A video released by an unknown group shows two young women in Islamic garb with only their faces showing, saying they are the two Italian women kidnapped while traveling in Syria and "could be killed" by their captors.

The video shows Greta Ramelli, 20, and Vanessa Marzullo, 21, Vanessa's father told CNN. "I have no doubt it's them," Salvatore Marzullo said of the video, which was posted on YouTube Thursday, some say by the Al Qaeda affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra. "We supplicate our government and its mediators to bring us back home before Christmas," one of the girls in the video says. "We are in big danger and we could be killed. The government and its mediators are responsible for our lives."

A piece of paper held up during the video reads "17-12-14 WEDNESDAY." Italian authorities consider the video to be authentic, according to Italy's official news agency, ANSA.

Italian intelligence officials told ANSA that "we are in a delicate phase that requires the utmost discretion." The two went missing in late July and were believed to have been kidnapped and sold between rebel Islamist factions fighting in Syria.

Muslim immigrants rioted and torched about 1,000 cars in France for New Year's Eve. However, you wouldn't know that by the "mainstream" media. France has seen annual race riots on New Year's Eve in the immigrant ghettos around Paris. The media however, is completely censoring the perpetrators. In the "mainstream" media we are simply told that "French people" rioted and torched a thousand cars.

The largest number of cars were torched in Seine-Saint-Denis, a densely populated suburban area outside of the city of Paris. About 40% of people under 18 are from Africa, and the area is over a third Muslim.

[Two women]

A BIG quantity of power gel explosives has been discovered during a car search at a booze bus, forcing police to call in the TRG bomb squad. 
 
Just before 4am on Thursday, police found what they suspected were explosives in a woman's car after she was stopped for a random breath test on Beaufort Street in Mount Lawley. WA Police said the vehicle was searched and officers found about 11kg of power gel explosives.

The area was cordoned off and the TRG bomb squad was called in to process the scene. Another vehicle parked nearby was also searched and drugs were located and seized. Two women and two men are in police custody and assisting police with their inquiries. No charges have been laid as yet. Police believe it is an isolated incident and will release more information as the investigation advances.

STOCKHOLM // Sweden was hit by a third arson attack on a mosque in a week on Thursday.  Police were hunting for at least one suspect after he was seen throwing a burning object at the mosque in Uppsala, in eastern Sweden.

"Someone threw a firebomb, a Molotov cocktail at the building," Torsten Hemlin a spokesman for Uppsala policesaid, adding that the bomb did not set the mosque in eastern Sweden alight. "They also wrote some vulgar racist words," he said. No one was in the building at the time of the attack. Police in Uppsala, Sweden's fourth largest city, were alerted by passers-by who reportedly saw a man throw a burning object at the mosque at 3.30am local time.

"The crime has been classed as attempted arson, vandalism and incitement to hatred," the police said, appealing for eyewitnesses to come forward. Thursday's attack came just three days after a late night blaze at a mosque in Esloev in southern Sweden which police suspect was also arson. On Christmas Day, five people were injured when a petrol bomb was thrown through the window of a mosque in Eskilstuna, east of the capital Stockholm. The country's leftist prime minister Stefan Loefven called the Christmas attack a spurt of "hateful violence" and said Sweden would "never tolerate this kind of crime".

According to the anti-racism magazine Expo, there have been more than a dozen attacks on mosques in Sweden in the last year. The attacks come as debate intensifies in the country over immigration and the integration of asylum seekers in the traditionally tolerant Nordic country. Last month the far right Sweden Democrats – which doubled its support to 13 per cent in September elections – came close to bringing down the left-green government over its liberal refugee policies, further boosting its support in opinion polls.

A court in Argentina has handed down life sentence to four former military officers for committing crimes against humanity during the 1970s' US-backed military dictatorship in the South American country.

On Thursday, the court in the capital, Buenos Aires, found the four guilty of "illegal deprivation of liberty, torture, rape and homicide," involving 204 people out of the total 2,500 held at the Vesubio detention center between 1976 and 1978.

The four defendants are former colonels Federico Minicucci and Jorge Crespi, former intelligence officer, Gustavo Cacivio, and former colonel and prison official, Nestor Cendon.

Around 200 migrants stormed the six metre high border fences between Morocco and the Spanish enclave Melilla on Tuesday. 102 managed to climb across, Spain's interior ministry said, according to Associated Press. In total around 2,000 migrants managed to scale the fences in 2014.

UPDATED: Police suspect a mosque in southern Sweden was deliberately torched on Monday, with a local imam blaming rising Islamophobia in the region.

Emergency services were called to the mosque in Eslöv, a small city in the south of the country, at around 3.15am on Monday. It is understood that the blaze began after flammable liquid caught fire in one of the rooms in the building.

Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and were able to prevent the fire spreading, although the flames still caused minor damage to the building. Firefighters suspect foul play. "There is no possible natural explanation for this type of fire to break out by itself", fire department spokesman Gustaf Sandell told Sveriges Radio.

Samir Muric, the local imam, said he was worried for his own safety"Unfortunately, this is probably something to do with Islamophobia. I live close by and it's beginning to feel unsafe," he told the TT news agency.

In Sweden only around 3-4% of all rapes are committed by natives who make up 85% of the entire population. The rest are by immigrants – Muslim immigrants. In Oslo, Norway, by 100%; in Sweden immigrants are responsible for over 90% of rapes while Muslims account for over 87% of all reported rapes in the entire country. In other parts of Europe Muslims dominate rape statistics as well in similar percentages.

Rape is a particularly complex crime to analyse, partly because many sexual assaults are never reported. Women in some countries are much less likely to press charges than in others and are much less likely to have their complaint recorded.
Surveys suggest that as few as one in 10 cases are ever reported to the police in many countries, according to UN statistician Enrico Bisogno IBTimes UK, basing its research on official statistics and reports, looks into some of the countries with the highest rate of rapes.

1. Lesotho, Africa

Lesotho  Sexual violence against women and girls is widespread. The country had a rate of of 88.6 rape cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 2011, according to a UN report. "Unequal gender relations and belief in the sexual entitlement of men are entrenched in cultural and social norms, and the country has a very high incidence of rape. In the majority of cases, victims of sexual violence are silenced," according to a research by NGO Kick For Life

In neighbouring South Africa, "the prevalence of rape and particularly multiple perpetrator rape is unusually high," African organisation Institute for Security Studies (ISS) said. "The proportion of adult men who have raped is between 28-37%, and 7-9% have engaged in multiple perpetrator rape," ISS continued. As the majority of sexual assaults remain unreported in South Africa – because of fear of repercussions – rape statistics show a lower rate of molestations as many women choose not to press charges.

2. Sweden, Scandinavia

Sweden has the highest rate of rape in Europe, with the UN reporting 69 rape cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 2011, according to author and advocate of power feminism Naomi Wolf on opinion website Project Syndicate. In 2010, Swedish police recorded the highest number of offences – about 63 per 100,000 inhabitants – of any force in Europe. That was the second  highest in the world after Lesotho. "According to rape crisis advocates in Sweden, one-third of Swedish women have been sexually assaulted by the time they leave their teens. According to a study published in 2003, and other later studies through 2009, Sweden has the highest sexual assault rate in Europe, and among the lowest conviction rates," Wolf wrote.

A 2010 Amnesty report said: "In Sweden, according to official crime statistics, the number of reported rapes has quadrupled during the past 20 years. In 2008, there were just over 4,000 rapes of people over 15, the great majority of them girls and women."

3. St Vincent and the Granadines, Caribbean.

St Vincent and the Granadines. All Caribbean countries (where comparable data is available) show a higher than average rate of rape. Forty-eight percent of adolescent girls reported sexual initiation to be forced in nine Caribbean countries, according to UN Women. A 2007 UN report pinpointed St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) as having  the third highest number of reported rapes in the world. In 2011, the rate of rapes per 100,000 inhabitants in SVG was 51.21, compared to 30.8 in the Bahamas and 29.6 in Jamaica.



4. New Zealand

New Zealand The recent scandal of the "Roast Buster" exposed the truth about rape in New Zealand. A group of boys from West Auckland, calling themselves "Roast Busters", targeted often underage teenage girls, plied them with alcohol and then gang-raped them. The videos of the sexual assaults were then uploaded to social media sites. Sexual assaults rose 15% in a year, and at schools the number doubled in 2012, according to the New Zealand Herald.

In 2011, police recorded 3,466 rapes and related offences, up from 3,016 in 2010. According to UN, the rate of rape cases per 100,000 inhabitants was 30 in 2011.

5. Belgium, Europe.

Belgium Dutch newspaper De Morgen reported that between 2009 and 2011, the number of reported rapes increased from 3,360 to 4,038 – an increase of more than 20%. The report was based on figures from the federal justice department.

A total of 11,170 rape cases was filed between January 2009 and December 2011. In Brussels 2,542 cases were presented. The tension between NYPD and Mayor de Blasio has not eased up over the past few days.  During slain Officer Ramos' funeral as de Blasio was speaking at the request of his family, thousands of police officers turned their backs on the mayor. This comes a couple of days after a banner was flown stating that cops have their backs to him.



Officers also turned their backs on de Blasio when he went to the hospital to pay his respects to the fallen Officers.It is clear that de Blasio's statements and actions before the execution of the officers and even during his election have done nothing but continue to anger the NYPD.  It appears that no matter how much de Blasio attempts to right his wrongs (whether real or perceived) he has lost the one group that he really needs the most in order to run NYC successfully.

Hundreds of police officers turned their backs on a screen showing New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio as he spoke at the funeral of one of two officers killed last week in what has been called an "assassination." The funeral at the Christ Tabernacle Church, in the Glendale neighborhood of Queens, was broadcast to thousands of police who gathered outside.

The killing of Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu came amid heightened tensions between the police and the mayor over what some police saw as a lack of support for the force. The atmosphere was mostly respectful, but there were scattered signs of protest even before the police officers action when the mayor spoke.

"Court of Appeal Overturns Conviction of Woman Prosecuted for Insulting Islam," by Oliver Lane, Breitbart, December 22, 2014: " A French woman who protested a temporary tent-abattoir set up in a car-park near a hospital to ritually slaughter animals for Eid has had her conviction overturned, after she appealed a €4,500 fine and three month jail sentence for calling Islam a "cesspit".

Retired school-teacher Christine Tasin, 58, was convicted under an 1881 law after the prosecution argued criticism of Islam was the equivalent of inciting violence against Muslims, and that in addition to the normal punishment of a fine and imprisonment, Tasin should also be stripped of the right to hold public office.

Her subsequent appeal was supported by Dr. Daniel Pipes' American-based Legal Project, an advisory and funding body established to "protect the right in the West to freely discuss Islam, radical Islam, terrorism, and terrorist funding", who have also backed Dutch Freedom Party leader Geert Wilders after his prosecution for criticising Islam.

Overturning the conviction last week, the court confirmed that Islamophobia and blasphemy was not a crime in France, despite the claims made by some Muslim groups after her initial conviction in August. Speaking exclusively to Breitbart London, Tasin said of the verdict: "Last Thursday was a great day for freedom of expression in France. I said, in Belfort, in 2013, before the mobile Eid abattoir that "Islam is sh*t" to Muslims who had recognized me and attacking me because I claim my Islamophobia.

"I was sentenced to a fine of €3,000 including €1,500 suspended after the Belfort court considered that I had incited hatred against Muslims. The [appeal] court in Besançon has now acknowledged that one has the right to express opinions and I did not encourage hatred against Muslims, and I can think and say that Islam is a threat to France, that it is a freedom of expression. "The Resistance to Islam and all those who, in France, fear that freedom of expression is disappearing, and that blasphemy has become a crime again are relieved".

A video of Tasin, taken by a group supporting the abattoir, formed part of the evidence brought against her in the original trial. In it she criticises the slaughterhouse, erected to enable Muslim men to cut the throats of goats and sheep for the Islamic religious festival, for being cruel and unsanitary, but is accused of being an "Islamophobe" for her comments.

Rather than backing down, she wears the label with apparent pride, replying: "Yes I am an Islamophobe, so what? It's Normal! I'm against Islam that causes problems. I don't find it normal to torture animals, I don't find it normal to veil women. I'm talking about a serious problem. "This must not happen in a public space, it is outrageous that everyone has to eat Halal without knowing it... sixty percent of animals killed in France are killed ritually in line with Islam, and people eat Halal without knowing it"....

Germany's latest "anti-Islamization" rally has attracted a record turnout, with 17,500 people estimated to have taken part in a Monday night march in the eastern city of Dresden. Protesters sang Christmas carols as organizers made speeches about immigrants and asylum seekers, according to the BBC.

The weekly rallies, organized by the "Patriotic Europeans against the Islamisation of the West," or Pegida, movement, have seen steadily growing numbers in recent weeks. The far-right populist group says it initiated the protests in October to counter the spread of Islam in Europe, though the message of the rallies has since broadened to include anti-immigrant views.

"Germany is not a land of immigration. Integration does not mean living beside each other, but to live together on the basis of the Christian-Jewish merits of our constitution and our German culture with its Christian-Jewish roots, determined by Christianity, humanism and enlightenment," said the group's leader, Lutz Bachmann, in an address to the crowd on Monday, according to Euronews.

Pegida supporters describe the group as simply educational. "I feel that their mission is to educate people about the dangers of radical Islam and not let the Muslims impose their 'beliefs' on non-Muslims," Gary Hochenstein said.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel had previously sounded the alarm about the group's aims, warning Germans not to allow themselves to be exploited by extremists. Other senior politicians have also come out against the movement, including Ralf Jäger, an interior minister for the North Rhein-Westphalia state, who described the group's members as "neo-Nazis in pinstripes," according to Deutsche Welle. Significant counter-demonstrations have also taken place across Germany, which remains sensitive to public expressions of xenophobia.

An arsonist set fire to a mosque in the Swedish town of Eskilstuna on Thursday, injuring five people, police said.

About 15 to 20 people were attending midday prayers in the mosque, located in the ground floor of a residential building, when the fire broke out on Christmas Day. Local media footage showed smoke and flames billowing from the windows before firefighters put the blaze out.

The incident comes amid a fierce debate in Sweden over immigration policies.  The far right wants to cut the number of asylum seekers allowed into Sweden by 90%, while mainstream parties are intent on preserving the country's liberal policy.
"A witness saw somebody throw an object through the window of the building, which serves as a mosque, after which a violent fire began," police spokesman Lars Franzell told reporters.

He said five people were taken to hospital for treatment of injuries ranging from smoke inhalation to lacerations.  Police are treating the incident as arson but no arrests have been made so far, Mr Franzell added.  Eskilstuna, which has a large immigrant population, was the scene of clashes involving neo-Nazi groups opposed to Sweden's immigration policy earlier this year.

On 3 December, the Sweden Democrats - a populist party with a strongly anti-immigration agenda - brought down the minority governing coalition after it had been in power for just two-and-a-half months, by refusing to support its budget plans.

The show, among other anti-Semitic references, features dirty jokes about Ilan Halimi, a French Jew who was tortured and murdered in 2006 because he was Jewish."CRIF deplores the many theaters that chose to offer him a podium to disseminate to an instrumentalized audience his hatred of Jews and of those who dare criticize him," the Jewish group said in a statement about Dieudonne's six-month tour, which is due to begin on December 27 at Zenith Nantes Metropole, one of the largest event halls in western France.

CRIF in particular criticized the Fimalac event hall operator, which owns Zenith. Some one third of Dieudonne's 20 bookings across France are in theaters owned by Fimalac, CRIF said, and called on French Culture Minister Fleur Pellerin to "remind the firms of their obligations, moral and otherwise." Several French mayors banned Dieudonne'sprevious tour in their municipalities, at the request of then-Interior Minister Manuel Vals, who is now France's Prime Minister.

WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, the Ranking Member on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said today that executive action taken by President Barack Obama may continue to allow thousands of undocumented criminals to remain in the country even though they have been identified as a priority for deportation by his own administration.   

Grassley sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson expressing his concerns that despite a 2011 enforcement memorandum prioritizing the deportation of convicted criminals, the department released more than 36,000 of them back into U.S. communities during fiscal 2013, including 169 homicide convicts.  During this same time frame, the Obama administration reportedly released an unknown number of people who had been convicted of 426 sexual assaults, 1,075 aggravated assaults, 228 kidnappings, 647 hit-and-runs, 1,317 domestic violence offenses, and thousands of other dangerous crimes, including treason.

Paris (AFP) - A driver shouted "Allahu Akbar" ("God is greatest") as he ploughed into groups of people in the eastern French city of Dijon on Sunday injuring 11 people, two seriously, a source close to the investigation said.

"The man, born in 1974, is apparently imbalanced and had been in a psychiatric hospital," the source told AFP, adding that "for now his motives are still unclear". The attack came the day after a French convert to Islam was shot dead after attacking three police officers with a knife while also reportedly crying "Allahu Akbar" in the central town of Joue-les-Tours.

The driver in Dijon was arrested by police after targeting passersby at five different places in the city on Sunday evening, a police source said. "Nine people were lightly injured and two others seriously but their lives do not appear to be in danger," the source added.

Witnesses told police that the driver shouted "Allahu Akbar" and "that he was acting for the children of Palestine," a source close to the investigation said. Interior Minister told French television station TF1 on Sunday that the man who was shot dead the day before after attacking a police station in Joue-Les-Tours was "very unstable". The anti-terror branch of the Paris prosecutor's office has opened a probe into that attack, with the line of inquiry focusing on an attack motivated by radical Islam.

Activists are warning against the silencing of criticism vented at the government after its discriminatory comments about citizens belonging to the ethnic Roma community.In their words, the approval for the government's actions has been more prominent than dissension voiced by the public.Earlier in December Health Minister Petar Moskov announced a controversially perceived measure to prevent systemic attacks to which emergency medical aid teams are subject when working in certain neighborhoods across Bulgaria.The minister explained emergency teams would not enter these areas unless their safety was guaranteed.Moskov said about two-thirds of the attacks occur in Roma-populated neighborhoods, and his comment sparked the anger of many NGOs which accused him of using "racist" rhetoric.Others, however, voiced their support for his steps which in their words were aimed at finally putting an end to the picture of beaten medical teams trying to provide aid across the country. Emergency aid workers also backed Moskov's move. Meanwhile Valeri Simeonov, co-head of the nationalist coalition Patriotic Front, questioned the Roma people's human nature.

BERLIN (Reuters) - Germany plans to finance part of the cost of four new corvette warships for the Israeli navy made by German firm Thyssen Krupp under a deal struck with the Jewish state in November, the government said on Monday.

Following approval by German parliament's budget committee the contract could be finalised before the end of this year, government spokesman Steffen Seibert said.

As part of its atonement for the Nazi Holocaust, Germany is committed to Israel's security and has often helped pay for the cost of military equipment such as submarines.   

The mass-circulation Bild am Sonntag newspaper reported on Sunday that Berlin had earmarked up to 115 million euros for the warships -- which would cost around 1 billion euros in total.  Seibert declined comment on the size of the German contribution.
