Gardening & Prepping: Tips & Sharing

I've been told I'm an avid gardener with a green thumb. I say, bullshit. My thumbs are decidedly White. The fact is, I just don't like living in filth, and keeping your garden tidy is easy. Over time, you develop your own tastes and methods. Sometimes those tastes and methods are dictated by your surroundings and finances - like me - or perhaps you have the experience or the money to do some landscaping?

If you have a garden, or a potted plant, share your tips and tricks. Feel free to boast at your Salubrious Horticulture. For instance, I have an orange tree, I grow rosemary by the ton, kale, herbal tea, lettuce, different mints and parsley, garlic chives and faulty basil. Keeping some things alive in the middle of the 45 degree summer isn't easy. In the park next to my home there are plum trees, and my neighbour has peaches, apricots, locuts and grapes - I set up star pickets and wire for my neighbour and she now has bunches of grapes every year on controllable vines, instead of the occasional bunch in an entangled mess. It helps that when I water my back lawn, it waters her grapes.

There's also succulents, agave and cactus ... things that you'd expect in South Australia, South Africa and Texas. Although most of it is inedible, Pig Face is a succulent that can be considered Bush Tucker. I'm also trying to grow a hedge around my property - somewhere handy for hiding pungy sticks in case someone wants to jump my fence. There's thick bark everywhere - black in contrast with the White House - which if you dig anywhere into it, you will come up with a handful of wigety grubs - more Bush Tucker. And in my back yard is that thick bladed American Buffalo Grass, DNA altered for Australian conditions; if you water it, you mow it twice a week and it looks good; if you don't water it, you don't mow it and it looks good enough.

I've been here in my home for six years. When I first moved in, everything was dust and weeds and I had bad hay fever. I soon got to work changing all of that and my hay fever disappeared. The park next to my home turned green (I found the council's inground sprinkler system and learned how to repair and adjust that to my own satisfaction) as my own garden developed. I have installed watering systems around the house with sprayers and drippers from underground and nailed up hoses connected to clockwork timers.

I also repaired the water tank - you never know when a sand-nigger is going to blow up the power grid or any other utility. (Take out the power and there is no electricity, gas, water, phones ... supermarkets shut down and so everything shuts down.) As well as permanent solar movement activated lights for outside, I found portable solar lights are handy inside when the power goes off. The point about that is, unless you are a total nutjob Prepper paranoid to the point of insanity, Gardening and Prepping should go hand-in-hand and be natural to any Creator.

For security, I upgraded the lights in the park along the bicycle track in front of my home and my closest neighbours. I added Solar Sensor Lights, and my front porch light is a plugged in version. There's also a light I set up, that if I hit the remote, it lights up the park outside my home and my car as if it was daylight. And then I have Security Cameras Left, Right, Front and Back. The Security Cameras also have audio recording. If any twat wants to pick a fight, it will be recorded. Being a Creator, I do not complain to the police, but I've dodged half a dozen arrest attempts for false charges in as many years.

I'm sure there are many that have done better than me, but I don't live on an acreage, I don't have the money to live on a ranch with a 35 thousand dollar Harley Davidson, and my experience isn't much, so my efforts were on the cheap and dictated by my circumstances; but over time, they are building and working. I'm learning as I go and I hope others will contribute their experience so I can learn from you. Creators in the past have certainly given advice when I've mentioned things that I was doing ... so I hope that will continue. Just this time, instead of the advice being delivered in a private chat, let's keep that advice available for all.

If we cannot live strictly Salubrious, then at least let us ensure that the home we live in is a Sound Home, controlled by a Sound Mind with a Sound Body. We will have to work on that Sound Society, but that begins with Creator Community and your dedication with the Church of Creativity.

Get recruiting and let's make 2020 the Year of Plenty. We shall grow that Creator Community just as we grow those healthy plants we choose for our gardens ... and in that way, we will win this Racial Holy War. RaHoWa!
