Movie Review: Lost in Space (2018) = Lost in Political Correctness

The original Lost in Space from the 1960's was a kid's show made in the same style as the Star Trek of the same period. Although less moralistic than Star Trek, on the surface, the acting, costumes and set designs of Lost in Space were almost on a par with Star Trek. However, the show creators never forgot that Lost in Space was for kids. Skip forward fifty years and Lost in Space 2018 is so moralistic with adult themes that ... and add the fact that the plot, and the costume and set designs are so similar to 2017's Star Trek Diversity that Lost in Space 2018 may as well be called Star Trek: Lost in Space.

In the original 60's show, we had a family - a White family - who (having been launched in a future 1997) were marooned on a space ship, lost in space.

The family consisted of a father (who was a scientist), a mother, two daughters and a young son. Along for the ride was the co-pilot (an Airforce Major), a psychologist named Dr Smith, a robot and a space monkey.

In the new version, the father is no longer a scientist. He is in fact a former Navy SEAL and US Marine, which should make him a highly capable person, but in this new PC version of Lost in Space, the father can lift heavy things and does as he is told - because naturally in today's society, women and children are supposed to be smarter than a White man. If you haven't already guessed it, the mother is now the scientist and leader of the expedition.

The co-pilot is still a man, although he is now distinctly Middle Eastern in appearance. Still, he's little more than an ape, grunting about the place waiting for a woman to tell him what to do.

The Dr Smith character is now a woman.

The eldest daughter of White parents is black and a doctor in her own right. The youngest daughter is an engineer and the boy - who was supposed to be brilliant in the 60's series - is just an average kid, playing with dolls.

The 2018 episodes of Lost in Space also contain an extended cast that is almost, but not quite 100% DIVERSE. By that I mean that there are probably only two other White people amongst a cast of a couple of a dozen. BTW, the other White man is a surfer dude that is soon killed off.

So, with the new 2018 version of Lost in Space, we have men subordinate to women in some sort of matriarchal society where men are only good for lifting heavy things. White European parents have African children. And White people are generally rare.

Oh yeah, and the robot now looks like C3PO on meth.

Lost in Space 2018 looks, feels and is as slow and as effing boring as Star Trek Diversity that it really does seem that you are watching Star Trek: Lost in Space. Watch the original, watch the remake 90's movie, but don't watch this crap unless you want to kick in your TV set.
