This ruling came about in the case of Heriberto Carbajal-Flores, who faced charges under 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(5), a federal statute that prohibits noncitizens without legal status in the U.S. from "possess[ing] in or affecting commerce, any firearm or ammunition; or to receive any firearm or ammunition which has been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce." Carbajal-Flores, who has been living in the United States illegally, was charged after he was found to be carrying a gun in Chicago during the civil unrest in the spring of 2020. He and his lawyers have fought the charge, arguing that the gun was for self-defense and citing a Supreme Court ruling ... that New York's law was unconstitutional and that the ability to carry a pistol in public was a constitutional right.

Judge Coleman concurred with Carbajal-Flores' defense, stating that his nonviolent history and adherence to the conditions of his pretrial release demonstrated he did not pose a public safety risk. New Mexico State police said Saturday they have identified the suspect in the shooting death of one of their officers as a 33-year-old South Carolina man who was driving a car that belonged to a woman killed in his home state. State Police Chief Troy Weisler said during a news conference that authorities are seeking Jaremy Smith of Marion, of South Carolina, in the fatal shooting of Officer Justin Hare, 35. Smith was considered armed and dangerous...  Hare was dispatched to help a motorist in a white BMW with a flat tire on Interstate 40... Hare parked behind the BMW, and the suspect got out, approached the patrol car on the passenger side, then shot the officer without warning. They said the suspect then walked to the driver's side of the police vehicle, shot Hare again, and pushed him into the back seat before taking off in the patrol vehicle.  State police were alerted to the shooting by a "duress signal" coming from Hare's radio, Weisler said. ... Hare was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Weisler said his department later learned that the white BMW was reported missing in South Carolina and that it belonged to a woman who was killed there... New Mexico State police are in contact with South Carolina authorities... The Marion County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina reported that Machado-Fore's body was found outside of Lake View in Dillon County. Her family had reported her missing Thursday evening.  Weisler said Smith had ties to New Mexico, having spent time there in the past, and had a long criminal history.

The city made the move amid concerns that a massive migrant tent at Floyd Bennett Field would collapse from torrential rains and gusting winds — packing them instead into the second-floor gym at James Madison High School five miles away.  The school's neighbors were not keen on the last-minute decision. Zachariah Bannister was in a car with his mom, Nichole Groshong, while she was making food deliveries for DoorDash in a Southwest Lawton neighborhood on Sunday, Dec. 10. The student was hospitalized with non life-threating injuries after the assault, which happened after school at the parking lot of a park near the high school, as reported by WSVN. Coral Springs police said they responded to the incident on Tuesday at about 3pm. Students at the high school are reportedly given passes to park at the park. A friend of the victim told local media that 15 people had chased him before the attack. At least two attackers are seen continuing to punch the victim after he was smashed into the ground.

A group of asylum seekers were seen being bused to Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn on Sunday. The site, part of a national park located in southeast of the New York City borough, is expected to hold 2,000 people. But they were immediately loaded on a bus back to Manhattan as they complained that they had jobs back in the city - and their kids had schools to attend... a New York Assemblywoman who represents the district where the field is located, sounded stunned as she filmed the puzzling scene. A Tennessee doctor died while trying to ward off a robber from his wife and toddler, according to reports, leading police to make two arrests in Memphis, Tenn. Alexander Bulakhov, 32, was out on a walk with his wife Anastasia Bulakhov and their 2-year-old daughter on Sunday when a man appeared in a ski-mask brandishing a gun... The man, identified in the affidavit as Marious Ward, allegedly "demanded property" from the couple and Alexander "surrendered" what was in his wallet, including identification and a credit card. Ward then "pointed the firearm directly" at Anastasia and asked her to do the same, prompting Alexander to try and fight off Ward to "defend" her, the affidavit claims. During the scuffle, the gun went off and gravely injured the research doctor, according to the affidavit. He succumbed to his injuries after being taken to the hospital, the Memphis Police Department said in a press release. The suspects fled in a white vehicle that had "distinct" damages such as a missing rear bumper, a dented front door and a possibly broken glass window, the affidavit says, adding that surveillance footage shows the same vehicle "casing for potential victims" before the incident

When illegals from Venezuela want to leave the US to go back to their Marxist hellhole, that is a clear sign that things are really bad. The particular city we are referring to is Chicago, Illinois. The lack of work opportunities and living in shelters has convinced many of the illegals they just might be better off back at home. Chicago was known as a sanctuary city, so thousands of illegals entering the US were sent there, particularly by Texas Governor Greg Abbott. Things are rapidly changing for them, including a difficult winter and lack of support from local governments. Many are considering going back to Venezuela. This is very revealing of the hypocrisy of sanctuary cities. They talk a big game ...

Chicago has become so unpleasant that migrants are fleeing back to Venezuela after being dumped in shelters and refused better-paying jobs.  Since August last year, 20,700 migrants have arrived in Chicago from Texas. The Lone Star State's Governor Greg Abbott sent migrants to Chicago and other Democrat-run cities because of their proud status as 'sanctuary cities.'  Now, Illinois' harsh winters, lack of migrant infrastructure, and ambivalent support from locals has made many people, who undertook the harsh US-Mexico border journey, actually turn around and go back home.  Venezuela-born Michael Castejon, 39, and his family have been sleeping on the floors of police stations and shelters after he could not afford to pay rent in Chicago – because his work permit was taking so long to arrive.

Even with city vouchers and rental assistance, it was not enough to sustain Castejon's family. Once that ran out, they ended up sleeping on the floor at a police station. After finding a job, it still was not adequate to survive. He felt it was better to return to Venezuela even with its harsh government... Hundreds of Illegal aliens in El Paso, the majority from Venezuela, will be sleeping in the streets since the shelters are at capacity...

The FBI received major backlash on social media after they set up a recruitment tent at a LGBTQ Pride event in North Carolina recently.  In a post on X, the FBI's Charlotte branch posted a photo of FBI agents with pride flags hanging on a recruitment tent in an effort to recruit attendees of the pride event.  In the post, the FBI wrote "Recently, FBI Charlotte participated in a Pride event where the FBI spoke to attendees about career opportunities and the work the Bureau does to protect civil rights."

The city of Chicago and Democrat Mayor Brandon Johnson is calling on city authorities to give black residents fewer parking tickets in an effort to push "racial equity."  The city has established a "Racial Equity Office," which pushes the idea that urgency is white supremacist, and has made its city police give fewer parking tickets to black residents.  "Chicago has a long history of racial disparities and social inequities, especially on the South and West Sides. ...

In order to achieve "racial equity," Johnson said, "we must acknowledge the injustices of the past and consistently include those who are most impacted by inequality in our policy and decision making, not just when it is easy or convenient."  "Demonstrating proper accountability towards people and the outcomes we are committing to is vital," the mayor added. "I am confident that this is just the beginning, and that the impact of this work will last for generations to come. I am proud of the work that is being done thus far to build systemic equity and secure racial justice for our residents." In the city's "racial equity report," it states that a goal for the city's Department of Finance is to implement a plan that will result in few parking tickets issues to "black and brown" residents of the Windy City...

We are so perilously close to living in a society where black people are completely free from being judged by the consequences of their actions.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Tuesday blamed Republicans after Democrat Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX) was carjacked at gunpoint outside his apartment building in Washington D.C. Three black men reportedly approached Representative Cuellar while armed and demanded his car. The attackers succeeded in getting away in Cuellar's white Honda CHR, which is registered in Texas.
