At least 18 people were shot, one of them fatally, Christmas Eve into Sunday morning in Mayor Lori Lightfoot's (D) Chicago. The one fatality occurred Christmas Day "in the 3000 block of North Avers" when a 24-year-old was shot and killed. Police received calls reporting the shooting at 10:37 p.m. and arrived to find the victim deceased with a head wound. Chicago registered its 800th homicide of the year on December 14.

Two days later, on October 16, WBEZ pointed out that Chicago's homicides had surpassed 810 for the year. Chicago, like all of Illinois, has a 72-hour waiting period on gun purchases, a red flag law, and a Firearm Owners Identification card requirement for all would-be gun owners. The process for getting a FOID card includes going through a background check. Additionally, Cook County, the county in which Chicago sits, has an "assault weapons" ban.

Canadian media outlet Rebel News is suing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's security detail after officers roughed up veteran journalist David Menzies as he stood on a public sidewalk as Trudeau arrived at an event in Toronto

Raw video footage of the Dec. 9 encounter, which was reviewed by Breitbart News, shows Menzies chatting amiably with people outside a venue called Brickworks, at one point asking passers-by why they thought the prime minister was late for the event. As a motorcade is seen arriving at the venue, an officer tells Menzies, who appears to be standing on the sidewalk, to "get out of the road" because he could "get hit by a car." (The person operating the video camera appears, from the camera angle, to be standing in the road.) Menzies then jokes, "You'd like to see that." The officer replies, "I wouldn't like to see that at all. ... It means a lot of paperwork for me."

Several seconds later, without warning or provocation, an officer appears to seize Menzies by the arm. Several other officers then surround him, pushing him down the sidewalk and shoving his face into a wooden fence, restraining him. "Are you kidding?" Menzies asks, noting that he was standing on a public sidewalk. He demands to know whether he is under arrest, and the officers do not respond. Public sidewalks offer similar protections of free speech and press freedom in Canada as they do in the U.S., with rare exceptions.

The lawsuit, filed by Menzies and Rebel News against the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and several officers, notes: While Mr. Menzies prepared for the Prime Minister's arrival at Brickworks on public property, several RCMP officers ... intentionally surrounded, detained, totally confined, physically assaulted and battered, and knocked over Mr. Menzies, and prevented Mr. Menzies from interacting with the Prime Minister, all without provocation, warning, or reasonable grounds... The lawsuit also notes that Trudeau and his government have repeatedly barred Rebel News, a conservative outlet, from public events, despite Trudeau's professed commitment to press freedom. It suggests that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers in Trudeau's security detail were acting out of political motives and "a culture of aggression" against Rebel News.

A Holland America Line cruise ship was denied entry to a Mexican port over the weekend after health officials discovered positive COVID-19 *

  The Mexican state of Jalisco's health department confirmed to media outlets that 21 crew members on the Koningsdam cruise line tested positive for the CCP virus, which causes COVID-19 when it arrived in the tourist resort city of Puerto Vallarta. "Through onboard testing, we have confirmed that a small number of fully-vaccinated crew on Koningsdam tested positive for COVID-19," Holland America wrote in a statement on Saturday to news outlets. "All are showing mild or no symptoms and are in isolation. Close contacts have been quarantined out of an abundance of caution." ... the entire crew was tested for COVID-19 before departure on Dec. 19. Only one positive case was discovered. Holland America's website says that patrons and staff have to be fully vaccinated, as well as provide a negative COVID-19 test in order to board its ships. The cruise line also mandates that guests and staff have to wear masks inside.

"Royal Caribbean International's Odyssey of the Seas will not visit Curacao or Aruba as planned," the cruise line told The Epoch Times. "The decision was made together with the islands out of an abundance of caution due to the current trend of COVID-19 cases in the destinations' communities as well as crew and guests testing positive on board–55 crew members and guests, representing 1.1 percent of the onboard community." "The cruise sailed with 95 percent of the onboard community fully vaccinated." It's not clear if the Omicron variant triggered the outbreak on either of the two ships. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated that as of last week, Omicron made up 73 percent of all COVID-19 cases. Meanwhile, recent studies have signaled that the new CCP virus strain causes milder symptoms and has resulted in far fewer hospitalizations worldwide. Only one death has been associated with the new strain in the United States—in Houston, Texas.

A woman armed with a pickaxe entered a Rite Aid in Venice on Wednesday, stole merchandise and cursed at onlookers. Even the far-left Daily Beast is now admitting that you can't trust Joe Biden.  Joe Biden is losing Democrats.  Joe Biden had a credibility problem his whole life.  He was known for  telling tall tales and sniffing kids.  His family has multiple  financial ties with China. His son is a drug addict who left evidence  of taking drugs, hanging out with hookers, and cutting deals with China  and other countries. This was all recorded on his laptop.

Anyone who  trusted Joe Biden a year ago was a fool.  Now even some of those fools  are waking up. Joe Biden ends the year having disappointed progressive Democrats like AOC, moderate Democrats like Joe Manchin, Republicans... Other than that, he's doing great! Coming into the year, Biden's only mandate was not being Donald Trump... The Supreme Court like fake elections, may not want to get it's hands dirty

Attorneys general (AG) from 24 states have filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration challenging COVID-19 vaccine mandates for early education staff and mask mandates for young children. Led by Louisiana AG Jeff Landry, the lawsuit   argues that the mandates involving Head Start, the country's largest  early education program, are unlawful and exceed President Joe Biden's  statutory authority. Biden's mandate, issued last month, applies to all preschool programs funded by the federal Head Start program...  It mandates vaccinations for staff, volunteers, and others in  contact with students by the end of January and requires masks for all  adults and children aged two and above. The mandate offers no alternative to vaccinations, and for those  granted exemptions... It  applies to staff regardless of whether they work in person or remotely.

The lawsuit argues that the president's mandate is projected to lead  to tens of thousands of Head Start agency staff losing their jobs and will cause programs to close or reduce capacity... Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry said... "If enacted, Biden's authoritarianism will cut funding,  programs, and childcare that working families, single mothers, and  elderly raising grandchildren rely on desperately." The 24 states are seeking to block the Biden administration's mandate, arguing that it is "arbitrary and capricious" and violates the Congressional Review Act and the Tenth Amendment. The requirements also violate the Administrative Procedure Act's  Notice-and-Comment Requirement, the Nondelegation Doctrine, the  Anti-Commandeering Doctrine, the Spending Clause, and the Treasury and  General Government Appropriations Act of 1999, the lawsuit argues.  Landry said. "My office has had great success in  blocking Biden's mandates ...

It also cites recommendations from the World Health Organization that "based on the safety and overall interest of the child and the capacity to appropriately use a mask," "children aged 5 years and under should not be required to wear masks." The complaint cites pediatric nurse Anthony Luczak, who says a toddler mask mandate may cause psychological and health problems. The "reinforcement of wearing masks because of the threat of the  pandemic is a reinforcement of fear that directly is triggering a toxic  stress in children's lives," she said. It argues that because the federal program does not clearly authorize  the mandate, the Biden administration "has acted 'in excess' of its  constitutional and statutory authority." A massive brawl broke out at Miami International Airport on Monday evening

  According to Miami PD, officers were called after a fight broke out in front of the H8 gate over a delayed flight. The mob surrounded an officer who had an unruly traveler in a hold. The officer was able to break away from the mob and brandished a pistol to make them back off. Two men were taken into custody. Two people are in custody after a brawl broke out at Miami International Airport Monday evening.

According to the Miami-Dade Police Department, officers were called out... after an airport employee reported a disturbance stemming from a delayed charter flight. Responding officers then found an unruly passenger had allegedly taken the keys to an airport transport golf cart, refusing to let the employee to leave. Video taken by traveler Mike Majlak captured a large crowd surrounding one of the officers, who had someone in a hold.

When New Jersey Democratic Rep. Albio Sires announced that he wouldn't seek reelection, he became the 23rd sitting Democrat in the House of Representatives to opt out of seeking another term in Congress. For a party with a majority that depends upon a mere handful of votes, losing 23 House veterans is a crushing blow, but more such announcements are expected as filing deadlines approach for the 2022 midterm congressional elections. ... majorities disapproving of President Joe Biden's performance and holding congressional Democrats responsible for the nation's growing list of serious problems. Schoen's survey is especially telling because of the intensity of voter determination reflected in the responses. Fully 72 percent said they are "absolutely certain" to vote in November 2022 and another 28 percent said they are "very likely." 

Numbers like those suggest 2022 could see a record midterm turnout if the present trends continue. Two-thirds, or 66 percent, of respondents agreed when asked if they believe "Joe Biden and Democrats in Congress are out of touch with hardworking Americans. They have been so focused on passing their own agenda that they've been ignoring Americans' day-to-day concerns, such as the rising prices for goods and gasoline." Only 30 percent disagreed... with Joe Biden's election, but it's just been more of the same. The country is still divided, the coronavirus pandemic is still ongoing, inflation is at a 30-year high and gasoline prices are soaring." On issue after issue, respondents expressed disagreement and dissatisfaction with the direction the country is heading...

Asked "generally speaking, would you prefer that there be Democratic control or Republican control of the U.S. House of Representatives," 46 percent of the respondents said they prefer GOP control, while 43 percent chose Democratic control. Asked how concerned they are with the violent crime surge, 58 percent said they are very concerned and 31 percent said they are somewhat concerned. A huge majority of the respondents, 62 percent, said they oppose defunding the police. Perhaps even more disturbing for Democrats is that 69 percent of the respondents agreed that "Joe Biden and Democrats are soft on crime." And 67 percent of the respondents said the country has become more divided since Biden took office, while 52 percent said they believe Biden has weakened the U.S. economy.

Terry] McAuliffe banged the anti-Trump drum constantly on his way to losing the race for Virginia governor," ... Joe Biden's administration is planning to mail out some 500 million COVID-19 tests, starting in January, according to the White House

The White House on Tuesday said it will send the test kits to homes  as part of an effort to deal with the Omicron COVID-19 variant, which  the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday said  accounts for about 73 percent of cases in the United States. It's not  clear yet whether the variant causes more severe disease than previous  variants, although fewer than a dozen deaths have been reported  worldwide. "Today, the President is announcing his Administration will purchase a half-billion at-home, rapid tests this winter to be distributed for free to Americans who want them, with the initial delivery starting in January 2022," ... Additional federal test sites will also be set up across the United  States in the coming days, starting in New York City, according to the  White House, in a bid to help "states that need additional testing  capacity."... White House press secretary Jen Psaki earlier this month told reporters that the administration won't be mailing test kits to every home.

In the press release, the White House confirmed it will send 1,000 members of the military such as military doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other medical personnel to hospitals in January and February. Six emergency response teams with more than 100 staff members are  also being sent to Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Arizona, New Hampshire,  and Vermont, said the White House... The CDC Monday reported that Omicron is rapidly spreading and may be  the dominant variant in the country, representing some 73 percent of  sequenced U.S. cases. ...

Authorities in South Africa, where Omicron is first believed to have  emerged, reported that the hospitalization rate for  Omicron patients is about one-tenth of the hospitalization rate that was  seen during the early phase of the Delta wave. New York City's chief  medical official made a similar statement. "Right now, there are about a thousand people hospitalized with  COVID-19 across New York City. That's about a quarter of where we were  at the peak of last winter's wave and less than a tenth of where we were  in the spring of 2020,"... blaming the rise in  infections on the "Omicron wave." On Tuesday evening, Biden is slated to make a televised announcement  about the initiative. During a news conference Monday, Psaki said the  president will not call for additional lockdowns or stay-at-home orders.

Omicron is spreading rapidly in London and is expected to become the dominant strain by Christmas, according to scientists. The current top five symptoms are:

3. Fatigue, ranging from mild to severe
4. Sneezing
5. Sore throat

"As our latest data shows, Omicron symptoms are predominantly cold symptoms, runny nose, headache, sore throat and sneezing, so people should stay at home as it might well be COVID," said professor Tim Spector, lead scientist on the ZOE COVID Study app. "We are also seeing two to three times as many mild infections in people with boosters in Omicron areas as we do in Delta variant areas, but they are still very protective and a vital weapon."

The first U.S. case of omicron was identified on Dec. 1 in California, less than a month after it was found in Botswana on Nov. 11 and South Africa on Nov. 14. Research indicates omicron could be more transmissible than the current delta variant that remains the dominant strain in the U.S.

The Public Interest Legal Foundation sued Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, a Democrat, for allegedly failing to remove from the state's voter rolls the names of 26,000 registered voters who have either died or moved away. According to PILF President J. Christian Adams, the failure to remove the names "creates an opportunity for fraud." The lawsuit also alleges that 334 people registered to vote after they died, with 15 of those registrations occurring in 2020. Benson's office said they do not comment on pending litigation.  However, Tracy Wimmer... said "Michigan maintains its voter registration list in accordance with all state and federal laws."

The office of the Michigan Attorney General filed a response to PILF's complaint and a motion to dismiss the case on December 13, 2021.  In the reply, Benson denies any failures to perform list maintenance activities required by federal law. Her lawyers point out that the National Voting Rights Act requires only that a state conduct a general program and make a reasonable effort to remove the names of ineligible voters from the official voter registration list by notice of death...

The complaint alleges, that "when more than 25,000 deceased registrants are identified on the qualified voter list and not removed for an extended period of years, the list maintenance program is not only unreasonable, it is failing. "The NVRA does not simply require a percentage or portion of dead registrants to be removed, it requires a program that actually detects dead registrants and removes them. "Among other requests, PILF is asking the court to require Benson to remove the names of deceased voters from the rolls and to order her to allow inspection of records pertaining to the implementation of programs and activities used in cleaning up the voter list....

Struggling with his wounds, he begged strangers for help before collapsing and dying.  Other white people, including an Italian tourist who did not know Giri, were attacked by 25-year-old Vincent Pinkney, who is black, during the rampage. One of the victims, Roberto Malaspina, was stabbed in the back but survived. Pinkney's stabbing spree is being presented in the American press as "random" due to the fact that nothing was stolen and he did not know the victims.  The black suspect's affiliation with the Bloods, a gang that actively works together with Black Lives Matter organizers across the country, has also been reported.

Out of all of the thousands of January 6's protesters, and the thousands of hours of publicly available footage from that fateful day, Ray Epps has turned out to be perhaps the only person nailed dead to rights confessing on camera to plotting a pre-planned attack on the Capitol. On both January 5 and January 6, Epps announced multiple times,  at multiple locations, his upcoming plot to breach the US Capitol. He  then spent hours attempting to recruit hundreds of others to join him. On top of it all, Epps was seen leading key people and managing key aspects of the initial breach of the Capitol grounds himself.

Epps's repeated calls on January 5 to "go  into the Capitol" had simply amounted to bluster. But Epps followed  through on his stated mission to shepherd others inside. In clips 4-6 of  the above compilation, we see Epps actively orchestrate elements of the  very first breach of the Capitol barricades at 12:50 p.m, while Trump  still had 20 minutes left in his rally speech. It is noteworthy that this Ray Epps breach occurs just one minute  after Capitol Police began responding to reports of two "pipe bombs"  located at DNC and GOP headquarters, respectively. Rather conveniently,  the already-handicapped Capitol Police thus had still-fewer resources  with which to respond to the barricade breach in question.

Here's another picture to make perfectly clear what he was doing, and how strange and methodical it was.

In large part, this description is hardly an exaggeration. Indeed, it was the breach of the Capitol grounds, in conjunction with a handful of suspicious individuals ripping down fencing and signage, that set in motion the conditions allowing for 1/6 to turn from a rally into a riot. As we explained in detail in our previous report, the FBI originally put  Ray Epps's face on its Capitol Violence "Most Wanted List" on January  8, 2021, just two days after 1/6. They offered a cash reward  for information leading to his arrest.... The sham Congressional January 6 Commission seems to be going along with  the charade of Ray Epps denialism....

This man remains unindicted. In fact, the FBI does not even appear to be looking for him. He is wholly absent from the FBI Capitol "Most Wanted List." There is no reward for information leading to his arrest.

FBI Director Chris Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland have an awful lot of explaining to do... The Ray Epps breach team thus set up a bobby trap by pushing back the police, then hauling away the "restricted area"  signage, the chain fencing, and the metal barricades... Without police present or "do  not enter" signs prominently visible, people leaving Trump's speech and  arriving at the Capitol entrance would have no idea it was illegal to  walk through the gate, or onto the lawn, or up to the Capitol steps.  Instead, they heard friendly music and saw the main walkway to the  Capitol grounds wide open...

Moreover, the giant main component of Trump protesters would not arrive  at this Capitol entrance until 50 minutes after the Ray Epps Breach Team  opened up the walkway... This giant component  arrived at the entrance and saw hundreds of people already inside the  Capitol grounds. They would no longer stage their protest back behind  the fencing, because the Breach Team booby-trappers had already hauled  most of it away before they got there. The giant component therefore  walked all the way up to the Capitol building itself.

In our October 10 Revolver report,  we showed January 6 footage of one dark-complected man coolly and  methodically cutting down and then rolling up "restricted area" fencing  around the Capitol lawn. He had no Trump gear on, and made sure to wear  dark sunglasses on a cloudy day. He was not angry. He was dispassionate,  calm, and professional, like he was just there to do a job... we might chalk it up to coincidence. But  the presence of multiple key breach figures waiting here seems too much  to be coincidental. In the below video,... you will see Ray Epps already in position at the exact walkway entrance the breach team will pry open, at least six minutes before they arrive (in fact, we know he was there 45 minutes before they arrived too).

For nearly 90 minutes straight, he bombards the otherwise leaderless  crowd below him with endless variations on a single instruction: "Don't just stand there. Keep moving forward!" When forced to think on his feet, he mindlessly babbled that "We need  to go inside the Capitol" because "The Capitol is our enemy." ...

...The official story says an individual named Ryan Samsel started the riot by pushing the barricades first. But there's just one problem with this situation: the FBI knows exactly who BlackSkiMask is already. And for some reason, they're still not prosecuting him. The feds don't just have an ID on BlackSkiMask, they have an entire  police report—and a shocking one at that. Syrian air defenses shot down "most of" the incoming missiles that were reportedly launched by Israel from the direction of the occupied Golan Heights, in a new attack on the country's territory

The Israeli military reportedly pummeled several areas in southern Syria with missiles shortly after midnight on Thursday local time, state news agency SANA reported, citing military officials. Syria's air defenses were scrambled to repel the attack and intercepted the majority of the missiles launched from the direction of the Golan Heights, the agency said. "Our air defenses responded to an Israeli aggression that targeted some points in the southern region and shot down most of the hostile missiles," a military source said.

However, the strike led to the death of one Syrian soldier and inflicted "material losses," according to SANA.Israel routinely bombards Syrian territory in largely overnight raids on the pretext of targeting Iranian positions. Earlier this month, the port near the city of Latakia was targeted in another suspected Israeli raid, which sparked a major fire at a portside storage area.

The attacks, which are rarely acknowledged by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), have led to multiple civilian casualties throughout the years. Just last month, at least two Syrian civilians were killed and six soldiers were injured in an alleged Israeli missile strike believed to be carried out from Lebanese airspace.

A new Business Insider report revealed 49 members of Congress failed to correctly report their stock trades which is required under the STOCK Act. Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle failed to disclose stock trades. Citing Business Insider, a reporter asked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi if members of Congress should be banned from trading stocks. "Should members of congress and their spouses be banned from trading individual stocks while serving in Congress?" a reporter asked Pelosi.

It was also revealed Richard Burr's brother-in-law called his broker and dumped stock just one minute after getting off the phone with the North Carolina senator,... Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein was also connected to suspicious stocks after the Coronavirus meeting. Feinstein's husband, Richard Blum sold his shares in Allogene Therapeutics Inc, a biotech company, and made between $1.5 million and $6 million before the Coronavirus stock market spiral. According to Feinstein's spox, the Democrat Senator voluntarily turned over documents to the FBI and answered questions about her husband's stock transactions. Feinstein claims she had nothing to do with her husband's stock trades.

President Joe Biden could not let a tragedy go by — even one of the  worst tornadoes in living memory — without politicizing it for the  left's favorite cause: the crusade against climate change.  With survivors still desperate for rescue, and the bodies still being recovered, a journalist asked Biden whether the Kentucky storm was a result of climate change. He answered  that while he did not know about this particular storm, he would ask the Environmental Protection Agency to investigate.

Florida is fighting back against Biden's border crisis. A new emergency rule has been issued in Florida which would not allow the renewing or issuing of licenses to facilities that are housing illegal alien children. Those that have a license and are housing illegal alien children will face strict restrictions. An emergency rule issued by Florida authorities on Friday bars issuing or renewing licenses for any entities that house illegal immigrant children.... The move is required to protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children in the state being cared for by childcare entities, and in the absence of a cooperative agreement between the state and the federal government regarding the illegal aliens, the agency said. Facilities that are already housing the children will be able to keep housing them but will face stricter regulations.

1. Ban state and local agencies from doing business with or providing benefits to any private-sector business or NGO that helps facilitate illegal immigration to Florida.

2. Ban state agencies from renewing state contracts with transportation companies, such as airlines and bus services, that facilitate illegal immigration to Florida.

3. Require private-sector businesses and NGOs, who facilitate illegal immigration to Florida, to provide compensation to the state of Florida to cover all costs that fall on taxpayers.

4. Mandate county and local jails, as well as courts, to collect immigration status data at the time of a suspect's arrest and conviction. The information would be reported to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

5. Ban Florida officials from providing any discretionary benefits to illegal aliens while state agencies and hospitals will be required to annually report taxpayer-funded expenses for illegal aliens...

The Biden Administration was caught sending illegal aliens into Florida. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is working with the Florida legislature to find a way to stop illegal migrants from being dropped in his state, according to reports. DeSantis' office has announced that the government has sent more than 70 flights of migrants to Jacksonville, Florida. "Over 70 air charter flights [on] jetliner airliners coming from the southwest border have landed at Jacksonville International Airport," Larry Keefe, DeSantis' public safety czar, told the Washington Examiner. "On average, there's 36 passengers on each of these flights. And that has been going on over the course of the summer through September."

The mayor of an Arizona border city that has nearly 100,000 residents declared a state of emergency this week due to the soaring numbers of illegal immigrants flooding in from Mexico. Yuma Mayor Douglas Nicholls said he issued the declaration "due to the unprecedented numbers of migrants entering the city prior to being processed and released by Border Patrol.".. Apprehensions of illegal immigrants in Customs and Border Protection's Yuma Sector have shot up since President Joe Biden took office in January. Border agents in the sector made about 8,800 arrests in fiscal year 2020, which ended in September 2020. They made over 114,000 arrests in fiscal year 2021 and 21,623 arrests in the month of October alone.

Agents are releasing many of the illegal aliens into the United States, Yuma County Sheriff Leon Wilmot told The Epoch Times. Under the Biden administration, nearly 95,000 illegal immigrants have been released without a court date, and an untold number of others have been released with a court date. Some don't show up to court and the majority of those that do are denied asylum. Illegal immigrants are ditching identification cards before crossing the border ... "They don't want to be associated with those countries, because they know they'll get sent back. So it's all a false narrative... They're playing the game,"...

The group included eight nationalities, including 33 Venezuelans, 15 Colombians. four Bangladeshis, three Romanians, and two Russian men. Six young men from India were at the border fence area the previous evening. Illegal immigrants are directed from the Mexican side to cross in a certain area because the border is a small, fairly shallow (about 3 feet) creek below a dam. The border fence here used to be just Normandy barriers, of x-shaped barriers, which were built to stop vehicles crossing. Construction started on a 30-foot tall fence during the Trump era but was halted before it was complete, and that's where the illegal aliens come up after crossing the creek.

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, a Republican, was in Yuma this week. He announced he was surging Arizona National Guard personnel and equipment to the area to help deal with the flood of immigrants. "The Biden border crisis is out of control and it's getting worse by the day," Ducey told reporters after a tour with local authorities. The administration's ending of "sensible policies" like the "Remain in Mexico" program has led to the crisis, Ducey asserted...
