The Ministers for Māori Crown Relations and Regional Economic Development say the $500,000 renovation at Puketawa Marae near Ōkaihau in the Hokianga marks a significant milestone in support for provincial communities.

"Across the whole country, 358 marae are being renovated with government investment handout of taxpayer funds. Marae are the focal point for local Māori – for whānau, hapū and iwi – and reflect and represent Māori identity, language, matauranga and whānau wellbeing. There are 33 marae renovations in Northland, and 19 have now been completed.

I was in NZ 6 years ago and noticed Petrol was costly. Is it because there are no fuel processing plants there and it needs to be shipped there?
Things were expensive and the killer is your rate of pay is lower than Australia. Very hard to save money!
It's still a great country, but perhaps it's better to retire in?
There are a lot  of Kiwis Comming to Aus to work and save up to buy a place in NZ.

That indoor snow place in Auckland, I was there and some people told me it was a struggle to afford to be in NZ.
