Trump said it was "in the security interests of the US" to prevent such events and that there could "be no disputing that Syria used chemical weapons."

He called on other nations to join him in what is expected to be a coalition to stop the bitter conflict in Syria. "Previous attempts to change Assad's behaviour have failed and failed dramatically," he said. "The region continues to destablise, threatening the US and its allies.

"Tonight, I call on the UN to join us in ending the slaughter and bloodshed in Syria and also to end terrorism of all kinds and all types."

US officials said the missiles were fired from two warships in the Mediterranean Sea, targeting the air base under the control of President Bashar al-Assad's government. The missiles were reportedly programmed to target runways, aircraft and fuel points at the small airfield.

If more Syrians are to be targeted, this will mean we get more Arab refugees here! Don't think UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore,Hong Kong or Japan will receive them.

The main thing is chemical weapons have been outlawed by the UN. The US won't allow either chemical weapons or nuclear arms near Israel or any NATO Allies.
