I joined the Australian Regular Army in 87. Every recruit instructor attempted to emulate FULL METAL JACKET whenever and however they could. And I did not know I was living through that MOVIE. LOL!

I was an army brat. I had never seen the movie and thought everything - other than the new slogans they spat out - was normal.

Since they couldn't "Swear" at us, they would call us things like ZUBRIK!

"I will rip off your head and shi.t down your neck you Zubrik! Do you hear me?!"

"You WILL MOVE when I tell you to move. MOVE ZUBRIK!"

"You did not MOVE! Who sh.t in your pants?! 'Cause it was not me! Are you accusing me of shitting in your pants?!"

I could handle all their discipline, and PT. I laugh today at both.

I was thrown out of the Australian Regular Army for going on a TASK that involved killing nogs. I was thrown in prison again and again for nothing, and then out of the Army. FTA!

My father was a Staff Sgt in at the same time as me. I haven't talked with him since because he is ashamed of me - while not knowing what I did. Basically his mates fucked me up and so did his enemies; I made the stupid mistake of joining the same corps when I was offered better. If I ever see him again, I'll slice his gut wide open and throw him from a cliff as nursery food for baby Great Whites. I haven't seen him for thirty years; hopefully, for the world's sake, the old c.unt is dead.

So there was some back and forth that was the same with the Australian Army and the Royal and US Marines before FMJ, but FFS!
