White Separatist Group Adds Members in Reno Area

Reno -- A white separatist group claims a membership drive has netted up to several dozen new members in the Reno area.

But Leonard Weinberg, a University of Nevada, Reno political science professor, accused the  Church of the Creator of inflating membership figures to make it seem more successful.

"I'd say they might have a dozen or even fewer members in the area," he told the Daily Sparks Tribune.

Local group leader Myles Munter, 22, of Reno said he was encouraged by church leaders in Auburn, Calif., to begin recruiting new members in the Reno area about six months ago.

The group has placed fliers on car windshields, especially on and near the University of Nevada, Reno campus.

"We've been dealing with the youth, especially with people of college age," said Munter, a forklift operator. "You're never too young to be proud of your people.

"We're about the best thing for our race. We encourage the sanctity of the white family."

The church was created in 1973 by Ben Klassen of Florida, who was state chairman of Alabama Gov. George Wallace's 1968 presidential campaign. Klassen, who hailed Adolf Hitler as the greatest white leader ever, committed suicide in 1993.

Barbara Bergen, regional director of the Anti-Defamation League's San Francisco office, said she has watched with concern as church leaders have stepped up their activity in the Reno area.

"I'm very unhappy about their recent recruitment drive," she said. "They have a real propensity for violence ... We really need to keep an eye on them."

Bergen's organization has linked group members to at least one murder and two hate crime conspiracies.

Church member Nick Houston, 17, a local construction worker, said members are continually harassed by police wherever they go.

"They treat us like ex-cons out on parole," he said. "They don't want us to speak our minds. They want us to shut up."

The Church of the Creator, an anti-Semitic, anti-black group that now calls Milwaukee its headquarters, operated almost invisibly in Otto, N.C., for 10 years, officials and observers said Friday.

"We never see anybody down there," said Bob Scott, a reporter with the Asheville Citizen-Times in western North Carolina.

Scott covered the group and its founder, Ben Klassen, for a decade in North Carolina.

"The most I've ever seen down there at any one time is Klassen and two other guys," Scott said.  "He had a guy down there one time who wore a white beret, with black military boots with red laces.  He stomped around down there."

Scott said most people in the rural area surrounding the church ignored it.

Officials in the Macon County Sheriff's Department recalled only one incident of violence at the church grounds.  In the early 1980s one of the church's reverends shot out the tires on a car that had mistakenly turned into the driveway.

He was sent to prison.

State and federal authorities in North Carolina also reported no contacts with the group, which preaches against Jews and all non-whites.

"We just want to promote the white race and the survival of the white race, which is going down the drain," said Klassen, who founded the group and held the position of Pontifex Maximus.

"We want to alert the white race of the danger they're in of extinction."

Klassen said he turned over the command of the organization June 15 to a man he identified as Brandon O'Rourke.  O'Rourke, whom he identified as a reverend, allegedly has been the leader of the church's branch in Milwaukee.

There is no listing for Brandon O'Rourke in the Milwaukee phone directory.  The State Division of Motor Vehicles has no record of anyone with that name.  The church's Milwaukee address is a postal box.

Klassen said Friday he would contact O'Rourke and have him call the Milwaukee Sentinel, but later said he would do it on another day.  He refused to give out O'Rourke's phone number.

Klassen said the group chose Milwaukee because the branch headed by O'Rourke had been successful and aggressive.

Seminole -- Before dawn one day recently, someone drove through a Seminole neighborhood tossing copies of a white supremacist newspaper that calls for a racial holy war against minorities.

Articles in the 12-page tabloid called Racial Loyalty, the spearhead of the white racial holy war, urge white people to unite to overthrow "the sinister and treacherous Jew" as well as "n------ and other mud people."

Writer Ben Klassen, 73, calls Christians yokels who worship "spooks in the sky."

The tabloid is published by Church of the Creator out of Otto, N.C.

At least a dozen copies of the tabloid were tossed on driveways in a Seminole neighborhood east of Oakhurst Road about a week ago.

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Marianne Pasha said copies of Racial Loyalty have been "popping up for about a year now in a variety of places, the Pinellas Park library, Carrollwood (in Tampa) and as far north as Spring Hill."

Law enforcement is concerned, Pasha said, because Klassen's followers tend to be more violent than other white supremacists.

The Foundation of the White Empire

    All great empires require citizens to work for the greater good in socialistic enterprises. A human ocean of workers, laboring for eons toward the greatness of an empire, can and will create a magnificent land of effulgent grandeur. It is clear that a realm of builders working in unison towards a single goal can accomplish their mission but is it feasible to expect a country that does not embody this principle to become exalted? Can a nation that emphasizes the self over the whole, flourish and thrive?

    A world populated exclusively by self indulging hedonists would be one of constant anarchy and strife. Holy virtues like honor, loyalty, and integrity would only exist so long as they were profitable to the individual. It seems that happiness would be but a fleeting butterfly that would entertain us for a brief moment before being seized by a fellow villain who would undoubtedly fling us from atop the very mountaintops, if given the chance. A society of these miscreants would prohibit the establishment of anything truly great as they focused on pleasing themselves over constructing a healthy society. It is difficult to imagine any order emerging from this environment whatsoever as even the most ruthless leaders would never be sure of anyone's loyalty, as the masses would yearn for personal indulgence at the expense of the whole.

    Most countries of the world combine socialistic affairs with blatant sensualism. Working together on such projects as education, policing, construction, and politics, exists, right alongside, those who rape and pillage the kingdom in an orgy of sordid rapture. Throughout history, this has been the prevalent state of affairs and, as usual, race was the overwhelming factor in determining whether or not a country became great. The tenacity of the White Race allows these lands to blossom but the expungement of the cancerous vermin who place themselves over the greater good, would certainly propel a nation to unknown, vaunted heights.

    The best example of a country utilizing extreme socialism would undoubtedly have to be the National Socialist Empire in Germany. This formidable machine extricated itself from a dire quagmire full of miasmatic disease to bask in the salubrious rays of a golden, bathing sunshine. The folk were equipped with a mission to glorify their fatherland and this they did splendidly and rapidly despite the brief hiccup of time that was awarded to them. Such organization and purpose were marvelous to behold and it is certainly wise to learn the lessons of Father Time. Therefore, it is unmistakably clear that extreme socialism is not only workable but desirable, while extreme self indulgence is a composition of chaos.

    While it is truly lucid that wonder is achieved by working for the betterment of a society, there will assuredly always be a tiny minority of the population who will simply not exude the gregarious attributes of the masses. As a result, this element will tend to isolate themselves in a hermetic existence. This environment can often lead to bitterness and contempt of the masses but can also lead to great wisdom. The mere fact that these recluses do not mingle well with others, is no reason that they cannot contribute their skills to further improve the quality of life. Many people even require time alone before they can undertake major projects so we must respect the needs of the populace in order to improve it. Consequently, it isn't absolutely necessary to be working alongside our comrades in order to catapult our people to new peaks of loftiness; as long as everyone is working for the best interests of the kingdom as a whole, our goals will be attained.

    In order to create a wondrous world of beauty, it is clear that selfish interests must be liquidated and concentrating on the needs of the empire must take precedence. Of course, this doesn't mean that we need to forego pleasure and all its sweet ecstasies. Enjoyment of our own life is mandatory if we wish to help build and maintain an empire of significance but we simply must place the needs of the empire over the needs of the individual.
     
    When we have a domain that harmoniously sings an enchanting melody of joy, we will be ready to forge our exalted White Empire. Monuments of grandiosity will sweeten our landscapes; lush fields of natural elegance will freshen our spirits; beatitude will reign magnanimously throughout the realm. All this and whatever else our sapient minds can hope for, await our noble clan. Daily, our unifying numbers swell so that the sounds of our might increase and increase. Ever so faintly, the lighthouse atop our paradise can be seen as it caresses our cheek like a tender lover, and beckons us onward. The time draws near when our Racial Socialist ideal will come to fruition in our White Empire.
