A group of teenagers as young as 12 are suspected of breaking into the Myer Centre in Rundle Mall overnight, stealing clothes and cash.

Security officers found a side door of the shopping mall had been jemmied open just before 2.30am on Monday.

Police found cashier tills at several food outlets and other stores had been accessed, with cashier tills and clothes stolen

CCTV footage revealed four suspects on scooters and a bicycle entered the centre, before they fled wearing stolen clothes from one of the stores.

The suspects were described as being of Aboriginal appearance aged between 12 – 15 years. They were last seen wearing bright coloured yellow, orange and red Champion hooded jumpers and baseball caps.

LEAKED footage from inside the Don Dale youth detention centre reveals the moment that sparked last year's riot which resulted in the destruction of parts of the facility.

The footage, leaked to the ABC, shows a detainee snatching a guard's keys which were then used to open cell doors and release other inmates on November 6.

The video also shows heavily armed riot police aiming their weapons at unarmed youths during their efforts to quell the disturbance.

Detainees are also seen arming themselves with star pickets and using angle grinders to cut their way through fences in the detention centre before being tear gassed by police.

Chief Minister Michael Gunner said while he hadn't seen the footage the police had his support.

"I think it's important never to be a Monday night coach," he said.

"There are oversight measures in place, from the Children's Commissioner to the Ombudsman

The boongs pinched keys from a guard, tried escaping, vandalised stuff and caused over $100k worth of damage and people are saying that it was disturbing to see Armed police point guns at children and roll their armoured vehicle through there! Who was at fault?! Boong crooks!

POLICE have arrested a  teenage boy Juvenile delinquent Abo crim( Being Darwin and all)who allegedly broke a security guard's arm and injured another in an incident at Casuarina Square on Tuesday.

The two security guards allegedly spotted the teen involved in a "domestic disturbance" with a girl at about 10am.

Police say the boy "became verbally threatening and abusive" and refused to leave the area when asked to do so before allegedly assaulting both guards when they tried to remove him from the premises.

The youth then allegedly ran away, smashing the window of a parked car as he left and was arrested later that afternoon
One of the security guards suffered a broken arm and the other required stitches to his mouth

POLICE have arrested a woman   She boon coon
after an alleged break-in at a service station in Darwin's northern suburbs overnight.

Duty Superintendent Bruce Payne said the woman forced her way into the servo by kicking in a glass panel in the door at about 1.40am on Wednesday and started throwing goods from the store at the attendant.

The 22-year-old then allegedly forced her way behind the service counter and stole a number of items before fleeing the area.

Supt Payne said she was picked up by police a short time later and remains in custody.

A driver who crashed into an Aboriginal woman's car has left a racist note saying they're not sorry because the owner displayed an indigenous sticker.

Extract: The woman's granddaughter found the disgusting letter on her car, which was parked at Chermside shopping centre in Brisbane this week.

A photo of the handwritten note was posted to Twitter on Thursday afternoon, along with details of where it was found and the accompanying caption: 'No. Words

In the note, the driver admitted to crashing into the young woman's vehicle but launched a racist tirade against her for displaying an Aboriginal sticker.

'I'm writting (sic) this note because I hit your car!' the driver wrote. 

'You have an Aboriginal sticker on your car so the government probs paid for it out of my taxes.

'Happy Australia Day. I'm not sorry as well,' the message stated
