A MAN had to get 32 stitches in his ear after being attacked by a teenager wielding a machete in Adelaide's northwest.

Bryan Hannam, 41, was walking through the Ethelton Railway Station carpark after visiting a friend when he was approached by two teenagers about 6pm on Tuesday.

He said one of the teens — who is known to him — stopped him and asked for a cigarette.

"I stopped and pulled a cigarette out of my packet," he said.

"Then the other bloke chopped me with a machete and that was it.

"He sliced my ear open and then he said to me, 'you're lucky I didn't use the sharp end'.

"It was straight out like that — the cigarette was the thing to stop me."

Mr Hannam, of Glanville, walked home but no one was there to help him so he went to The Glanville Hotel, which is near his house.

He said staff at the pub — who know him well — were shocked to see him covered in blood and the large slash to his ear.

They called police and paramedics straight away.

The furniture removalist was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he received 32 stitches to his ear to fix the horrific wound.

"I'm scarred for life — I do more damage to myself usually," he said.

He said the teenagers that attacked him were known thugs in the greater Port Adelaide area.

Yes, could be Abos ... but it's just as likely to be an Africoon these days. The population there is about even for both groups.

Once the Africoon gangs form - and they will - the two groups will be battling it out on the streets and in the malls. That'll screw up the yuppyfiing of Port Adelaide that's been going on for the last decade, and devalue the multi-million dollar housing that's going up along the river and lakes. Either the Port will sink further than it was at its worst in the 70's, or big business will combine with rate payers to move out the troublesome youth. i.e. The black plague in our midst.

While I would like for the Port area to be cleaned up, I expect it to go like Elizabeth in the Northern Suburbs. Elizabeth had the same reputation as the Port back in the 70's. The Port was an area where you would get off the train and be chased for miles by Abos and old WWI veterans were murdered on the streets for the last 50c of their pension cheques. Just like today, the coppers didn't bother about Abo crime ... but back then it had nothing to do with coppers being accused of racism and threats to their jobs; it was because there were so many Abos in the area, they lived separate from Whites whilst living amongst us and preying on our people. It was only the beginnings of the forced integration; if they weren't caught in the act of a criminal offence, they were not caught at all. Closing down industry in the Port area meant poor Whites moved out and slums were knocked down. Abos were moved to other areas and the yuppyfiing began.

At the same time, Elizabeth had a similar reputation that was generally working class White. The problem there in the early 70's were the gangs of Skinheads fresh out from England that would rob your granny. It was the outlaw bikers of the time that got together and with the unofficial approval of the coppers bashed every shaven head they found. The Skinhead gangs ceased to exist and the area settled down. The 80's and 90's saw the same collapse of local industry in Elizabeth that occurred in Port Adelaide. There was a massive sell-off of land, and although they didn't have a river and lakes to attract yuppies, they did attempt to build fancier housing estates with unique names to hide their Elizabethan origin. And then they started shipping in Abos to fill the vacated White rentals. The Abos were followed by boat-people and imported refos from Africa. A place that was once almost 100% White with a reputation for working class roughness is now worse than ever. That's what I expect for the Port area.

For the smart-arses out there that want to deny everything I've said as racist rumour, how do I know all of this? I lived in both the Port and Elizabeth areas in the 70's. Adelaide is small, so all you need is to know an area to recognise its changes. Unless we win this war, Elizabeth is the future of all Adelaide. The only other place I've lived with a comparable history to Elizabeth was Woodridge/Logan City in Queensland. Now that place is truly a multi-racial sh*thole of a ghetto that makes Elizabeth look like an oasis by comparison.

A TAXI driver was threatened with a gun and two stolen cars were used in the ram raid of a northern suburbs bottleshop during a violent crime spree.

Police are calling for witnesses to come forward after the BWS bottleshop on McMillans Rd was rammed at 3am yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Jordan said investigations were underway on the attempted robbery and theft of two cars.

"A taxi driver was flagged down on McMillans Rd shortly after 3am. When he refused to give two men a lift, one of the men brandished a firearm and asked for money. The driver refused and quickly left the scene," he said. "Police later responded to a ram raid at a Jingili bottle shop involving two stolen cars, a white Hyundai hatch and a Silver RAV4."

Police are investigating whether the incidents are linked.

It has all the hallmarks of the boong's! Who else would pinch cars desperate to ram raise a booze shop? That is what the basics card is making the boong's do!

A STUART PARK resident whose partner was spat on by itinerantsferral, Abos has questioned why mobile police CCTV cameras were not permanently installed at the troubled Westralia St shops.

David Mageean said his partner came home crying after she became the victim of the disgusting act last month.

Mr Mageean, a Stuart Park resident of seven years, said the attack was an example of the anti-social behaviour which was keeping people away from the shops and park.

Mr Mageean said his partner was too upset and feared retribution if she spoke to the NT News.

"Normally in the mornings there will be groups congregating in the corner. There was a group there and she was spat upon when she walked past and she came home in tears," he said.

"It's despicable that people can't walk down to the shops to get a newspaper and milk without being intimidated. There's a feeling there that it is not safe."

He said his partner would be forced to change her route and felt uncomfortable about being confronted by the itinerants again. It's offensive to anyone let alone a female on her own. She won't be able to walk that way on her own again."

Territory police Communications Division Superintendent Stephen Heyworth said mobile CCTV cameras were deployed to areas known for anti-social behaviour — but only three units were available Territory-wide.

He said another two mobile units were expected to be available next year.

"Our experience has shown the use of mobile CCTV helps ... providing frontline officers with up to date information on what is occurring and helps in identifying offenders.

"However, to be fully effective we need assistance from the public in reporting instances of anti-social behaviour."

A FANNIE Bay shopkeeper was assaulted on Tuesday night after asking an intoxicated 22-year-old male Native bush gorillato leave his store.

The man entered the Fannie Bay IGA — a business he was banned from by the shopkeeper— at about 6pm. After being told to leave, the 22-year-old grabbed some cashew nuts from a shelf and shoved them down the front of his pants.

Police said the 67-year-old male shopkeeper successfully retrieved the nuts before a woman accused the unruly customer of stealing her mobile phone.

While intervening in the argument, the shopkeeper was allegedly punched in the face with a closed fist by the male, who then threatened to fight further before fleeing the shop and riding off on his bike.

Police arrived within minutes and got the description of Coon, who was wearing an Essendon jersey with the number 23 on the back. A suspect fitting the description was later arrested, but no charges have yet been laid

POLICE have arrested a man Abo bastard who allegedly threw petrol at a woman at Charles Darwin University this morning.

A man was apprehended by police at Dripstone Cliffs about 10am.

A CDU staff member approached the man who according to police was allegedly sniffing petrol near the residential dorms on campus at 8.30am.

Serious Crime Detective Karl Day said as the woman turned and walked away she felt a liquid hit her on the back.

"He didn't talk and seemed a bit odd. The female then walked away. She felt a liquid hit her on the back," he said.

"She then went inside her room and shut her door and noticed a flame on the outside of the door. It appears that he has thrown petrol on her at this stage."

Det Day said the woman was unharmed.

A 15-year-old girl was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital after suffering a reaction to the petrol fumes.

Police believe the man in question is not a CDU student.
