The trail up Mt Warning, now known as Wollumbin, was closed four years ago amid the Covid pandemic, but has since remained shut due to its cultural significance to Indigenous Australians.

In 2022, the NSW Department of National Parks recommended fully handing over management of the site on the Tweed Coast to the small Wollumbin Consultative Group who support a ban on WHITE visitors to the popular hiking spot.

The group, made of Indigenous families and community organisations, caused an uproar when they claimed allowing females - including those of Indigenous heritage - on the site would ruin its cultural significance.

They put the Abos in remote areas because you couldn't just round them up and expect them to be put in some Posh neighbourhood and integrate. That's like expecting to go to the bush, grab Dingos and expect them to be as good as Labradors for the guide dog school!


The upkeep of the welfare there is the economy of the remote area. They want at least some people living in remote zones in the north so other countries don't think about invading or colonising those spots.

Disturbing video shows a 16-year-old Aboriginal girl being brutally beaten by 10 women in what has been described as a case of 'cultural payback'.

Indigenous senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price has slammed the 'romanticism' of traditional Aboriginal culture after footage emerged of the attack which occurred in Alice Springs about 3am on Saturday.

The young girl was savagely punched and stomped on by her assailants moments after they were involved in a separate brawl. 

She was taken to hospital and treated for serious chest injuries.

Senator Nampijinpa Price told Daily Mail Australia she had since been informed 'this was a case of traditional cultural payback'.

'These women, I could hear in the video, are Warlpiri women. I am a Warlpiri woman. I am utterly disturbed to see this kind of behaviour,' she said in the Senate.

'I want this chamber, and the Australian public to know that traditional cultural payback, otherwise known as vigilantism, has no place in our society in 2024.'

Senator Nampijinpa Price referenced the recent spate of crimes in the Northern Territory, and said as a society, we are 'ignoring the fact that traditional culture plays into this, because we're all too scared.

'This romanticism needs to stop,' she said.
