Jonathan Daniel Portes (born 18 April 1966) is a Professor of Economics and Public Policy at the School of Politics & Economics of King's College, London and a senior fellow at UK in a Changing Europe.

Portes was born in Oxford and grew up in London, the son of Richard Portes, a Rhodes Scholar from Chicago. He earned a degree in mathematics from Balliol College, Oxford, and a master's degree in Public Affairs (Economics and Public Policy) at Princeton University. Jonathan is Jewish.

Re-done the headlining (black instead of beige), tinting and replaced the back window and stereo in my car over the last few weeks. The last major thing to get done is to have the body clayed and hit with whatever polish and paint protection a matt paintjob can take.

Just a few small things like seatbelt outlets and car mats to be done ... but they can wait too. I've bumped up the insurance, so that's the best I can do at the moment. Going to have to add an automatic solar charger for when I go to hospital.

Both gangs are said to be vying for control over the local drugs trade – particularly crack-cocaine and cannabis - and have both formed alliances with gangsters from nearby areas.
