'Equally Miserable' Yet San Francisco Homeless Tents Cost $60,000 Each

For a long time now, the modus operandi of the progressive left has  been, "If it's a problem, just throw money at it until it goes away." This strategy was responsible for nearly every significant government expansion of the 20th -- and 21st -- century, and despite policy failure after policy failure, the army of bureaucrats and so-called experts marches on with endless spending. The New York Post  reported on June 26 that the city is operating six "safe sleeping  villages" for the homeless. These villages provide tents, security,  three meals a day and sanitation facilities.

The Post, citing a report by the San Francisco Chronicle,  said each tent comes with a massive price tag of $60,000 -- a sum  funded almost entirely by business taxes first implemented in 2018.  Furthermore, the city wants to renew the program at a cost of $57,000  per tent. For reference, the Chronicle found that the cost of one tent is  roughly equivalent to the cost of renting two regular one-bedroom apartments in the city. If you take a deeper dive, the cost of this program is even more mind-boggling. In 2014, San Francisco voters passed a new minimum-wage ordinance  that ordered the city to raise that wage to $15 per hour in 2018, and  adjust it based on the Consumer Price Index ever year thereafter. Currently, San Francisco's minimum wage is $16.32...

Say that instead of renewing its current program, San Francisco hired  a personal attendant for each of the roughly 260 homeless people currently living in city-provided tents. For the sake of argument, assume that each attendant would earn the  city's minimum wage and work full time at 40 hours per week. What would  be the cost to the city for hiring all these attendants?

The answer is $33,945.60 — far less than what the city currently pays. Obviously, this thought experiment isn't perfect, and more goes into  any public program than what meets the eye, but it does highlight the  enormity of San Francisco's wastefulness. We are dealing with a city that fundamentally does not understand how  to deal with money or solve problems, and there is no sign that this  will change soon. Homelessness is like almost every other public policy problem, in  that simply throwing more money at it won't change anything... Unfortunately, it will take decades for San Francisco and cities that  seek to emulate it -- such as Portland, Austin, Denver and Seattle --  to come to terms with reality, and by then, the damage will have been  done.

I was in SF 5 years ago.
It's meant to be the costliest place in the US?
They tell me a tiny apartment is $3,200 USD/ month?
Some fast food workers told me they worked 3 x jobs?
Waitresses telling me they traveled from Oakland on the BART just to get the job there as Oakland is cheaper to live.

The homelessness in California is epidemic!
Weirdos , Bums , Druggies all over.
It is a weird contrast of very poor vs very affluent.

What puzzles me is that the US has the largest economy in the world. The citizens are earning $15 USD  min wage.
College fees are expensive and you have to work after school to get by.
There's no good public health care system and insurance is costly!
No wonder the US wants a big army ? There are great incentives for :-health, benefits and education if you join.
It's like a struggle if you don't have all that.

It's clear despite the US have the largest economy a lot of taxes go on military.

I read about this problem on my local newspaper. Political ideology is result of genetic as results in personal life. Letist want to steal money from productive Whites what will result with more poverty while conservatives want to employee non-whites what will solve problem with giving high money from their salaries for them.

Non-whites have small business what conservatives who are not racialist support but it can not help them because their products are bullshit as their workers.

Non-Whites want more than they deserve through higher salaries in small business or higher standard does not matter about costs. Maths is logical science and their brain have problem with this so they will never understand it. So conservative policy about supporting small non-white business is mistake from the White man point of view. They will always have complex of inferiority on us does not matter where they are working in White society.

That's just the problem! Nobody wants a to give a good days work for a good day's pay! The Pigs up the top running companies outsourced jobs to developing nations to exploit cheap labour.

Or they bring in foreign nationals to do jobs like pick the fruit. They don't care about the social ills non whites can bring to your community nor do they care if your once thriving community becomes "Rust belt"!

The next thing you know some 30-40 years later people like the Chinese got rich off the jobs that should have been for your people...and what the worst thing is they have long term and cunning plans to use their wealth to :- Attack you, re- colonise you, buy allies to hinder you also , debt trap you with belts and roads schemes in order to take your assets.
They did this to Montenegro as they are after all the Ports that are strategic to them.

Meanwhile the once white host nation has these big businessmen retire rich and comfortable while everybody else is unemployed, no security to buy homes and start families, (if you can find a decent white woman who wants to ).

While the streets get full of non whites not only making crimes against your community but the host people being told they must accept the non whites as equals or face penalties!
