Video: Taiwanese man abuses foreigner with local girlfriend on Taipei MRT

A video showing a Taiwanese man verbally abusing a foreigner and his local girlfriend on a Taipei metro train has gone viral on Youtube.

In the video, the abuser calls the foreigner "ugly," "trash" and his girlfriend a "whore" for dating a Westerner.

The victim, who identified himself as Christopher Raymond Hall (from Britain), uploaded the video to his Youtube channel "Lucid Dream" on Wednesday. As of 4:00pm on Thursday, the video has already been viewed over 240,000 times.

"You are so ugly... Don't be too cocky, you better be careful," the man says to Hall, "A lot of people look at you and feel repulsed."

The abuser then went on to attack Hall's girlfriend, who was recording the incident on her mobile phone.

"The whole of Taiwan despises you, you f***ing whore," he said.

The abuser called Hall a failure, saying he only came to Taiwan because he couldn't make it at home. The verbal onslaught went on for about eight minutes until the couple left the train.

Hall said he did not provoke the man and even tried to walk away with his girlfriend at the beginning but the abuser followed them.

Hall talked back multiple times throughout the video, speaking fluent Mandarin with a Taiwanese accent. At the end of the video, Hall said he had been in Taiwan for ten years and that his Taiwanese friends were unfailingly nice to him. He received many supportive comments on the page.

Hall said he reported the case to the police the day after it happened on October 15. However, unsatisfied with the police's inefficient handling of the case, he decided to post the video online.

Well it is natural for him to be repulsed seeing a mixed race couple. However he was a bully and provoked the couple.  It is interesting to look at the Asian mind set though "How much money do you have are you successful?"  That is all they care about.  Is money all there is to life? Is big noting yourself with your money all they care for?
