I found this blog post quite informative from a psychological perspective.

http://evoandproud.blogspot.co.uk/2011/01/religiosity-and-origins-of-civilization.html

Quote from: AnthropologistsAtkinson and Whitehouse argue that human societies seem to cluster into two modes of religiosity:

1. An "imagistic" mode associated with hunter-gatherers. Religiosity is focused on non-routine events that evoke an intense state of mental arousal (initiation, ordeals, bodily mutilation, etc).

2. A "doctrinal" mode associated with agricultural societies. Religiosity is more routine and is focused on frequently repeated teachings and rituals that generally evoke a less intense state of mental arousal.

Among hunter-gatherers, religiosity is meant to be traumatic. The aim is to create a vivid experience with long-lasting effects, such as an emotional bond that will keep men loyal to each other for hunting or war.

In agricultural societies, religiosity supports tasks that occur more often and more regularly

Professor Richard Dawkins calls Roman Catholicism worse than child abuse

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2251963/Being-raised-Catholic-worse-child-abuse-Latest-incendiary-claim-atheist-professor-Richard-Dawkins.html

Excerpt: In typically incendiary style, Professor Dawkins said the mental torment inflicted by the religion's teachings is worse in the long-term than any sexual abuse carried out by priests.

He said he had been told by a woman that while being abused by a priest was a 'yucky' experience, being told as a child that a Protestant friend who died would 'roast in Hell' was more distressing.

Last night politicians and charities condemned the former Oxford professor's views as attention-seeking and unhelpful.

Professor Dawkins said: 'There are shades of being abused by a priest, and I quoted an example of a woman in America who wrote to me saying that when she was seven years old she was sexually abused by a priest in his car.

'At the same time a friend of hers, also seven, who was of a Protestant family, died, and she was told that because her friend was Protestant she had gone to Hell and will be roasting in Hell forever.

'She told me of those two abuses,  she got over the physical abuse; it was yucky but she got over it.

'But the mental abuse of being told about Hell, she took years to get over.'

Professor Dawkins, a biologist who revolutionised the theory of evolution with his 1976 book The Selfish Gene, added: 'It seems to me that telling children that they really, really believe that people who sin are going to go to Hell and roast forever – that your skin grows again when it peels off with burning – it seems to me to be intuitively entirely reasonable that that is a worse form of child abuse, that will give more nightmares, that will give more genuine distress because they really believe.'

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2253640/Dawkins-fundamentalist-Peter-Higgs-launches-outspoken-attack-biologist-embarrassing-criticism-religion.html

Excerpt: Theoretical physicist Professor Peter Higgs, left, has called biologist Richard Dawkins, right, a 'fundamentalist' and branded his attacks on religion 'embarrassing'.

Professor Higgs has used his new status to pour scorn on 71-year-old Professor Dawkins, a champion of evolution and author of The God Delusion which argues that belief in God is irrational.

Professor Dawkins's contempt for religion has recently led him to suggest that being raised as a Roman Catholic is worse for a child than physical abuse.

On July 4, 2012, CERN announced the ATLAS and CMS experiments had seen strong indications for the presence of a new particle, which could be the Higgs boson.

Professor Higgs is an atheist and has said he doesn't like that the particle is nicknamed the 'God particle', as he believes the term 'might offend people who are religious'.

The time is coming when whites have to stick together and f@ck the system. Like  I would give sanctuary to any white Creator on the run. People are going to have to learn the hard way that the state is their deadly enemy. All Western governments are waging genocide against their white populations. I'd even say that anyone waging war against the western governments, economically like Russia or China. Ideologically like Iran or North Korea. Even culturally like the muslims hating Jews and homos...they are all doing us (The White Race) a big favour.

I quite like  Adriana Stuijt and her blog. She used to work for the South african Times i think and is a highly competent journalist. she catalogues the genocide of White south Africans very well along with pollution problems etc. I had a dialogue with her at one time but as a Christian she typically likes to complain without having any idea of a solution.
