Sydney: Shocking racist posters featuring Waleed Aly and Yassmin Abdel-Magied on city streets

RACIST posters calling for prominent Muslim Australians Yassmin Abdel-Magied and Waleed Aly to be deported are being displayed — and pulled down — around Sydney.

The shocking signs, designed by a nationalist group encouraging followers to print and hang them in public places around the country, are made to resemble Pokemon cards and feature the catch phrase "gotta catch & deport them all".

Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young is featured on one of the posters, with the modified tagline "gotta catch & hang 'em all". Others feature cartoon Apex gang members and a "passive yet cunning" Asian man, given the name "Chinkamon".

The posters have shocked people for the racist slurs and insulting descriptions of the people and groups they feature.

The poster featuring Ms Abdel-Magied is titled "Yassmin-Abdelamon" and is stamped with the words "update: Self-exiled", presumably referring to the former ABC identity's recent move to London.

The sign describes the character as a "big-mouthed Australianaphobe" and a "nuisance feminist."

"Waleedamon", the group's depiction of popular The Project host, is described as "charming yet insidious" and is said to possess the ability of Taqiyya, which the poster defines as being "used by Muslims to lie to non-beleivers (sic) to defeat them".

Senator Hanson-Young is accused of being out to "destroy Australia by promoting self-hatred and open borders", while the Asian caricature is accused of "inconspicuous buyout of Aussie housing, business & infrastructure".

The "Apexamon" poster, illustrated as two drawings of black men holding knives and guns with a "racial commitment to crime".

The posters have been produced by a group calling itself Aussie Nationalists.

On the group's website it offers high resolution copies of the posters, encouraging followers to print them out and "spread the love in your area".

One of the posters, featuring an image of Waleed Aly done up as "Waleedamon", was spotted in Sydney's inner west overnight and posted to Facebook.
The poster was reportedly removed shortly after it was shared online.

Members of the public are believed to have alerted police, who have told news.com.au they are investigating.

"Police at Marrickville Local Area Command are now aware of the posters and we are seeking information from the public about who made and distributed them.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 33 000.

Before anyone asks, no I don't know who did these, but I do admit that I like them, and I applaud the author for their efforts.

CLAIMS of racial abuse hurled at Aboriginal players during an amateur football match on Saturday have triggered a call for a review into the culture of the game.


An Edwardstown player is alleged to have called his opposing Kilburn player a "welfare cheat" during the division 4 game at Blair Athol Reserve.
Grounds marshal Clifford Wilson also claimed he heard a player labelled a "black c***" and others "n*****s" by Edwardstown Football Club members on a number of occasions throughout the match.
"I heard ... others on the boundary saying 'n*****' to the players all through the game," Mr Wilson said.
"A 23-year-old (Kilburn player) who was sat on the bench was copping a lot of it and was pretty upset at the clubrooms later on.
"I've seen this kind of thing before but this is the worst racial vilification I've witnessed in a game yet."
Former Kilburn Football Club chairman of 44 years Phil Martin said many of the club's 25-odd Aboriginal players had been left upset by the incidents.
"We get sledging all the time but this really wasn't on, and amateur footy league has got to do something about it," Mr Martin said.
"When you get these players using race as a weapon on the field it can have lasting mental scarring."

YASSMIN Abdel-Magied is moving to London in order to "partake in the Aussie rite of passage", she says.

The controversial Muslim author, public speaker and TV presenter took to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram today to declare she was leaving Australia for the English capital.

Abdel-Magied received wellwishes from a number of her followers, but she did not further explain her reasons for leaving Australia.

Abdel-Magied's ABC TV show Australia Wide was recently axed after a series of controversial comments.

Last week in an extensive series of Facebook posts Abdel-Magied claimed has been "traumatised" by "deeply racist" criticism of her.

She said she was moved to break her silence because being quiet had not "served me well".

She had been criticised over a controversial tweet on Anzac Day.

She also took aim at Australia's system of democracy, which led Senator Eric Abetz to suggest she leave the country for an "Arab dictatorship".

A FOUL-MOUTHED woman who racially vilified a mother and child on an Adelaide bus has been ordered to perform 200 hours of community service for her "reprehensible" conduct.

On Monday, the Adelaide Magistrates Court told Stacey Marie Thomason her vulgar language and racist actions could and would not be condoned in a civilised society, despite her own difficult life.

The court said enduring domestic violence and losing her children as a result of drug and alcohol issues in no way excused Thomason's verbal attack upon a woman, of Asian descent, who did nothing more than board a bus with her child, 7.

The court said it would have imposed the maximum $1250 fine had Thomason not been unemployed and without means — and so ordered she perform her community service within just 12 months.

Thomason was charged with offensive language after she was filmed by another passenger delivering the racist tirade on an Adelaide Metro bus at Fullarton on November 19 last year.

"Excuse me, you talk about disrespectful, excuse me, they're not f***ing people, they're not f***ing Australian, and she didn't pay for her f***ing ticket," she was recorded shouting.

"Literally, they're f***ing invading our country, can't you see it — f***ing Chinese people (are) f***ing everywhere.

"Wake up man, close your f***ing eyes eh. F***ing we're getting f***ing invaded by these f***ing c****."

Witnesses told her she was "a disgrace" and said "that's enough". She was later reported by the police Public Transport Safety Branch.

Thomason, 31, of Wallaroo on the Yorke Peninsula, apologised for her actions after an earlier hearing.

On Monday, she formally pleaded guilty to one count of using offensive language.

She also admitted that offence breached a good behaviour bond imposed upon her for swearing at police, and threatening them with a rock, in Whyalla in 2015.

Prosecutors asked Magistrate David McLeod to impose the maximum fine saying that, while the crime itself was of lesser seriousness, Thomason's actions were at its upper end.
