A CRAZED woman ran naked and screaming in public in a desperate bid to get her drunk husband's attention just hours before he allegedly murdered her, witnesses have told a ­committal hearing. 
 
Conway Stevenson remains in custody over the death of his wife at Bagot community, in Ludmilla, last November. Witness Nelly Jones said she was sitting in a stationary minibus taxi outside some houses when Stevenson, looking for his wife, told one of the other women on board: "I'm going to murder her."

Ms Jones said she believed Stevenson's threat was "silly talk".

"I thought he wasn't going to do that, he was always a good boy," she said.

The court heard on the evening of November 26 – hours before she was killed – the victim stripped naked.

She was yelling "I want you Bagot mob to see me (like this)" and "where's f***ing Conway".

Witness Sabina Holmes said she believed the victim behaved in the "shameful" way to make Stevenson notice her.

Two women tried to calm her down, offering to help her get some clothes on and go to family at Minmarama community. She ignored them.

Ms Holmes said Stevenson told the victim, "I don't want you any more", but she ­followed him.

Witness Chris Herbert said he was drinking beer with other people on a footpath when Stevenson – "hungover" and upset – walked over.

Mr Herbert said the accused told him in Warlpiri: "I think she's dead".

"He told me to hit him," he said. He punched Stevenson, whom people had started to yell at.

The hearing continues.

A 37-YEAR-old woman stabbed a 40-year-old woman in the leg and back at Hidden Valley camp in Alice Springs this morning. 
 
Southern Watch Commander, Acting Senior Sergeant Drew Slape said they received reports of the stabbing just after 6am.

"Upon arrival, a 40-year-old female was located by police with stab wounds to the leg and back," Sen Sergeant Slape said.

A TERRITORY artist speared his brother in the face and threatened to put a curse on his house after a dispute over a card game on a remote island. 
 
Alfred Lalara, 50, admitted charges of going armed in public and aggravated assault, in a Darwin court.

Prosecutor Rachel Martin said Lalara, his blood brother and their partners were playing cards with a group of people at Angurugu, on Groote Eylandt, when the brother's wife won the $1000 pot.



Lalara, annoyed because he had no luck, tore up the cards, threw a rock at the nearby house and went home.

He played more cards with his wife and others before he phoned his brother and told him he would curse his house.

The next day the family feud escalated with Lalara grabbing two shovel-nosed spears. The victim, who had armed himself with a fishing spear gun, dodged the first spear. Lalara then threw the second spear. It went through his brother's nose.

Lalara was convicted and sentenced to six months in prison, backdated to his remand on July 17.

Just what a mongrel people these blacks are! hot headed and child like and impulsive, did that to his own brother!

THE final escapee from Darwin's youth detention centre has been caught in a northern suburb. 
 
Josiah Binsaris, 15, was spotted by police in Nakara about 11am Wednesday and was taken into custody immediately.

He was one of five youths which escaped from Don Dale Detention Centre on Saturday night.

The others have been gradually taken into custody since.

They allegedly threatened security staff with gym equipment.

A Corrections investigation to the escape has been launched.

Doesn't say it on this version but in the hard copy I read both kids were Abbos and the NT politicians want to put a lot more funding into the centre because the kind of kids in there are well more violent and hostile than there ever has been before. As for the Abbo savages..that is what you expect from them!

A YOUNG woman was assaulted with a palm frond when she confronted an alleged thief rummaging through the glovebox of her car at 7.30pm Sunday night. 
 
The victim, 18, returned to her car with her father and younger brother after a barbecue at the Nightcliff foreshore, near Aralia St, when they allegedly busted a 21-year-old woman in the driver's seat.

NT Police superintendent Bob Harrison said the woman became violent when the father, 63, confronted her.

"She has picked up a palm frond and hit the (female) owner of the car in the shoulder, then kicked the car," he said. "She left a dent." Police were called, and Supt Harrison said items from the glovebox fell out of the alleged thief's top. She was charged with stealing from a motor vehicle, assault and obscene language.

You can bet it was an Abbo or some mud breed doing some kinda thing with hallmarks like this in Darwin.

A DRUNK man (VERY DRUNK BOONG!) smashed his partner in the head with a milk crate because she was taking too long to cook his dinner, a court has been told. 
 
Marshall Pamkal admitted the aggravated assault on his partner of seven years, Margaret Smith, along with breaking domestic violence and alcohol protection orders when he faced Darwin Magistrates Court.

He blew 0.296 at the time he was arrested.

But the case was adjourned for hearing after Pamkal disputed the allegation that he hit the victim first.

Defence lawyer Koulla Roussos said her client was provoked when the victim hit him in the head with the milk crate, and he retaliated.

But prosecutor Jill Goddard challenged the submission.



Ms Goddard told the court that Pamkal and his partner got drunk together at Palmerston on August 5.

The victim put on dinner to cook and sat down to watch TV about 9.30pm.

Pamkal got angry and said, "When's the food going to be bloody cooked?"

"The victim told him the stove wasn't working," Ms Goddard said. "He picked up the milk crate and hit the top of her head.

"She saw blood falling on her skirt and became angry – she grabbed the crate off the defendant. She swung it at him and hit him in the head."

The couple was standing at the front gate of their home when police arrived. The victim required nine staples to heal the 5cm gash on her head.

Ms Roussos said her client didn't raise a self-defence issue but the issue of who struck the first blow could influence mitigation of the crime.

The case was adjourned until next month.
