Extract: A TRAINEE heart surgeon has been busted filming men showering in the public bathrooms at Brisbane's popular South Bank parklands.

Duy Tran Le, 26, a German national, was fined $800 after pleading guilty in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday to seven counts of recording in breach of privacy.

The court heard Le had been in Australia for a month to celebrate his recent graduation from medical school when he filmed the naked men on Friday. Le filmed seven men in the space of three hours by holding his iPhone over the wall of the neighbouring cubicle.

None of the men realised they were being filmed but his behaviour drew the attention of South Bank security, who contacted police.

Acting Magistrate Jason Schubert described his actions as "disgusting". "The offences are disgusting offences, involving a serious breach of the privacy of other adult males," he said.

"I can only assume the offending was for sexual gratification purposes." Le's lawyer Kate MacArthur said her client had been accepted into a cardiology unit in Germany and would fly home on January 12.

Mr Schubert fined Le $800 and did not record a conviction.

Extract: A MAN was hit with a metal pole by a gang of robbers targeting car keys outside a suburban Melbourne gym early this morning.

Police are hunting four men, described as of African appearance, following the attack in Glenroy.

Leading Senior Constable Lee Thomson said the victim was approached by the men on Pascoe Vale Rd just before 5.30am.

"Police have been told the males then used a metal pole to strike the man on the head, causing him to drop his backpack," Sen-Constable Thomson said.

"The males then allegedly took items from the backpack, including car keys, and approached the victims' car.

"Once going through the vehicle, the males began to leave."

Police are probing the scene.

A Melbourne Muslim leader and another man have been charged over the alleged forced marriage of a child last year.

Imam Ibrahim Omerdic, 61, is charged with conduct that caused a minor to enter into a forced marriage at Noble Park on September 29.

Springvale man Mohammad Shakir, 34, is charged with sexual penetration of a child under the age of 16 and being a party to a forced marriage.

Both men appeared at the Melbourne Magistrates court today.

The court was told a DVD of the ceremony being conducted at a mosque may form part of the evidence during the trials.

The case was adjourned until February 3.

Mr Omerdic's bail was continued while Mr Shakir remains in custody.

AFRICAN GANG violence is continuing to plague Melbourne, with a jewellery store heist the latest attack in a suspected Apex crime wave.A group of men broke into IMP Jewellery store in Toorak Road store just before 1pm on Saturday, where they struck a staff member on the head with a gun.

It was the second time in three months the store has been targeted by an armed gang.

The men, described as being of African appearance, fled into a nearby car, where a getaway driver was waiting.

Police gave chase but abandoned the pursuit a short time later.]The staff member was struck on the head with the butt of a firearm and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Store owner Tony Fialides told the Herald Sun he was stunned by the fresh heist. "I'm incredibly disappointed," he said. "I've had people from interstate and overseas saying: 'What's going on in Victoria?'"

Italian tourist Stefano Pavan said he thought that the man was yelling, "Allah Akbar" while he was doing burnouts on the corner of Flinders and Swanston street, Mr Pavan said the man looked middle eastern and there was loud Arabic music blaring from his car.

"People were screaming because he was just going crazy," he said. "But it was like he was waiting for the police.

Mr Pavan said the man was screaming and shouting and doing the burnouts close to where the horse drawn carriages are on Swanston Street.

Police say the incident is not connected to terrorism and no one else is being sought.

Witness reports say the baby was seen to go under the wheels of the car.

Following the stabbing, it is alleged the same man took a woman, who is known to him, hostage in his car.

Police are begging for information but refuse to release any names or descriptions. Victorian police are well known for obfuscating events in order to quell what they claim would be a racist backlash.

Extract: VICTORIA'S Police Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton has confirmed the driver of the vehicle that "intentionally" ploughed into pedestrians in Melbourne's CBD is a 26-year-old man known to police.

The man police believe is responsible for today's atrocity is 26-year-old Dimitrious Gargasoulas.

Mr Ashton confirmed the 26-year-old man had been "coming to our attention more recently over recent days in relation to assaults, family violence-related assaults".

"What we do know of the person is there is an extensive family violence history involved. He has come to our attention on many occasions in the past.
