A Merseyside man jailed for posting an anti-Semitic tweet to MP Luciana Berger used social media to spread pro-Nazi and anti-Jewish messages.

Twenty-one-year-old Garron Helm's Twitter account https://twitter.com/TheWulf_93 is filled with white supremacist messages which include "anti-racist is code for anti-white".

Helm was today jailed for four weeks over an anti-Semitic tweet to Liverpool Wavertree MP Luciana Berger from his home on Thomson Road in Litherland which showed a Holocaust-era star on the MP's head with the hashtag 'Hitler was right'.

Four weeks for 21 year-old who had SS and National Action flags in his Litherland home

A 21-year-old man who sent a "grossly offensive" anti-Semitic message to Liverpool MP Luciana Berger has been jailed.

Ms Berger was said to be "deeply shocked" by the tweet, sent by Garron Helm of Thomson Road, Litherland, which showed a Holocaust-era star on the MP's head with the hashtag 'Hitler was right'.

When police searched Mr Helm's home, they found Nazi memorabilia including a flag bearing the SS symbol and flags from British neo-Nazi group National Action.

Mr Helm, who refers to himself online as 'The Noble Wolf', pleaded guilty to sending an offensive message and was sentenced to four weeks in jail- he is expected to serve half of this.

Sent by Mr Helm in a state of "anger" and "political frustration" in the early hours of August 7th, the message showed Ms Berger with the Star of David on her head- used to identify Jews by Nazis in the Second World War.

The tweet then called the MP a "communist Jewess" and read: "You can always trust a Jew to show their true colours eventually."

Defending Mr Helm, Mark Ellis described him as a loner with a troubled past who "met people on the internet who he would call family and brothers".

Mr Ellis added that Mr Helm "accepted the message was fundamentally wrong."

Ms Berger, who has been the MP for Liverpool Wavertree since 2010, told police she was "deeply shocked" and "shouldn't be spoken to in that manner."

District Judge Shaw called the Merseyside man's actions "calculated" and "extremely abusive and upsetting."

He added that the Nazi paraphernalia found in his Litherland home "showed his true motivations".

The court heard that Mr Helm was one of 11 children, and after the death of their father the family had broken apart- leaving him with no one to turn to except 'friends' online.

He sent the tweet from a Twitter account called 'Aethelwulf', which translates from Old English as 'Noble Wolf'.

The 21-year-old was expelled from college in Southport earlier this year.

Ms Berger is currently sitting as the Shadow Semitic Minister for Public Health White Persecution.
