A staff member at one of Australia's most prestigious universities has been suspended after allegedly attacking a group of students celebrating a Jewish holiday.

Shocking footage has emerged showing a woman verbally abusing the students on the grounds of the University of Sydney.

In the video, obtained by Sky News, the woman approaches several students and asks if they are 'Zionists,' before harassing them as they repeatedly ask her to move on.

The students, who were celebrating the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, explained that they were not making any political statements or staging a protest, and simply wanted to be left alone.

However, the woman continued her tirade, getting right up in the face of one young woman and telling her: 'A Zionist is the lowest form of rubbish.'

'Zionists are the most disgusting thing that has ever walked this earth,' she yelled.

She described herself as an 'Indigenous Palestinian' before calling the group 'baby killers' and telling one member she was a 'f***ing filthy Zionist.'

A security guard attempted to intervene, but the woman ignored him and continued her rant against the students, who did not appear to be bothering anyone.

'Look at this rubbish, look at these parasites,' the woman told them.

In the video, the staffer claimed the students 'came to her' and she did not start the argument.

The group repeatedly asked the woman to leave and walk away before she walked off and yelled: 'Go f**k yourself you disgusting Zionist. A Zionist is the lowest form of humanity.'

The Jewish academic, who was singled out by the pro-Palestinian activist, told Sky News they were on campus to celebrate the holiday of Sukkot.

'It was an Australian Union of Jewish Students activity, the Rabbi was present. We didn't have any Israeli flags or even the hostage ribbon; it was purely a Jewish event,' the academic said.

'We were there for religious reasons as Jews on campus. She directed so much anger and rage towards us.'

Sydney University released a statement confirming the staff member had been suspended 'pending further assessment'.

'Such conduct is utterly unacceptable, and we are taking immediate action under our codes of conduct,' a University of Sydney spokesperson said.

'Where our codes are breached, we will not hesitate to take disciplinary action and other steps to ensure a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all,' the spokesperson continued.

'Hate speech, antisemitism and verbal harassment have no place on campus, online or in our wider community.

'We deeply apologise to any staff, students or visitors who are distressed or impacted by this incident in any way.

A high-flying real estate agent has been stood down after he called Jewish people 'money hungry' and 'child murdering pigs' in a string of anti-Semitic posts

Ray White Judd auctioneer and senior partner Andrew Dimashki has apologised after making the offensive comments in September last year.

The post, which was online for about 15 hours, was published by the Herald Sun.

'The most Jew thing I've ever seen. Who builds a house at the sacred site. Yep only a money hungry Jew . Child murdering  ,' the post read.

Two months earlier, he commented 'children killers' on a picture of people stepping on an Israeli flag.

Ray White said a competitor had contacted them about the comments late last week, leading to Mr Dimashki apologising and stepping down from his roles.

'This was 14 months ago, and I made very stupid comments at the time,' the agent told Daily Mail on Saturday.

'I was reprimanded heavily back then and it was a dark period explaining myself to my close Jewish friends, who are very dear to me.


'I apologised at the time and I am still very sorry.

'Over the past 24 hours I have been receiving death threats, my office had a bomb threat and we are still trying to cope with the backlash.

'I have decided to step down indefinitely from my position to reflect and educate myself.'

Ray White Judd's managing director Dexter Prack said staff would be keeping a watchful eye on Mr Dimashki's cultural awareness education.

'I received an email from a competitor late last week about comments made online 12 months ago by Andrew Dimashki. I replied to the competitor in haste,' Mr Prack said.

'The comments were disgusting, hurtful and fell far short of the respect every person deserves... Andrew has agreed to stand down indefinitely while he undertakes cultural awareness education and training.

'We will closely monitor his progress through this process to make sure he genuinely understands the harm caused and shows that he's learnt from it.'

Mr Prack said any similar behaviour in the future won't be tolerated, adding that Ray White 'stands firmly against antisemitism and all forms of discrimination.

We sincerely apologise to the Jewish community for the offence these comments have caused,' he said.

Leaders in Australia's Jewish community expressed their horror at the comments after Mr Dimashki's comments resurfaced this week.

Zionist Federation of Australia Alon Cassuto told The Herald that 'anti-Semitic, vile, hate-filled comments' should never be normalised.

'For a senior partner at a major real estate firm to feel comfortable expressing such open hatred is completely at odds with Australian values and basic decency,' he said.

Australian Jewish Association chief executive Robert Gregory also called for Ray White to address the behaviour 'with the same seriousness it would show toward racism against any other minority.

Miss Finland has been stripped of her crown after she made a 'racist' slanted eye gesture in a social media post saying she was 'eating with a Chinese person

Sarah Dzafce - who won the beauty contest just three months ago - was pictured using her fingers to stretch her eyes into a slanted shape.

This gestures was considered to be derogatory towards Asian people.

The caption underneath read 'kiinalaisenkaa syömäs', which roughly translates to 'eating with a Chinese person'.

It was posted on the German social media app Jodel.

Ms Dzafce initially claimed that she was rubbing her temples and stretching her eyes due to a 'severe headache'.

But she has since apologised for the gesture.

As a result of the racism storm, Ms Dzafce was dethroned as Miss Finland after being crowned in September.

The Miss Finland organisation said they do not accept racism or any form of discriminatory behaviour in a statement on Wednesday.

The following day, the organisation apologised for the incident and announced that Ms Dzafce was stripped of her title during a press conference.

Tara Lehtonen, who finished as runner-up in September, was crowned the new Miss Finland.

Ms Dzafce, who has a Finnish mother and a Kosovan father, apologised for her actions at the press conference.

The model, who was born in the Finnish city of Oulu, said: 'I am very sorry to everyone I have offended and hurt by my actions on social media.

While Miss Finland wants Chinese take away, I want Finland to take Chinese away. Then I'd go eat Miss Finland.

Excerpt: An Asian man recounted an experience in which he was subjected to a seemingly casual, yet deeply offensive assumption about his identity.

'It is so f***ing uncultured, because it's 2025 you dead-arse white people,' he said.

According to the man, the incident occurred when a woman, after noticing him outside a coffee shop, remarked, 'I've seen you around before. You must ride that bicycle all the time down Sunshine Road.'

Despite having no connection to the area and not owning a bicycle, the man chose to humour the woman, responding with a simple, 'Yeah, that's me'.

However, the conversation quickly took an unsettling turn. 'I thought so,' the woman replied, before adding, 'There's not many of your kind that live around here.'

The man said the comment revealed a broader pattern of racial stereotyping that continues to persist in Australian society.

'Imagine what the Aboriginals have experienced since colonisation. The stereotyping of anyone not white is insane.'

I foolishly entered an Asian shop in Melbourne where it is predominantly Asian, and was bluntly told by the lady 'we don't serve your kind here'. So the racism cuts both ways. I was actually so shocked I sheepishly walked back out instead of challenging her.


My parents took me to a Chinese restaurant in Melbourne when I was 9, where we were refused service because we were White. On the hottest day of summer in Brisbane, I was refused service when I attempted to purchase a bottle of drink in an area taken over by Chinks. Again in Brisbane, refused service by a Chink doctor. Refused by a Dot-Head doctor in Adelaide. Thrown out by a Jewish doctor in Adelaide that recognised my name. Refused service at a Commonwealth Bank in an Asian area. Refused service with a friend who wanted to buy chips from a Chink in Sydney. The last was about 20 years ago, "We don't serve your kind" at an Indian restaurant some idiot dragged me into.

When I had to do Jury Duty, I went to buy a drink in the shops under the Adelaide Courts. It's literally China Town under there. When I realised they weren't going to serve me, I told them in an obnoxiously loud clear voice in order that everyone around me could hear, "Oi! You! Either take the money now or I'm leaving without paying." They took the money.

When I see muds, I either go to another store or stand in another line and wait patiently to be served by Whites Only. Is that Racism or Experience? You tell me.
