But Canada really did have a prime minister who was unashamed about his love for communist regimes, from China to the U.S.S.R. to Cuba. When Communist authorities tried to crush the Polish Solidarity Movement (which was instrumental in the fall of Communism) by imposing martial law in 1981, most of the free world had no problem siding with the downtrodden, freedom-loving worker's union. Not Trudeau. In a TV interview, when asked about the martial law order he said "hopefully the military regime will keep Solidarity from excessive demands."

Trudeau even defended the sentiment in the House of Commons, on the grounds that if the Poles got too uppity, they would invite a Soviet invasion. So, better that the crackdown be done in house. Or, as it reads in the official Parliamentary record "if martial law is a way to avoid civil war and Soviet intervention, then I cannot say it is all bad."

[What are Race and Ethnicity]

If you are unsure, the White Race is the European Race. You can try using the word Aryan, but Aryan also includes a lot of non-Whites via a mix-up with linguistics; think of brown skinned Indians for instance. And so we stick with terms White or European.

However, there are also those from the Middle or Near East on the fringe of Europe that are racially White. Think of the Iranians for example. There are of course others in the Middle East that can also be categorised as of the White Race. Although there are others in the Middle East with white skin that are not of the White Race. Arabs and Jews, for example, are of the Semitic race.

Europeans Living in Europe: Of course they know that they are European, but typically refer to themselves by their ethnicity. English, Irish, German, French ....

Europeans Living in North America/Australia: If you know your ethnic origins, then good! If not, or if you are a mixed bag of ethnicity like a lot of Australians and Americans, it's easier to just say European American/Canadian/Australian or White American/Canadian/Australian.

Ethnicity: Using myself as an example, I am of the White Race. By British standards, my ethnicity is Scots. By Australian standards I am Scottish-Australian, British-Australian, European-Australian, or simply White Australian. My heritage is not English and nor were my parents, who were born in Scotland as were their ancestors. Therefore I cannot be labelled Anglo-Australian, because I am a Celtic Australian, and I will not be insulted by a load of generalising obtuse Sassenachs or shit-slinging mud-people!
