Excerpt: A refugee who raped a 10-year-old boy will be immediately let out into the community after the High Court decided his indefinite immigration detention is unlawful.

The landmark ruling delivered on Wednesday would force the release of 92 other non-citizens being held in detention who cannot be deported to their home countries.

The court found in favour of a Rohingya paedophile - known only in proceedings as NZYQ - who has been in detention since serving a prison sentence for child sexual abuse.

The Rohingya people are a stateless Islamic people who reside in western Myanmar near the border with Bangladesh, where they are persecuted.

Because the Rohingya are not citizens of Myanmar - who consider them Bengalis and not a distinct ethnic group - NZYQ cannot be deported there.

NZYQ arrived in Australia by boat in 2012 and had his bridging visa cancelled in 2015 when he pleaded guilty to having sexual intercourse with a 10-year-old child.

He was transferred to an immigration detention centre in May 2018 after serving a minimum sentence of three years and four months and being denied a 'safe haven enterprise' visa.

Until the High Court ruling, NZYQ faced the prospect of remaining in immigration detention for the rest of his life.

He will now be released into the community and the Commonwealth will pay his legal costs.

The decision overturns a 2004 ruling which allowed the indefinite detention of non-citizens without a visa even if they could not be deported.

'The Department [of Home Affairs] has never removed a person who has been convicted of an offence involving sexual offending against a child to a country other than a country which recognises the person as a citizen.'

Interesting facts: This person served a minimum sentence of 3 years and 4 months after pleading guilty to having sex with a ten year old, presumably in immigration detention. Unbelievably light sentence. He arrived by boat in 2012 (Labor Govt) having no documents. Yet, he says he is Royghinga. Where is the evidence for this? His word? This is not explained. While that was awful in itself, what made my heart sink and started to invoke fear was when the crowd of nearly 20,000 people started yelling out "Go Palestine. Go Hamas." and other related hatful jargon. The audience was cheering Chappelle on during his tirade. I was sick. We were sick. I turned to my friends and wife and said I think it is time to go. We walked out and met up with many other Jews leaving the show. Never in my life have I felt so unsafe and so fearful of what I was witnessing. The words alone were horrific, but we were vulnerable in a public forum. How could we know what would happen? Could violence against the Jewish members in the audience break out?

Here in Boston, how was there so much hate for Jews. How could a comedy show provide such a mechanism for people to verbally shout our their hatred for Jews?

The way I see it is, if Israel manages to force all Palestinians out of Gaza, and then bombs/bulldozes the place, Israel will be calling world wide for Jews to migrate back to Israel in order to colonise the former Palestinian land. That's the way Israel and World Jewry has worked since the end of the 19th century with the beginnings of Zionism. Why should it be any different today? Or tomorrow?

Imagine that: The Jews leave our formerly White Nations and return to Israel where they belong. No more Jews pulling the strings of our puppet governments. No more Jews backing every non-White race with their money and influence. No more Jewish controlled media, Hollyweird, psychiatry or the judicial system.

We will then be free to deal with the inferior mud races the way they should be dealt with.

Then when Jews fill the land from the south of Israel to the very northern tip of Lebanon, the world will be free of the endless Jewish manipulation. After that, who cares? The Arabs could nuke them and nobody would give a damn!

Of course, that would be a best case scenario.

Should the Israelis accomplish their goals in Gaza, that's 2 million Palestinians instantly added to the refugee pool. Excerpt: Publicly displaying hate symbols — like Nazi flags and tattoos — will become illegal in Queensland, under new laws passed by state parliament.

Those who display, distribute or publish a banned symbol — and cause others to feel harassed or offended — could face up to six months' jail.

The laws also increase punishment by creating a circumstance of aggravation for people who commit crimes motivated by hatred or contempt based on characteristics like race, gender, religion or sexuality.

That could capture performing a Nazi salute in public.

What symbols will be banned?

There's no list of the hate symbols in the legislation.

Instead, the attorney-general will have the power to recommend which symbols are banned and this will be done via regulation.

What constitutes a 'display'?

It'll be illegal to display a banned symbol in a way that "might reasonably be expected" to cause a member of the public to feel menaced, harassed or offended.

That covers any form of communication – including social media posts.

It also applies to conduct that is seen by the public – like actions and gestures, as well as wearing or displaying clothing, signs, flags, emblems or insignia.

That includes the public display of tattoos and markings.

Back in March, then-attorney general Shannon Fentiman said there'd be no provision to order someone to remove such a tattoo, but if they continued to display it in public, causing offence, "they'd continue to fall foul of these laws".

"It's the display that is the criminal offence," she said.

What are the exceptions?

There will also be key exceptions to the laws so that ancient symbols from religions are not inadvertently banned.

For example, the swastika had profound meaning in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism, before it was appropriated by the Nazis.

Queensland Human Rights Commissioner Scott McDougall told the ABC in 2020 that "very often hate-related crimes are not being prosecuted as such, they're being prosecuted as public nuisance".

The new laws could see increased penalties for certain crimes where the offender is motivated by hatred or serious contempt for a person or group, by creating a new "circumstance of aggravation".

That'll apply to offences including threatening violence, common assault, threats and wilful damage.

It will also apply to public nuisance and trespass in certain circumstances – if, for example, a person was to perform a Nazi salute in public.

In addition, the maximum penalty for the offence of "serious racial, religious, sexuality or gender identity vilification" will also be increased from six months' imprisonment to three years.

NSW Police revealed they did not use special powers given to them to crack down on Muslim demonstrators.

NSW Police this week announced beefed-up security measures and 'extraordinary powers' after Premier Minns vowed to clamp down on protest activity.
