A YOUNG driver has pleaded guilty after a teenager was left brain-damaged after being dragged by a car and left for dead on a Sydney street.

Bashar Hawchar, 20, was due to stand trial in Campbelltown District Court on Monday but pleaded guilty to dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.

Shocking CCTV caught Samantha Giufre, then 18, being dragged by a car before falling from the vehicle on September 7, 2014, at Casula.

Hawchar has also admitted failing to stop and assist after the incident.

Ms Giufre was in hospital for months after suffering multiple fractures to her skull and face, along with bleeding on the brain.

According to the agreed statement of facts, Hawchar and Ms Giufre knew each other.

"There was animosity between them due to the existence of a possible drug debt owed by the victim to the offender," the statement said.

Hawchar posted a warning on Facebook after the incident, Seven News reports.

"Yeh I done that bitch, she deserves it and thats what happens when you don't pay up," he wrote, according to Seven.

Hawchar was sitting behind the wheel with the engine running when Ms Giufre was partly inside the car talking to a passenger.

He then began to drive down the road, causing Ms Giufre to grip on to the car. "Witnesses saw the car travel some distance down the road with the victim's body and legs hanging from the open window being dragged along the roadway."

Hawchar, who is on bail, will face a sentence hearing on February 24.

STAR Group officers have raided a Kadina house as they continue their hunt for a wanted man who allegedly threatened police with a gun.

Police descended on the house in Westlake St just before 1.30pm, after earlier speaking to a man at a home in East Tce, in relation to wanted Copper Triangle man Conan Taylor, 36.
Taylor is of Pacific Islander appearance, 190cm tall, 90kg, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing dark pants and no top.

It is believed the group were harassing other beachgoers for hours and stealing phones before a brawl erupted following a ' verbal altercation'.

'It is believed between 10-30 people were involved in the brawl,' a Victoria police spokesperson said.

As soon as police arrived at the scene the group managed to disperse and escape.

'I want to provide some reassurance to the community that what occurred last night was not acceptable,' Inspector Jason Kelly said.

'The matter will be fully investigated and those responsible will be identified.'

Extract: A Sydney taxi driver and part-time university lecturer who left a 94-year-old woman to die on the road after a hit and run worked for six hours after the fatal crash.

"He clearly lacked any compassion," the niece of victim Suzzanne King told Sydney's District Court on Wednesday, where Mohammad "Mark" Farhad is being sentenced over the August 2015 incident at Crows Nest on the city's north shore.

Farhad, 51, smashed into the elderly woman as she tried to cross a road and knocked her about 30 metres, while driving in what the court heard were "perfect" conditions.

He stopped briefly but sped off and continued to work for about six hours, the court heard.

"We all appreciate that accidents happen, but for the defendant to have left our aunt dying on the road is beyond comprehension," Ms King's niece said.

"How could another human being do this?"
