Dolphins are very interesting in that they too have differnt races. There are forty specises classified as dolphins though some we would commonly call whales, killer whales, fresh water dolphins etc. There are about 16 races that I can identify. Each race has its particular niche and habitat from cold water to tropical to shallow to deep water.
I found it interesting and of note that in the Caribbean the bottle nosed dolphin and the spotted dolphin often come into contact/conflict. The bottle nosed dolphins are promiscuous and prone to rape and gang rape of the females. They even rape the females of the more timid spotted dolphins producing hybrids. The spotted dolphins in return appear to have greater intelligence are more monogamous and move to deeper water to avoid the bottle noses. So there you go.. the bottle nose dolphin is the nigger of the dolphin world.
