@Fortem Regarding the MINIMALISM documentary in the post above: I'm one of those that doesn't know any other way to live. By necessity, my life is separated into Needs and Wants. And I don't want for much.

Car: I work on my car to get it as best it can be because dumping a car every five years at the wreckers and buying another cheap car isn't worth it. In the short term, it costs more to repair and improve what you have, but in the long term, you save. And then when you are too old to drive, it's like money in the bank.

Motorcycle: Rebuilding that wont cost much. Cheaper on fuel. It also gives us the opportunity to spread Creativity. And when I'm too old to ride, it too is money in the bank. If looked at in the right way, cars and bikes can be an investment for your old age.

Clothes: I have two suits that probably no longer fit. Creators once believed that every man should own a suit; I no longer care. I have a kilt too - left over from my time in the army. The rest is what I need to wear every day: Boots, jeans, t-shirts, jackets. Nothing trendy or fancy. Styles change, I do not.

Food: I do not eat out at pubs or restaurants. I do not eat takeaway unless it is something healthy and within my budget. I eat plain healthy foods. I do not waste money on something that is only going down the crapper.

Home and Garden: Small, comfortable, clean and healthy. I don't need a massive TV and games consoles. Entertainment should be enough to distract from the trauma of day to day life. Nothing else is needed.

That's how I live. Quite minimalistic. Everything is divided into Needs and Wants. And just because I want something, it does not mean I need it - or have the room for it. If there is no room at my home for something I want, then it is of no use to me. After all, I don't need it.

I live far enough away from major roads, and all roads in a green area near a lake. It's a fact that less pollution means less chance of dementia. And the more greenery, the more nature has a chance to cleanse your environment of pollutants. Hence I put a lot of my money and effort into my garden. Taking the time to just sitting outside on the lawn under a shade amongst the plants is much healthier than sitting amongst the clutter of the trendy Pokémon world. That world is a recipe for early dementia and death.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with me. I live in the city in an dwelling building.
I dont think I need more space. I use a bus as a means of transport. A car is a big expense here and renting a garage is expensive.
Money is better spent on knowledge, creativity, travel and health. We are not consumers, and that is a prerequisite for being happy and healthy in mind.
We must always keep in mind who we are giving money to and why. If it is possible to buy from racially conscious people we should do so.
