnitz lying injured on a hospital bed, claiming three masked men had carried out the attack.

Politicians across the political spectrum, including Chancellor Angela Merkel, have slammed the 'cowardly' attack.

'They hit him with a piece of wood until he was unconscious and then kicked him on the ground,' the party said in a statement, adding that a construction worker had intervened to stop the assault.

Bremen Police said that 'given the victim's work, we believe that this is a politically motivated act.'

Chancellor Angela Merkel led cross-party condemnations of the assault, as her spokesman Steffen Seibert wrote on Twitter that the 'brutal attack' was 'to be condemned sharply'.

'Hopefully the police will succeed in catching the perpetrators quickly,' he wrote.

AfD leader Joerg Meuthen tweeted that Magnitz was 'beaten almost to death' in a 'cowardly and sickening' attack.

Johannes Kahrs, an MP from the Social Democrats, junior partners in the ruling coalition, said 'violence is never acceptable' and that 'extremism in any form is rubbish'. He wished Magnitz a quick recovery.
