I definitely think outdoor hobbies are great for kids and are a great way for them to learn about nature and the basic laws that govern it. What could shatter the idea of equality in a child more than witnessing first hand a hawk swooping down and devouring a rabbit? Hunting is also a great way to introduce firearms with children.
Also, make sure to tap into their artistic abilities, be it drawing, painting, drama, music, etc. as it seems almost all children have some degree of ability in one of those fields.
I think another big thing would be sports, as having athletic healthy children is very important. I wrestled in school and took martial arts as well, so not only was I fit, but also I was able to fight early on. If I remember correctly, Mr. Klassen recommends all white men learn how to box in Nature's Eternal Religion. I think things like wrestling, boxing, or martial arts are a great way for young boys to learn how to channel their aggression and use up all that energy they have, while giving them valuable tools for the future.
No matter what your child's interests though, I think you should stand by them and support them. Even if Johnny would rather learn to play the guitar as opposed to being the all American football hero, you still need to be there and show that you are proud of them. Just my thoughts on the matter.
