Senior Tories yesterday indicated that they would back a 'No' vote in the EU referendum if Britain fails to claw back powers from Europe.
In a long-awaited speech last week, David Cameron announced an in-out referendum on Britain's membership of the EU in 2017 if the Conservatives win the next election.

But party chairman Grant Shapps yesterday conceded that if Britain was unable to repatriate the measures it wanted before the referendum, 'we'll be in a different position'.
London mayor Boris Johnson piled further pressure on Mr Cameron when he became the first senior Tory to make clear he would vote 'No' if the Government did not obtain 'the right deal'.
